wewt! 100 pages xD
and so pretty, damies. i wish color would take to my hair =/ |
Like your hair, Damies!
|
Thanks guyyys. xD
I just wish is had been sunny today so I could see if it looks more vibrant. xD |
We had such a storm yesterday that it knocked the power out in some areas. Driving through unlit stoplights was... interesting.
|
and of course, I start yet another project... This time, I'm knitting a beaver plushie for a friend of mine.
|
I'm always so impressed with people's knitting and crocheting skills. Making little creatures out of yarn is awesome.

I would like to learn how to knit. Maybe in the winter after NaNo is over.
Tried with YouTube videos but I've never been able to get the tension consistent. |

Yeah, plushies! I started on a fox for an impatient coworker today. But didn't actually get much done on it because I got bored partway through making the tail.
Also, I can't do much until I find some black yarn. Preferably bulky weight. I'm sure I have some at home. Don't want to buy it unless I have to. |
I kinda wanna make a journal....
|
I would love to be able to make one of those gorgeous and artistic bullet journals. I've spent hours lost on Pinterest looking at those and fantasizing about them. Even purchased a Leuchtturm1917 A5 Notebook, however it's sitting on the shelf waiting for my skill set to improve ... and the extra time to practice said skill set. :P
|
I made a tiny book once, with a real leather cover... it doesn't look very pretty, but it's small and I am proud of it.
|
*eyes unfinished aprons*
Sigh, I should get to finishing those. ;n; |
Handmade book with a leather cover. That sounds amazing, Den.
|
That reminds me...I need to invest in a curved needle for making more journals/books. Straight needles are such a pain to try to use. XP
And also, I need to haul ass on a project I want to do for a friend for Christmas... |

I'm gonna make an apron for my mom. xD
A fancy sneaky apron! |
That's a great idea, Den. I might have to try that - although I have no leather for the cover.
|
I got the leather at Hobby Lobby, but if you have a Tandy Leather Company near you, they'll be a better deal, or you can always check Etsy or Ebay.
|
Thanks for the info Den.
I'll have to check Hobby Lobby. The nearest Tandy Leather is about 1 1/2 hours away. |
there're models at the nearest HL to me that I really wanna get... mostly because I wanna make 'em look like various Transformers.
|
MY APRON IS DONE!
Only took about an hour to make it. I made it from fleece so it was easy/lazy due to no need to hem all the edges. xD |
bwahahahahaa! look at damies go!
and i'd love to see your tiny leather book, den. sounds awesome! ^__^ i didn't make it, but i decorated a small cardboard book with scrapbooking stuff and old pictures of my mom. still need to finish the last few pages, but it's a place to keep her special baby photos she had just sitting in a box. |
Ugh, I haven't even started my apron. But I hopefully bought all the accent color fabric I'll need in the form of fat quarters because we had a 70% off total fat quarters purchase coupon...
(I probably should have stocked up on more, but only got what I needed for the apron...) Now gotta learn how to use patterns.... >.> |
awwwwe you can do it, kaderin! *pulls out the pom poms to cheer you on*
|
Hmmm....doesn't help that I have books to read and foxes and Christmas presents make still too...
But if I haven't misplaced it, I will finish cutting out my pattern pieces and then review the info in my "learn to sew" book/magazine on using patterns. XD I am such a little newblet... |
-peeks in to see the November theme-
We sell aprons at my store and I have to wear one as my uniform. |
Yeah. We have to wear them at my job too. And they just changed them. To a bright lime green. And the neck is almost too high unless you actually have boobs or are a genius and know how to adjust it properly.
XP I hate them. |
awwwww....we only have to wear the crap-tastic aprons at work when corporate is going to be in the store. if you've ever been to the dollar tree toy or craft aisle and see those aprons for kids....imagine them black with the store logo on them and adult sized. that's ours. cheapest, thinnest material ever that barely can hold onto the thin strips of material that they use for ties xD
|
Lol. We used to be able to wear aprons we made, but I think that's not allowed now that we have the ugly new ones except on certain "fun days".
|
how stupid...ROFL!
|
We're a fabric store! We should still get to wear the aprons we make! I wanna wear my animal skeletons apron every day once I make it!
|
i agree. when i worked at the craft store, we were required to wear handmade aprons. pretty sure i've told that before xD it was kinda like how in office space, the restaurant required a certain number of flair? xD
|
When I worked for a fabric store, we had these khaki colored aprons that we had to wear... I did actually get asked one time if I worked there, when I was in "uniform".
|
lol...people ask me all the time if i work where i do. "nah, i just like wearing green shirts, black pants, and a logo'd name tag and opening/stocking stuff whilst out shopping!"
|
Lol, yeah you did mention that once, tsukiko. XD
I actually think having personalized aprons is a great idea because it allows for individuality and inspiring the customers, while still being a uniform. Lol. It's remarkable how so many people can see the name tags and uniform and still feel it necessary to ask if you work at the place that you're clearly working at. I do get that all the time too. XD |
It's a common retail thing.
|
it's so irritating xD
