My apologies for the double post but weirdness ensued.

So I went to the store with my mom and had Pokemon Go open.
When we got home, there was this:

At first I thought it was an event but I in the middle of it as you can see and nothing is happening.
Additionally, a Sentret popped up and when I tapped it to trigger an encounter it said 'error' and the Sentret vanished
WTF?

Ugh. Apparently PoGo is only loading on my phone when I'm connected to wifi. Which is almost never...

I've never really noticed much in the way of glitches of bugs. I'm on the ditto goal now, which I assume should increase the number of potential dittos running around, as I saw a few more fire guys in the area when I had fire quests up. I have started seeing some basic pokemon like pidgy and rattata that I haven't seen in ages.

Ah. I do visit a gym in the long route park for its stop function.

I'm real annoyed myself right now. I just wasted a raid pass! It's a Latias so I wanted to try my hand even though it's over 2k CP which I am quite a bit undertrained for but I wasn't sure I had to remain at the gym once I was in and after the countdown, it kicked me out.

At last, I caught Zaptos but I had to waste about a dozen Ultra balls in the process, all of which failed! I ended up catching the damn thing with a Pokeball. That irks me!
Why can't Great and Ultra balls be purchased in the Pokecoin shop?!

As for the special/Mew research:
I'm up to 14 out of the 20 Pokemon I need to evolve and 63/400 Magikarp candies.

They have to give some reason to actually go out and play and not just buy things.

I haven't played since mid-May. Forgot that Zapdos was around.

Officially 1 raid away from advancing my special research. I discovered that I don't actually have to stop and wait for the raid to load for it to count, which has helped with that immensely. It does kind of potentially screw me out of gaining the raid boss pokemon, but tbh, I already have most except the legendaries anyway, so it doesn't bother me.

I'm back to mostly being bored with PoGo. If it wasn't for the legendaries being gained via stamp card filling, I probably would forget to play for weeks on end.

Which is probably the reason for the stamp filling. 7 days streaks do get arduous when one has to drive to the nearest Pokemon area, but I can get the odd stamp from home.

Really though, once I get the next legendary, I almost don't feel like playing that much. I like that they're trying to keep and bring back users by adding new features, but it's just gotten kind of blah for me.
Maybe it would be different if I wasn't a solo player, I don't know.

It's a remake of the original Pokemon Yellow Version, but with Pokemon Go style capturing, and you can sync with Pokemon Go on your smartphone in order to use it like a massively-upgraded Pokewalker from Gen IV.

But speaking of Pokemon Go accessories...

The Pokemon Go Plus is a MASSIVE PAIN IN THE NECK. It doesn't "just work". It's super finicky about how you get it paired and it tends to lose connection in the middle of your run without giving you any warning.

In related news, have you guys ever heard of the Go-tcha?

Can't say I've heard of the Go-tcha. (I might have actually while browsing for PoGo Plus reviews and stuff.)

But yeah, the Plus is a huge pain. It worked about 30% of the time with my previous phone (and was iffy at best then), but my current one won't connect to it at all. Huge waste of money.

The Go-tcha is a PoGo+ clone made by the creators of the Game Shark that automatically catches every Pokemon it detects.

Oh yeah! I did read about it when looking up pogo plus reviews and troubleshooting tips.
Most people who had used it seemed to not find it that much better from the Plus. Mainly in connectivity issues.

Was Game Shark one of those cartridge hacker things? Or am I mixing that with Game Genie?

I haven't heard of any new Pokemon stuff, but then, I'm pretty much out of the general game. Haven't even finished Black. Of course, that would require getting my DL Lite functional again. The battery I went to buy on Amazon is not being sold anymore.

Side note on old games, there's now a Megaman 1 & 2 pack-thing for switch that I saw on commercial at EB.

I got an evolution item from a pokestop yesterday. When did that start happening?

Evolution items like the metal coat and king stone and stuff? They have been acquired through pokestops for....forever? It's pretty rare to get them outside of the 7 day streak, but it still happens. And they might have increased the odds of getting them during the current "adventure week" event.

I'm not sure I've seen any from a stop, though there was a third upgrade in my inventory that seemed to appear one day.

No, you're right. Game Genie and Game Shark are both game hacking devices.

Yep, I picked it up launch day.

I used to be super into PoGo, but lost interest it once my favorite haunts got their PokeStops removed..

and the person I played with, who got me into it, I ended up cutting contact with. Eh.

I had a lot of fun when it was new though.

...AND PoGo is back to not loading without wifi on my phone. I am getting pretty sick of this.

I wonder if your phone is having issues locking onto GPS without wifi.

Would that cause the game to not open? Because it doesn't even get past the loading screen. It just keeps timing out and bringing up the usual "cannot load game data" or whatever message.
I don't have an issue with it tracking my gps once it loads though.

I'm having problems with Pokemon Go....it used to work, but now? GPS error. I'm okay (not completely) with jittering due to no wifi and stuff, but now it won't do anything, like load the area.

And only my phone has enough ram to play lol

It seems like once every while it stops working and I'm tired of it .-.

I'm betting they have to be local friends though...

The friends probably have to be local since there is no friend code or anything like on the 3DS...

Not according to the blog we will get id codes and they put in our code we get a do u want them to be frd message yes no we are all friends world wide

I'm only level 21 ;( this sucks at my rate of playing it takes 2/3 months per level

They're level-limiting it to the most experienced players first as a sort of beta test to see how the system handles. They said they'll bring down the level requirement over time.

Oh good! Because it would be super shitty to have that high of a level restriction permanently.
