It can be a very traditional path; a friend of mine who is more of the same uses some very long, elaborate rituals for her castings. I only go that long and flowery when speaking to the Egyptian deities, and that can e a mouthful! I don't know she does it ^.^

i'm very new to it. we told our high priestess lady we desire classes, not just to meet for rituals and stuff. she agreed. we had our first 'class' this weekend. we learned about the wheel of the year. and yeah, the rituals we've done (2) are a little drawn out, but not too bad. we get juice and cookies afterwards, so it's not so bad. *giggle* in the Gard tradition, though, we're not allowed to share certain stuff that we learn. it's got to stay secret. but, truthfully, i have no one to 'share' with, so it's not going to be a problem. |

you find a high priest/ess and ask them to teach you. they'll evaluate you and decide if you're right for the religion, basically.

It's a trait Gardner took from his heritage family; Heritage witches are notoriously secretive and are the least likely of all the types to get caught. To be a part of a heritage family, especially if they "adopt" you (not literally and officially) it is a really big honour. Without them there's little doubt that the Craft would probably have completely died away.
The Real Witches' Handbook (Kate West) is a treasure in my book collection ^.^ she explains all the types of witches in there in easy to understand ways. I'm getting the other two books in the Real Witch series soon ^.^ And to prove that i'm not always a nice witch; i am seriously considering hexing sombody!!! (no one here, i assure you) |

I've only recently been able to buy them for myself, i either spend birthday money in second-hand book stores (though i always love those places). Either that or i get given them. Why not ask for money on your birthday or something?

I'm so happy! my little summer solstice outing with friends is turning into a (small) fireside party! Wohoo! we're having it in the hillfort on the hill by my town, promise no damage will be done, we love the place too much to hurt it. Gorgeous atmosphere there, except for a couple of places . . . but anyway, i'm so happy! It was good news on an otherwise awful day. I'm so much happier now than i was last night ^.^

Bad juju. Ex-employer and friend spreading nasty rumours and acting like a two-faced creep. I don't like playing those kinds of games, i'm keeping my head above water, but it's beginning to wear me down now. The latest is that i'm a thief. Not sure whether to laugh, cry or scream. Though i am considering casting a spell to either quieten the gossip in him or chill him out. Maybe both? I've been a good girl and not hexed him into oblivion so i think i'm allowed a tiny spell :D
But oh well, i am helping out at an animal rescue centre this weekend so i can play with the tortoises again and the ferrets, i'm going to a lovely japanese resteraunt tomorrow with my boyfriend and the stars are out and i am sitting on my windowsill watching them. All i need now is a thunderstorm :D |

My rep? Not sure, but if i can persuade the two people i know have heard him to stand by me he'll get a solicitor's letter. And i know a possible reason why. Apart from the fact that he's a bit sexist and anti-witch, though he'll never admit it to your face, he screwed up and as a result his shop is closing down. Guess it's easier to blame on me.
The funny thing was, he claims not to believe in curses. Not a week after i'd left i got the blame for anything that went wrong in the shop! Said i'd cursed him, not that he believed in them of course. What was the list again? Mouth ulcer, printer broke twice, till broke once, all the lights went in one day and needed replacing . . . talk about bad luck, i swear i didn't do anything though. Funny though to hear about it. Oh well, can't wait to see the karmic backlash he's getting from this. He's been talking about me behind my back for a while now so it's probably gonna be big. He made my days hell while i was there. |
Sounds like his 'curse' is just more karma.

Yes and no, in a way. Really it needs some kind of conscious focus to it to work in order to send the vibes out there, but it can happen. Ever wished for something and it came true? :D
I've had to be very careful about that sort of thing the last month . . . . ok so the printer might have been my fault the first time . . . i dunno. You never really know that it's happened unless it's obvious, like you said "I wish it would rain a million pounds/dollars/etc" and it does. I wish, that'd make my day. And i'd be lying if i said i didn't think he deserved something, because it wasn't/isn't just me that gets his attitude either, and he's supposed to be creating a psychologically safe environment for the other helper. And thanks Ace, i will :D |

I dunno about my back, Karma had my throat at Christmas last year. My uncle is staying with us until he gets his own house, not that he's looking, lazy git. Anyway, he upset not only my mom, dad and brother with his attitude, but also my grandma. He had a cold so i told him that i hoped he suffered with it for the rest of Christams.
I joined him in his misery as of the next day. :'( |
The reason i was asking is that weird things have a tendency to happen around me. Last year I had a Physics class, and in the class we did a pendulum lab. During the lab, all the groups other then my own had an error rating of .02%. My group had an error rating of 64%. Oddly, the closer I got to the pendulum itself, the worse our data got. I left the room and one point to grab graph paper, and the moment I was out of the room, the error rating dropped to 09%. The teacher saw it all, and was very confused.

Karma is a very strong thing indeed. What goes around comes around, and usually its in 3's or 10's not sure which though.
Same with spells and things like that, whatever you do you get times 3 or 10, good or bad. Luck works in a similar fashion as well. |
Magik can be done subconsciously. It has been nicknamed "swinging the axe". It's not always a good thing but I used to do it all the time lol. It's something you should try and get control of just in case. :)

easiest way to control it - though it can be tedious - is to be aware of your thoughts and the way you direct energy around you at all times. Obviously, there will be slips with this method. Practice and meditation are better and less tiresome :D

what have you guys found to be the easiest, most effective way to meditate? i seem to have a problem doing so. i can ground just fine, but meditation doesn't come easy for me unless someone does a walk-thru for me...

For me i sit down and put my earphones in, sometimes the music is loud to drown out any and everything - usually for when i'm in a bad mood - but normally i pick some nice sounding music, instrumental or just nice.
My favourite spot's in my garden, which we've got decked and there's loads of flowers and plants and our pond. |
