@Dolly, well, at this point in his life, Shealtiel is kind of a drifter. On one hand, he finds Rue interesting and doesn't have anything better to do. On the other, he's not suicidal and prefers to work together; she's obviously competent. Besides, he's befriended Michael and he seems pretty adamant on following Rue.
