OMG I fixed my gps problem by switching from power saver to GPS only (this device)....I didn't have to go to hig accuracy LOL

I wish mine was that easy of a fix. It won't even load far enough for gps to be an issue.

It doesn't make sense that it won't load....unless you have no data on your phone? (Or have straight talk....if the choice was straight talk or no cell phone I'd probably go with no cell phone)

Well, I do have straight talk. And up until they added the special research to it, PoGo worked just fine.
(I'm guessing you're also privileged enough to gave wifi at home. If it wasn't for my (apparently shitty to some people) straight talk phone, I wouldn't be on here at all right now.)

Although....the game runs just fine without wifi, I just seem to need a wifi connection to get it to initially load/log me in. Once that's done, it usually operates fine so...idk what's going on with it really.

Well, here, straight talk runs off of verizon and the phone I had when Pokemon Go came out....coould be updated to the bare minimum version of android it needed, but straight talk wouldn't allow updates, would not unlock the phone so I could attempt it on my own....and just thinking of calling their customer service/support makes me want to end myself. Literally.

Without wifi, I would not be on this website probably. Be we had internet before cell phones were a big thing at least. (And, with current rates, it is fairly cheap, and depending on your financial situation, well, one of my friends had okay internet form ATT for like 15 dollars I think? Dunno if you can afford that or if that offer or whatever he had is where you live...)

Still doesn't make sense why you need wifi....and Niantic....well it seems the only one to complain is on the actual app....

Check to see if Restrict Background App Data is on or not unther settings...if it is turn it off. Check for it on play store and play services as well (for some people, those being data restricted was the problem)

Or did you hit the cap before straight talk throttles you? (When I had them, I was always throttled...so slow. It was like back before any 3G) Or are they throttling you like they did me? D:

Another suggests turning off power saver mode if you have it (I assume it means on phone because if you can't log in, you can't get to the setting in the app)

In case a setting got messed up or whatever: another person had disabled Google Play Store from using background data when not on WiFi, and changing that got Pokemon Go to work for them, which Idek if you can do that with your phone....or mine either.

Another says reset app preferences in the settings I think? (Phone settings)

Most are talking about data and google play services, so maybe check that? On the off chance a setting got changed by accident, on purpose, or your phone just decided to change the setting>

Or maybe you tried all of them and yeah .-.

Checked everything, but nothing has data restricted set and I almost never have power saver mode on.
I ALWAYS hit my high-speed data cap quickly just catching up on my youtube subscribed channels, but running on the low-speed data has never effected PoGo on my phone until the "special research" update.

Well, Idk? I can't see the special research adding much in the sense of data usage....and even if it did....it shouldn't effect logging in....is there a way to send in a bug report that isn't in the app itself?

Maybe. But unless others are having the same issue, nothing will be done about it.

I doubt you're the only one, no matter what is causing the issue, you know?

I set mine to GPS this device or whatever...not using wifi or anything else, just the device's location to determine things and all.

Well, for me, it would work on battery/power saver location, but it would on gps only. idek.

Wish it would load all the time. It seems to load in late evening to early morning without wifi mostly fine, but during the hours when I actually want to go play, ot doesn't.

I found a thing for $10 it's a portable wifi and it's free monthly wifi too just the $10 for connection one time fee I am gonna see if it helps my signal since it's a mobile wifi I can wifi anywhere

Freedom pop sales it and it's on sale for the $10 right now

Spent three hours out and about with my wife and son today, just catching Squirtle, spinning PokeStops, and battling gyms and raids.

I can't get out today to get special Squirtle in clothes but I have Pikachu in hat and glasses

Event Squirtle doesn't have clothes, just glasses.

Gonna try to hunt Pokemans when I'm out Wednesday. I want to find the new Pikachu. D:

There were like no raids in my area, the gyms are 1-3 miles apart....so not happening. But I did catch quite a few squirtle, finally got a BLASTOISE!

And got a sunburn lol

I got a gecko thing, not that I really wanted it but it was new. Still trying to catch a ditto, and got a sunhat pikachu while meandering about in the too-hot parking lot while waiting for my sister in law to meet for lunch.

Been trying to catch a Pikachu with not-crap stats since the game launched.

FINALLY hatched a Pichu this morning with two peak stats. Guess who became a Raichu within minutes of being born?

I bet all my pokemon suck stats wise, but I don't really care. No one gathers for raids really (and if there is a special thing like articuno? They travel somewhere else to do it) and so, only one and two star raids for me (so I don't need good pokemon lol)

How do you tell if something is peak? Is that when it says something is great? I am confused by one of my pokemon that has two "great!" stats but also stats that are kinda basic. Does that mean the third is super low for a crummy average?

No gecko-thing after checking again. I guess I abandoned it as I'm running low on pokeballs again. I do have several pokemon just a few candies away from evolving but it takes me so long to get those few catches when I'm at home that often I find a better one and switch to that one instead. 'tis the story with my weepinbell, and my whismer.

The overall assessment judges the combined total of the Pokemon's stats. The top tier message there means that the total is 37 or higher, with a possible maximum of 45.

The description of the Pokemon's stats is actually a description of just how good the Pokemon's highest stat (singular). The top tier message there means it's a 15, and the next tier down means 13-14. That said, if the appraiser lists two top stats, obviously that number applies to both of them. (An absolutely perfect Pokemon would list all three stats.)

You can sort of pick up the other stats by implication. If the Pokemon is listed as being a "wonder" (to use the Team Mystic label) but it only has one top stat which is only listed as "impressed" (instead of "incredible") then you know its total must be at least 37, but it couldn't possibly be higher than 40. The only possible stat spreads or this combination, then, are 13/12/12, 14/12/11, and 14/13/10. Any other combination would mean that the report would say something different.

Conversely, if it's listed as "caught my attention" but the top stat is "incredible" that means its stat total is 30-36, and one of those stats is a 15, which means that either one stat is complete garbage, or both other stats are middling. (It's theoretically possible for a "caught my attention" Pokemon to have two incredible stats. That would mean 15/15/0.)

Online calculators can combine these reports with the values known to you -- the Pokemon's CP, HP, and level (a maxed out Pokemon's level is equal to twice your trainer level) -- as well as the master list of the Pokemon species' base stats (which is derived from the stat tables in the main-series games) to figure out what possible combinations of values could give the results you see. It's PROBABLY not important to know it at that precision because the game mechanics never make a direct stat-to-stat matchup a deciding factor: the fact that you never have direct human-vs-human battles means that you're not trying to optimize around surviving attacks with a sliver of health like the metagame in the main-series games does.

Just knowing that your sweeper-type has high Attack or that your tank-type has high Defense is good enough.

...there's a lot more technical stuff here than I thought. I just use the trainer "appraise" features (Instinct) and "can battle with the best of them" I assume is the highest praise, but often I'll have one that's "really strong" or even "okay" but will reference one or more specific stats as being of note.

My original bulbasaur I've still got is "battle with the best of them" with all three stats as "great." He's still only cp 10 though and I keep wondering if it's feasible to level him up higher or if he's set at my trainer level 1 self.

Whoa, a perfect Bulbasaur. It would totally be worth it if you can come up with the candies for it. It'd be a LOT of work, but it would kick serious bulb. It's not capped at your level when you caught it; the cap raises when you level up.

Ah, handy! And not quite perfect. I checked again and he's "really strong." And huge. My "best of them" with "great" stats being "the best [he's] ever seen" would be my jumpluff. He's still not very high on the cp end though. I caught him fairly early.

And I am missing a lot the past couple days. Yes, I do have the treeko I thought I had but decided I didn't. My Rhydon got punted from a gym in short order a couple days ago, but Raichu #1 is still holding his spot.
