I've found that the media generally presents paganism in one of two ways:

Option A; blood, murder, sacrifice, ugly old hags, all the usual propaganda that make you think of Halloween and the wicked witch of the west (of who, by the way, i do a fair imitation ^.^)

Option B; even more unrealistic, as practitioners of pagan ways are generally shown as beautiful (in this case either nice or nasty) in the glamour-model sense, able to get anything by wriggling their cute little noses or snapping their fingers or generally pointing at thin air, as in Charmed, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Bewitched, etc.

Neither are too accurate.

Feel free to ask questions and we'll answer to the best of our abilities, most everyone here at some point has faced the "interview" in some way or other. In England, where Tai-chan and i live, Paganism is one of the fastest growing belief systems and a fair number of our police force have recently admitted to believing in at least some of its ways if not practicing them.

Nothing i love less about being a witch than being told i don't exist ^.^

Sushi 05-29-2011 02:16 PM

How interesting. I had no idea about that.

Gallowsraven 05-29-2011 02:25 PM

About what? the media portraits or that i get told i don't exist? :D

On the tea front . . . i only drink it if my boyfriend's made it, not even if i have. Dunno why.

Sushi 05-29-2011 02:28 PM

In England, how it's the fastest growing belief.

I like Black tea, but green tea is good too. Don't think I've had much else.

Taiania 05-29-2011 02:31 PM

I've tried the redbush stuff and that's ok. :)

Sushi 05-29-2011 02:33 PM

Oh yeah? Sounds interesting.

Black tea is most common around here. It's kinda hard to find other stuff unless it's in a bottle.

Gallowsraven 05-29-2011 02:54 PM

Prefer green tea, which i will drink regardless of who made it so long as it contains lemon and honey. Started drinking it to help with acne, it contains a lot of good anti-oxidents, and it just grew on me ^.^

Taiania 05-29-2011 03:49 PM

I need to try green tea. I tried black tea but couldn't get on with it. It's great for a anti flu steam though.

Lunaryon 05-30-2011 12:24 AM

I've been trying a lot of different types of teas out. I really like chocolate mint tea, Earl Grey, and Chamomile teas.

Taiania 05-30-2011 12:54 PM

How is everyone today :)

Lunaryon 05-30-2011 01:31 PM

I'm doing well Tai.

Taiania 05-30-2011 01:40 PM

Cool ^_^ I'm sitting, resting my feet and my head. Long day at work was long.

Lunaryon 05-30-2011 01:42 PM

That sounds like it was long. I'm just getting up.

Taiania 05-30-2011 02:45 PM

Hehe wish I was ^_^

Taiania 05-31-2011 02:02 PM

Yaaaaay, three days off :D

Lunaryon 05-31-2011 04:37 PM

You've got three days off? From what? Glad to see you though.

Taiania 05-31-2011 04:59 PM

From my dead end job lol. It's nice to have a few days off to chill, see old friends and heal. Stupid shelf¬_¬

Lunaryon 05-31-2011 07:07 PM

A shelf gave you three days off? That's uhh... Odd.
But, anyways... I have a question. Can someone be aligned elementally to one of the Periodic Elements?

Taiania 06-01-2011 04:48 AM

Naa I had three days off, it just happens that I slammed my head into a shelf, leaving a cut and a very sore head, just before. lol

I've never heard of it before but if we are talking about eastern elements then metal at least is included.

Lunaryon 06-01-2011 09:10 AM

No... He seems to have a really weird connection to Chlorine. I've never seen anything like it. He's vertually immune to the effects of chlorinated water, and he says that he's actually had a bit of chlorine spilled in his eyes before, and it just sort of itched. The chlorine didn't even affect his eyesight.

Taiania 06-01-2011 12:03 PM

Wow. He's so lucky. That stuff's usually vicious.

Lunaryon 06-01-2011 12:15 PM

I know... But at the same time I a little worried, he seems to be aligned with a rather nasty thing, and he's both my little brother and one of the nicest people I know... Unless you get him mad, then he's actually really scary.

Kenly 06-01-2011 01:22 PM

sounds a lot like my little brother. he's a great guy, unless you make him mad. then... stay out of his way. he gets real quiet and creepy-like.

Taiania 06-01-2011 01:46 PM

To be honest those personalities strike me as fire elements. :)
They can be a little unstable and often fierce but their hearts are in the right place.

Lunaryon 06-01-2011 01:50 PM

That's different. One time this kid kept insunuating that my brother was gay, and just pushing his buttons. Now the kid was nearly twice the size of my brother. When my brother lost his temper, he lifted this kid over his head with one hand, and threw him five or six feet through the air. It was kind of terrorfying.

Taiania 06-01-2011 02:27 PM

That's incredible @_@ I'm impressed to be honest.

Lunaryon 06-01-2011 02:31 PM

Yeah... The really scary thing is that for nearly an hour afterwords, his eyes were red. Not the sclara, but the iris itself.

Kenly 06-01-2011 02:41 PM

i think it's usually the fire elements that have their eyes shift color, cuz my cousin's does it too, when she's really worked up. and, yes, she's a fire element.

i wouldn't be surprised if my little brother's fire, too, honestly.

Taiania 06-01-2011 02:44 PM

Sounds right.
My eyes change colour too with fire as my secondary element. And fire elements are known for their strength also.
I'm all about the duality baby. :P

Lunaryon 06-01-2011 02:49 PM

Isn't chlorine part of most explosives, which could be considered like a sub-thingy of fire?

Taiania 06-01-2011 02:55 PM

It is flammable so I guess you could say that yes ^_^

Lunaryon 06-01-2011 02:58 PM

That might explain it... And I have another question, can someone who doesn't believe in magic do magic?

Taiania 06-01-2011 02:59 PM

Yes and no. Yes they can change things via will and energy. But no I wouldn't call it "magic" as it's not intentional. It just depends on what you wish to name it really. :)

Lunaryon 06-01-2011 03:01 PM

Okay... Then my brother also seems good at that. And it's all my fault. I'm so going to get karma all over me for this. *Sigh*

Taiania 06-01-2011 03:02 PM

Why? It's his will. You can't change that. His will, his karma. :)

Lunaryon 06-01-2011 03:09 PM

But I taught him how to do it. Back before I learned that it was magic, I used it a lot, for all kinds of things... Things would fly from one hand to the other, I made someone forget what they were doing... And when my brother noticed, I explained how I did it, and taught him... It's not that he's using it for bad things, but he uses it alot, mainly doing odd things that would normally be considered breaking various laws of Physics.

Taiania 06-01-2011 03:11 PM

I don't see why that's bad. Sounds like fun to me :)

Lunaryon 06-01-2011 03:14 PM

Doesn't that like brake some code of conduct or something? I mean it's messing with the very nature of reality... Isn't that dangerous?

Taiania 06-01-2011 03:18 PM

It depends how far you go. Moving things around a room isn't going to hurt anyone. An you could do the same thing with your hand. Embrace the skills and be proud of them is the way I see things.

Lunaryon 06-01-2011 03:22 PM

I guess... I just hope he keeps it at harmless stuff. I don't want to know what he could do if angered. *shudder*
