I don't think I got enough sleep either, but I'm also not feeling well. I feel groggy and worn out.

BakedGewds 08-16-2012 09:09 PM

That's not good. D: Either becuase you don't get enough or get too much. I've had both of those before. x_x

Serra Britt 08-16-2012 09:13 PM

I don't like sleeping a lot. My average is 6-7 hours. Works for me but then again I'm not terribly active.

BakedGewds 08-16-2012 09:14 PM

I'm not very active either. But I have to stay up till 7 to get a bed, otherwise I'm stuck sleeping on the floor which is a nono for me.

Serra Britt 08-16-2012 09:16 PM

I don't mind so much sleeping on the floor. But I do have my own bed, luckily.

BakedGewds 08-16-2012 09:18 PM

Yea, I live with my mom and she makes me pay rent to sleep on the pantry floor?
My moms crazy. So I just wait till my sisters go to school then snag their beds.

Serra Britt 08-16-2012 09:22 PM

Geez :/ You'd think with rent you'd get some amenities like...a bed... That sucks.

BakedGewds 08-16-2012 09:23 PM

Yea I know.
But apparently I pay for the roof over my head only.

Serra Britt 08-16-2012 09:25 PM

That's something...but I kind of think you deserve more >.>

Ginger 08-16-2012 09:30 PM

You could try looking in your local paper for a room to rent. It sounds like you have a job so you can try to save a bit over the next month for furniture for a potential room for when you move out. Your home life doesn't sound pleasant if you have to sleep on the pantry floor. If you're underage and your parents turn you in as a runaway, you need to tell the police of your situation. You might be able to get some help. There is also emancipation. If you're 18 or older your parents cannot tell you to stay at their house. You are legally an adult and can move out.

BakedGewds 08-16-2012 09:34 PM

I'm over 18, but I'm unemployed. I do commissions for the bit of money I do get, but it's really not much. My mom charges 100$ a month just cause. I would gladly pay the rent if I had a job or more money, but I only get about $200 a month from commissions and now that I'm starting college I really need it to save for a car and college books. I thought parents wanted to get their kids ahead. xD
I've explained my situation with my mom, but the only reply I ever get is "If you don't like it, there's the door."

I would leave, but I live in the dinkiest little poor town there is, there are no places for me to go. u _ u

Ginger 08-16-2012 09:36 PM

Have you applied for the pell grant?

edit; Also, your mother sounds like a fat lazy bitch. I could be wrong, but most parents like that really put no thought or care into their attitudes or appearances.

Serra Britt 08-16-2012 09:36 PM

Baked :x I wish there was something I could do for you but there isn't really. I'll hope you can find a solid job to help you earn some to get out of there.

BakedGewds 08-16-2012 09:39 PM

I love my mom, but I hate her.
She's not lazy, but she's miserable and takes it out on me. It's obvious to everyone around us too.

There's just not much I can do. xD
I'm waiting till October when I get my grant and student loan money, then I can get a car and look for jobs in other towns. I think I've applied to the whole ten places in this town.
u _ u
Seriously. This ton is more like a neighborhood.
So dinky.

Serra Britt 08-16-2012 09:41 PM

I'll wish you the best then Baked.

Ginger 08-16-2012 09:43 PM

If I was in your situation, I would use the remaining funds from grants to buy a cheap but solid car, live in it until I could find a job (work study at your college maybe?), and possibly round some roommates together when you save enough for a place to rent. You can live in your car as long as you are safe about it. Tinted windows would be a plus. You can get a membership at a 24-hour fitness place for about $45/month depending where you are and shower there. I think some of them might have wi-fi access. You could do your laundry at a laundry mat.
