Yep, you can see the location usually. Some will just say the name, but if you get an alolan egg from it, the egg will say the location (And trading it counts towards plenty of miles to the one medal....kind of creepy if someone is a creep....I just like seeing a place and being like HOW FAR AWAY IS THAT I WONDER?!)

Can you hold a maximum number of gifts? I feel like walking to local landmarks for gifts to send but so, none want to cooperate.

As far as I can tell, gifts just contribute to your maximum item capacity like anything else.

Gift do not contribute to the number of items you're carrying and you can carry up to 10 of them.

And I like to HOARD the gifts. I WANT AN ALOLAN EGG FROM WHERE YOU ARE FROM!

So far away....so many miles if I trade the pokemon from the eggu!

How does the trading work? Anything special beyond the usual dude for dude thing?

Well, if one of you does not have the pokemon (like...if you traded me a munchlax and I traded you a wurmple) it would count as a special trade and that costs 20k stardust but goes down based on friend level and can only be done once a day (period).

You must be close to each other.

I believe Alolan and event pokemon count as their own separate pokemon when trading, even if you have caught the normal edition (pikachu vs christmas pikachu), but I could be wrong.

Annoyingly, it looks like trading causes the Pokemon's stats to be rerolled, because I sent my wife a Pokemon with awesome stats ("wonder") and it showed up as CRAP on her end. :/

Yeah they randomize stats to prevent someone from sending a cruddy one for a good one so that both partys are equal

Another thing I read was I think they have a block on resending a previous sent one so one trade per Poke

Lol. I think my postcards are like....60% one of the 3 stops where I work, and 40% churches, since those are super frequent in the area I'm usually at and are all pokestops...

Mine isn't really a glitch, it's just the same issue I've been having since research was added: the login page keeps timing out.

Painted electrical boxes over here, or artwork on street corners and such. Churches always seem to have a stop in front of them but there aren't too many around me. The totem poles at the mall refuse to drop a gift.

Lol, so depending on the direction I go, there are either 4 or 5 churches just in the (approximate) 11 block walk to the museum. And 1 mural, and a bar.

There are some other fun stops in the area, but until my phone will load PoGo properly without wifi, I can't play/get to them. Although, I might try to get PoGo up this weekend since I plan on heading to the farmer's market and I can swing by the library on the way and use the wifi to get the game to load.

I've been getting back into this game. I'm on Team Valor now, with my partner.

Ive been to Kentucky for the summer about 15 years ago my grandparents lived there well grandmas passed now and I havnt heard from grandpa since then so no clue if hes STILL there but yeah Ive been :)


Our poke stops are on about every córner painted utility boxs then libraries and this one library has a few bronze sculptures across the street (4 diffrent stops there) in one, churches are good bits and we have lots of restraunt artifact types like fountains paintings etc and then Starbucks and sprint and tmobile locations
We have lots of stops but my problem is I cant be in hot heat with ashma and meds so I have to play on Mondays and Fridays errand dayz when I get a ride so I play in the car (driveby stops) because they wont stop to actually play so its red lights bits traffic hits etc or if its an actual errand stop I do pretty good though actually (if the game loads that day or not is my downfall) Ive got lucky and won a gym at a red light too
My living room is a hot spot on getting rare ones too

Ive been Playing garfield go and jurrassic park go too

Went walking downtown to the park. So many stops. So many pokemon. I quit playing after my tour because my battery was heading for 2/3rds gone, I haven't walked back yet, and I was honestly getting tired of it. I had to upgrade my bag but I kept somewhat ahead on the number of balls I was throwing. Gained a level on just that. I think I caught around 50-60 pokemon. Sadly, my gift allotment filled up at the skytrain station so no postcards from the park or Lord Stanley.

Still dealing with the stupid ditto. I've been assuming it's been the "easy" pokemon that, for some reason, are not easy and take off after one shot.

Tomorrow is day 7, too! Mayhaps I'll get myself a water stone.

Well, with ditto, all I can say is catch all the annoyingly common pokemon, like rattata and pidgey.

Magikarps are really rare here, like I've caught maybe 8 over a year of playing. One is a shiny though :D

I've never seen any shiny pokemon, but I have seen some pretty neat looking Marrowak that look like they have some sort of voodoo action going on.

I now have an egg from every friend (I dont know if its auto egg every time) but open gifts when you have OPEN EGG CARRYING SPOTS I open gifts at 7/9egg spaces and BOOM gift eggs
