Have not worked on my apron yet. Did finish my mermaid tail blanket though.
|
Oh man one week left and I haven't even doodled an apron XD
|
I plan on attempting to get my apron finished tomorrow...
Either that or work on a fox. Or blanket. Or mittens. XP |
I picked up a bamboo pen for windows Ink the other day on sale. Imma see if it will actually work with my touch screen or not, and try to doodle some this month since I haven't doodled nuffin XD
|
I demand a doodle of Derpy in a vintage apron! XD
|
I have no idea what even to do for an apron. >.>
I have been sewing pouches fr jewelry all week. |
Hmmm....I really should try to get something done on my apron tomorrow...since November is almost over...
I didn't do much on any of my "needs done by Christmas" projects. Did get the fox head for a fox I'm working on almost done. And did frog a barely started blanket, fo math to figure out a hopefully nice stitch pattern, and got 6 out of 8 of the set up rows done. |
Awesome snowman, Den!

AHH! Kaderin don't even mention the "C" word. >.< I have three big projects I need to get done and I am waiting for components for all of them to come in the mail. >.< |

Well, Derpy is a good model ^^
|
Got home today from visiting northern Iowa... I'll finish my apron tomorrow or Tuesday. I got a little work started on making a Dungeons & Dragons/Pathfinder mini.
|
"Now I want a real apwon!"
|
I gotta get to work, I've been either slacking off or putting my focus on cosplays for an upcoming con. T_T I do want to get at least one finished before the month ends. D:
|
You can do it!!!
Go Kitty! Ugh, I wanna make mittens, but I don't have the right loom. XP I mean, I could probably wing it based on general sizes on the loom I have, but ugh...too much work to try to figure out the thumb part conversion... |
I wanna make mittens, too, but I have a sweater to work on, and my apron, and a bunch of other projects that I meant to do earlier...
|
I actually don't have too much on my crafting plate that actually has a deadline other than 1 scarf, 1 fox, and the apron for this month's challenge...
I would like to be able to make the mittens for part of a Christmas also, but they're not necessarily a high priority item. |
I want flip top mittens that have full gloves underneath the flip top, because I get colder easier than the rest of my family, and gloves don't keep my fingertips warm enough for my liking.
|
Those are pretty nice! I would love to learn to make those. Unfortunately, normal gloves seem to be almost impossible to find a good loom knit pattern for. Even mittens are kind of hard to find, though I do have 1 good-looking basic pattern.
|
They finally shipped the item I need to make a woodburned journal for a friend of mine for Yule this year. <3 I should have it by Monday.
|
Oooh! Sounds awesome!
Also, **Craft-A-Long Announcement** I have decided that with Christmas, Hanukkah, Yule, Winter Solstice, and all the other winter holidays and festivities coming up, we'll take a break from our craft a long for December. But do feel free to share your projects and finished presents and we will bring back our themes starting in January! And don't forget, you still have a few days left to make your apron! |
I just need to sew the pocket onto my apron and then I'll be done. :3
|
I am learning to crochet. Perhaps I can crochet an apron? lol... no... probably not.
|
you could crochet dishtowels! (i would use Lily's Sugar and Cream cotton yarn for that.) :)
|
I have a literal trash bag of yarn that was gifted to us that I have to get through before I am allowed to buy anything new, so alas no dish towels for me lol
|
S&C is good for washcloths, too.
|
agreed, Den!
Mekatra - sounds like a scrapghan (scrap afghan) to me! =) |
Stashbuster afghan FTW!
|
Lol. If that's all the yarn you need to get through before you're allowed to buy then maybe I should exercise better will and try to get through at least one of my bins of yarn before I buy anything else...
Except that the Mandala (Lion Brand) cakes have such pretty ones and I want to buy the bright rainbow one for a blanket. (So like....maybe 5 or 6 of them just to be safe.) I am definitely not finishing my apron in time. I didn't buy quite enough fabric for my trim pieces, so I have to buy more on Saturday. I'd buy tomorrow except I don't get paid till friday. |
My hubby and I are moving into a travel trailer in 5 months and won't have a storage unit anymore, so we have to get rid of... well pretty much everything. So alas, my stash of weaving cottons and acrylic yarns haev to go since they don't store well. The hubby has to get rid of/use up a bunch of his supplies too.
My herb collection for teas has to be at least halved as well. T_T |
Awww. That sucks! I don't know if I could part with so much yarn!
Like, the Red Heart brand and other cheapo yarns, yes. But 90% of my yarn stash is legitimately in the $5-6 per skein and up range. And also really pretty colors! |
Luckily this was almost all given to me for free, so I'm not too fussed to use it up and give it away. There were a couple skeins in there that were the bamboo blend stuff that is super soft, I gifted those to my mother since she loved them dearly.
Having to weave up all my collection of cottons is going to make me sad though. It was kind of expensive to get as many colors as I have. I know eventually I'll get it back because we'll sell the woven pieces at faires, but still. It just seems... bah I also have been telling myself that hoarding up crafting supplies doesn't make them any more valuable, they're just sitting there wishing to be turned into something.. but it's a hard sell to my mind. |
Yeah, I do need to get better about using what I have before buying more (damn thosr yarn companies with their pretty yarn cakes and soft color gradients!). I do have a couple big projects (one of which probably won't happen just due to the cost of scales that I don't have, but would need for it) planned for next year, which should help with the stash-busting as long as I don't buy unless I 100% need a yarn that I don't have for a particular project.
|
Trystan! I found a pattern for you!
|
Derpy, give me your measurements and I'll try? XD
Can't promise it will turn out any good though. Ah, parting with stuff sounds hard, especially if that's craft supplies. I do have some I could probably get rid of if I absolutely had to, but for the most part I'd rather live in a cramped apartment than throw away my stash of "things supposed to become even more awesome things once I have enough time and energy" Moving is a good thing though? If so, congratulations! (Otherwise, hope you'll find a better place soon) |
Awesome, Den..... but I think I'll pass on that one! XD
|
Derpy attempts to measure himself, but gets tangled up in the tape measure. "I gotta wait for Kadewin to get home from work..."
Ah, that us great, Den! XD |
if it were a knitting pattern, I'd be making a bunch for friends and myself. In the meantime, I made the top part of the head for a porcelain doll I have, so now she can wear wigs without them looking strange. I have a whole package of Sculpey and 3/4 of a package left, so I'll prolly be making some other stuff with it, soon.
|
Okay, so it's difficult to get an accurate measurement of Derpy, but for anyone interested in attempting Derpy clothes, his approximate measurements are:
Neck circumference: 6.5 inches Body circumference: 8 inches Length (neck to waist): 1.75 inches Length (waist to top of feet): 2 inches Wing location (for slit in back of clothing): starts .25 inches below neck, stops .25 inches above waist |
So I made a thing last night... Took 1/4th of a block of sculpey.
