Three pokemon in gyms today. Walrus bro is still in the gym down the street. I got my aggro thing (can you tell these are from gens I don't know?) into a gym at a nearby totem pole (which I've yet to find), and one more in the mall which is rampant for swapping fast. I expect that one to come back pretty quickly.

The mall stop (more totem poles) had three shiny or special eevee things in it. There was a white eevee, a green-ish jolteon, and a purple-ish vaporeon. I'm jealous! I'm wondering they're eggs as I've yet to see any different looking eevees around, though they seem to be common enough. (Four on my radar when I went for a walk today, but didn't actually see them). They had no flareon so I filled the gap with my ninetails, who is a little meaner than my flareon.

Also, hatched an electric Geodude from Texas. He has little spikes on his head. Thought he was ice based to start. Now I'm sitting at 2 geodudes and 1 graveller. Not sure how to approach this situation, as regular geodude is a wee bit better than the one my Graveller started as, and now there's Texas 'dude.

Also, was out with my sister and managed a drive by Ratticate in a gym. Also a drive-by Pidgeot. Both are back now, but Walrus remains!

I have indeed started on Celebi, and it's really frustrating that it requires you to make three NEW friends, because it means that anyone who jumped on the friend system before the requirement was announced is going to have a harder time.

Also, there is a "remove" friend option that I can see on the bottom of each profile, but not sure how that would affect things. Would probably have to restart friendship ratings. I'm not even at that research yet though.

Catching a Ditto and 10 Ghost Pokemon took me for-fucking-ever. So glad to be passed that finally!
Step 7 is gonna take me some time too though, I'm still at least 100 candies away from evolving my Magikarp and I've only got access to the one gym and 10 raids at one gym...!

I swear if it were another legendary apart from Mew, Celebi and Mewtwo this stuff would be more trouble for me than it's worth.

I'm on those Ghost pokemon. I would probably be done if I didn't forget that I need them much of the time.

I'm still on stage 1 for Celebi (no idea who that actually is). When does the "add 3 friends" thing come in?

I'm at least 100 candies from evolving my Magikarp and 40-100 away from evolving one of my evolved grass types.

This is way better than being stuck on the ghost types IMO. I don't go out at night so for that I had to waste my phone battery keeping the game open while I was idol at home from 8pm to when I went to bed at 2am and I'd be lucky to get one ghost out of that!

I only need to catch like 3 more treecko but they have disappeared.

Everything else is so far away from the evolving.

Ghosties did take me a bit, but I got them eventually (Wal-Mart helped a lot lol)

Lol, I'm not surprised that Wal-Mart is haunted!

I've got 'Throw an excellent curveball' in my future (I accidentally glimpsed a list of all the phases while looking up how to catch Mewtwo). Forget excellent, I've only ever thrown one sucessful curveball!
I am so not looking forward to the number of balls I'm gonna waste on that.

I get you, I was a dunce with great throws when I began these missions as well.
In fact. I still hardly ever manage an excellent throw so this future excellent curveball is a double weakness for me.

Curveballs aren't THAT hard to get the hang of:

1. Spin your finger in a clockwise circle until the ball reaches full speed.
2. Move your finger to the right side of the screen.
3. Flick the ball up and to the left (more left than up).

You can also mirror things, using a counter-clockwise circle and flicking from the left side. Do whichever is more comfortable for how you hold your phone and your handedness.

To get an Excellent, you have to hit the Pokemon inside the colored circle when it's small (less than around 40% of its maximum size). This is much easier on larger Pokemon. Don't even TRY on Wurmple. I can get Nice curveballs 90% of the time and Great curveballs (less than around 70%) around 50% of the time.

It's totally worth it to try. You get bonuses for curveballs AND for nice/great/excellent throws, plus getting nice/great/excellent improves catch rate.

Well, you should be practicing curveballs BEFORE you get to the mission, that way you're not trying to learn the technique at the last minute.

I didn't know you could spin balls :0 I just tried and wasted 10 blue balls I keep throwing them off the screen

I don't really get to hit gyms and I've never got to do a raid
