"Just as well, I think I will go and have a look at a different station," said Deedee. "I am very intrigued by some of these games..."
"I think that may be for the best," said Greta with a nod, "I hope you understand how normal people work before you try to talk to them again!" said Katie, unable to resist a final jab.
This time, Deedee gave the only appropriate human response: he blew a raspberry at her. "Come, Mary! We've got obese people to dunk and balloons to burst!"
Katie returned his raspberry. "I think you've been spending a little to much time with your father, his obstinate behavior is rubbing off on you," commented Greta pinching her cheek.
"Me, obstinate?" Randy blinked innocently. "Don't be ridiculous."
Greta snorted and gave him a shove.
He snapped his teeth at her. "I am a perfectly agreeable individual aren't I?" he asked Katie.
Katie smirked at him, "Most of the time..." she said with a snicker. It was at this point that they encountered Nine and his new....girlfriend.
Randy snapped his teeth at her, too, and lifted her up to his shoulders to be carried, whether she liked it or not.
Katie giggled and hung on to him, looking down at Nine and his girlfriend.
"Dad, this is Amanda," said Nine, introducing them to a thin girl with dark brown hair and thick make-up. She raised one limp-wristed hand in disinterested greeting. |
Randy gave her hand a single firm shake, not feeling particularly keen on bending to lick it. She wasn't much to look at and she didn't seem all that friendly--which was about what one might have expected of someone dating Nine. "Pleased to meet you," he said nonetheless.
"Hi," she said despondently, she made no move to ask anyone their names so Nine introduced everyone.
"So how did the two of you meet?" asked Randy, attempting a smile.
"I was at the beach with my girlfriends and he happened to be there," said Amanda as she applied clear gloss to her thin lips.
"Very interesting," murmured Randy, hardly able to pretend that it really was. "We were just on our way to go and find a place to eat. Would the two of you like to join us?" He expected them to decline and continue on their way.
"Sure, I haven't eaten since this morning, it's ok for me to have food now," said Amanda as she texted away at her glittery pink phone.
