@suz my insanity came from being a torturer in babylon ( think Amnesia: the Dark Decent). The aftermath of that before corinth I leave balnk in case we need to write in more storyline. I'm surprised no one noted that Michael never saw Rue's body...
@QMC I was thinking you could make a new item w/ rarity 1 and run it by Suz, if you don't mind. The game can always use more variety in the long run.

Suzerain of Sheol 09-12-2011 11:13 PM

I took note, Funk. Who knows if she'll be an NPC later. :p

And, I'm more than open to item suggestions.

Also, what is attacking Michael's mind now? (Sorry, I'm kind of tired.)

Espy 09-12-2011 11:33 PM

Funk, I tried to elaborate on your Rue post...

Quiet Man Cometh 09-12-2011 11:34 PM

I grew up on Vancouver Island off the coast of British Columbia and the place is crawling with Cougars. Never saw one though. Moved to North Vancouver on the mainland and it's mostly bears here. There was a bear trap down the street this morning, and my cousin who lives high up a mountain gets bears raiding his deep freeze all the time. I've only personally seen one young black bear crossing the street about a block from where we live. I've never really worried about wildlife but cougars you need to watch out for if they're around. My brother's grandfather was out on a trail and had his rifle in one hand, pointing forward. He got a sudden eerie feeling and turned around with enough time to pull the trigger and managed to shoot a cougar that was in the air right behind him. Basically shot it from the hip. Damn lucky.

*Goes to read game thread*

Lev is confusing me...

Basic:
The Presence of the the Nephilim is grinding at Michael's mental block. What is "Presence"? Presence is the aura that surrounds living beings. Some are psychic, some are holy, and some are unholy (named unholy inaccurately b/c mundane people can be considered "unholy". more elaboration later)

Assuming that the Nephilim is within 100 yards of Michael, his pure psychic/unholy aura grates away at the mental block the michael designed to block out all psychic distortion around him. The unholyness amplifies the fear that comes from the nervousness that's developing from the nephilim's presence.

... or something like that. :D

Lev is...experiencing management issues. He is harboring a demon of hunger that was actually the Lions of Tsavo. It feeds off flesh. it gained power from eating the corpse if a Saint, but was hit by a grenade designed for eradicating spirits while doing so. He just believes himself to be the son of the Lord. So he's trying to follow in his footsteps, but too long without flesh drives him into maddening hunger. So, he's a man possessed by an insane demon who has the powers of a saint. Also, sorry for any typos or odd things. This was typed Fromm my phone. At a hotel in Malvern. Arkansas instead of my usual Texarkana.

Quiet Man Cometh 09-13-2011 09:20 PM

I think I follow him sort of, but my character is bound to call him a hypocrite. ;). What with the whole "give me flesh / how dare you kill people who might have meant something to somebody!"

That. :)

Suzerain of Sheol 09-13-2011 09:36 PM

We could really use a reaction from Sage, but who knows when she's going to be around. I don't want to just leave her behind, though. Opinions?

Salone 09-13-2011 09:39 PM

Oh, he is a hypocrite. He justifies feeding himself since it keeps him sane and fuels him, but now he attempts to feed on what is needed instead of his old mindless slaughter (and I mean slaughter). Still hypocrite though. And I enjoy the player character bickering.

As far as Sage goes...no clue Suz. I'd give her a bit, but I know she's a busy person.

Quiet Man Cometh 09-13-2011 09:46 PM

I challenge your dark god!

Salone 09-13-2011 09:58 PM

Oooh, Lev's on a pilgrimage though! He has to track down all the remaining Saints! Gotta catch 'em all!

And then eat them so, by their powers combined, He is Captain of the Planet!

Seriously though, he might consider eating her if he grows hungry enough and she does have some sort of power. Every day without food and him expending powers is another day closer to a Donner Pass reenactment.

Suzerain of Sheol 09-13-2011 10:00 PM

Just wain until she meets Kasdeja...

:p

Actually, what does Lev think of ol' Kas?

Quiet Man Cometh 09-13-2011 10:00 PM

Eeeewww.

I'd say something clever if I had some strategy to back it up...let me think about that for a bit. ;)

Salone 09-13-2011 10:14 PM

He's a might pissed at him for wasting all that life. He only wanted one to feed on, and he only took that because his hunger broke his resolve. He thinks Kas is a wasteful creature that will wind up in his stomach once his usefulness has been used up. And he wants to know why he wants them to take it to Eden if he had 40 armed men under his control to escort him. But he's not wondering that part just yet, since he's all...angsty.

Suzerain of Sheol 09-13-2011 10:47 PM

I can't remember if I mentioned this about the Nephilim yet or not, but Semyaza hates his children, views them as abominations and will not accept any responsibility for them. And, in his absence, they have grown up to become what they are: most of them, emotionless, amoral creatures with no respect for life whatsoever, who view humans as playthings.

Salone 09-13-2011 11:01 PM

Hah. Not attempting to eat it is going to put extreme stress on Na'lsa/Lev then. After all, he could really put that power towards something good. Or at least repurpose its flesh.

Suzerain of Sheol 09-13-2011 11:11 PM

Admittedly, this particular Nephilim (Nephilite?) is insufferably arrogant. But, think about the world he came into. He has this wholly unwarranted legacy of power that sets him above these frail creatures he meets, allowing him to dominate them utterly, and with his child's comprehension of what it means to be a person, it's really the only possible result that could have come about.

I'd go so far as to say that he doesn't understand emotion itself; to him they're just chemicals within the human brain, divorced of meaning, and that he sees humans as little more than animals. Lev intrigues him, since he can sense that he is more, while Shealtiel has gotten under his skin with the knowledge he revealed. He dismisses the others almost out of hand as non-threats.

So, in short, yes, he's hopelessly corrupt and an absolute menace. :p

Espy 09-13-2011 11:28 PM

...-gets confused by the avis-

Salone 09-13-2011 11:59 PM

So you face us with a moral decision about possibly killing something that is highly dangerous but can't really distinguish between right and wrong?

This is the most badass retelling of Short Circuit I've ever heard of. And Johnny 5 just killed 39 people.

So uh...why does it want to tag along, anyway? Was it waiting for us or did we just happen to happen upon it?

Suzerain of Sheol 09-14-2011 10:22 AM

He wasn't waiting for us, as such, but he didn't exactly have faith that his mind-controlled band of outlaws would be able to make it across the Holy Land. Granted, he might be able to make it on his own, but... well, the Sons of Megiddo don't patrol one by one, there's 200,000 of them after all. He couldn't survive them on his own, let alone the Locusts of Abaddon, or Abaddon's armies as he would get farther south (dozens of Rephaim, hundreds of Emim...)

In short, he thinks we actually have a chance.

Salone 09-14-2011 10:41 AM

Woohoo, someone believes in us!

Serra Britt 09-14-2011 01:55 PM

I'll e-mail Sage and try to get her here to post at least something :p

Suzerain of Sheol 09-14-2011 01:58 PM

Oh, you have her email? That's good. Thanks, Serra. :)

Sage 09-14-2011 10:43 PM

Ehehe... >.> As normal Jeanne does nothing, really.

I'll try to be around more, I promise.

Suzerain of Sheol 09-14-2011 11:06 PM

Well, we were stalled out for a while when I was busy, but we're moving again, so whenever you can check is great.

Also, I found that post really interesting. Not the reaction I was expecting. Jeanne's complex.

Funkduder 09-14-2011 11:37 PM

I'm tempted to post something along the lines of "Physical Check Failed" and then throw micheal into a situation where he's definitely going to get a broken bone.....

Salone 09-14-2011 11:54 PM

Sure thing Funk. If you are willing to take the blood of Lev in to your body, he will heal that broken bone. Heh heh heh...

Salone 09-15-2011 09:58 AM

Sigh. I became an old man today. I had some kids playing their school instruments in my yard while they waited for the bus. At 6:30Am. I asked them to stop, they cussed me out. I came back with a gun and found that they wrote "bitch ass nigga " on my mailbox. Told them to get off my lawn. What the he'll are things coming to these days?

Serra Britt 09-15-2011 11:07 AM

I know I shouldn't laugh at that but I did find it a bit funny Salone >.>; Well, I don't think it's a good excuse for them to disrespect you.

Salone 09-15-2011 11:41 AM

It's cool, I found it a bit humorous. What's even funnier is the police officer suggesting I buy rubber bullets. This is the only good thing about living in Texas.

Suzerain of Sheol 09-15-2011 12:48 PM

I just realized that I haven't been posting much with Shealtiel in favor of Kas. Oops.

Also, I really don't care how anyone spells his name, even the ancient texts can't agree on a proper spelling. So, K(a/e)(s/z)d(a/e)(j/y)a, any variant thereof if fine. :p

Espy 09-15-2011 05:29 PM

Uh. I'm assuming Kas just walked by Dante. I'll think up something when I'm not pissed as hell from certain things.

Suzerain of Sheol 09-15-2011 05:31 PM

Or he could be just coming up on Dante now if you want.

I honestly figured that a moment or two had passed and Dante was already in the APC.

Serra Britt 09-15-2011 05:43 PM

I think I'll wait a bit for others before Feenai breaks down anymore. :p

Espy 09-15-2011 06:01 PM

You know, I suppose Dante's being in the APC would be more reasonable. Yeah, I'll stick him in there for now.

Funkduder 09-16-2011 03:45 AM

I think I'll have Michael's fall introduce QMC to the adventure. a'ight? I'll post later b/c I'm tired, but what do guys think of that psuedo venture.

Suzerain of Sheol 09-16-2011 06:58 AM

I'd say talk it out with her, but she's getting her wisdom teeth out today, so she'll probably be out of commission for a day or two.

Quiet Man Cometh 09-16-2011 09:40 PM

No kidding. Feel like I'm going to tip over in my seat right about now. Given that said seat is a couch I might entertain that idea.

Sounds fine Funk. I'm not picky, though I'm not in good enough shape at the moment to pick apart details. Brain just went fuzzy.

Espy 09-17-2011 02:24 PM

Ara, you okay there, Quiet...?

Espy 09-17-2011 02:37 PM

Ok, one Espy-post coming up; Dante's not really trying to injure the neph too badly, but he's got an amazing headache from the sheer power. So, yeah. If Kaz gets kicked in the balls, you'll know why.
