He watches the walking dead…. i don't think it will scare him much. But I did have to change my baking plans. You can't make a cake and not let the small child have any.

Also tiva that is nothing. My coworkers daughter will watch any horror movie and not be phased by it. she is only 4. |

No the trend is parents letting their children watch age inappropriate shows and then wondering why they aren't effected by it later on in life. Reason: Desensitized young because the parent was too damn lazy to wait til they went to bed to watch it.

If you engage said child while watching it, I don't think that you desensitize them. I remember talking with mom about how Aliens work when I was young.

Law, I think in that case, it's more like the desensitization is being handled in an appropriate way.
I don't think it's bad to desensitize kids to a certain level when it comes to gore and sex. Obviously they shouldn't be watching porn and snuff films, but there's nothing wrong with them being at a level where they can understand and talk about sex, or be able to handle being around mild-moderately injured people if it's necessary. Even if they're a tiny lil brat at 4. It's sort of like teaching kids the correct terms for their own anatomy instead of the babied up versions people like to use, because, god forbid, it might be necessary for them to talk about it even at a young age. I dunno. I was desensitized to a lot of gross hospital stuff. Kiddos shouldn't be watchin nasty horror movies doe. |

At four years old, I was telling two other 4-year-old guys who were saying they'd have children together that they couldn't because of "sperms"...

I knew medical stuff, and cop stuff. Like by 7 I could take apart and clean a pistol but I wasn't allowed to shoot a real one til i was 12.
