Espy's eyes roamed around before they settled on the person who had introduced himself as the creator of the arena. Could I battle him, perhaps...? He looks as if his skills might be similar to mine...but what of his skill level?

Fakir still recording in his book looks up to see Espy staring at him with a look of deep thought. "Is there something you need mortal?" his tone was blank and his concentration seemed by his voice to be in another place.

"Not...much. I only wanted to know if I could...challenge you," Espy replied, resisting the urge to fly at Fakir.

(What's that item you're wearing around your waist?)

"Yes there was no rule stating you could not, thus i cannot refuse if you wish to challenge me." He sat calm and collected watching espy fight back the urge to rush at him. "Though i have not met a mortal with the powers to overcome a sentinel, let alone one such as myself. But you may try."
(if the good side illusion was still in effect /cant remember/ it would drop for you as Fakir spoke, revealing his grey robes, the three orbs orbiting around him etc.)

Espy unsheathed her last blade and eyed Fakir cautiously. Suddenly, without further warning, she lunged for him with one arm stretched out to slash at his throat. Magic and blades...? Alchemy may be useful here.

Still sitting down fakir raised his arm as her blade smashed into the side of it making a loud clang as metal hit metal though his arm did not move from the impact, just stopped the blade. "Such a hasty one we have here." Fakirs eyes glanced upwards briefly and smiled at the blade locked espy.

Push as she may, Espy's strength had no effect on Fakir. Taking a step back, she vanished for an instant and appeared behind him. She slammed her palm onto the ground, and the transmutation circle on her hand triggered an alchemical effect, causing the earth below them to erupt into flames.

(First of all, the "vanishing" is not teleportation. She's able to become invisible to short periods of time. Second, Espy is not affect by fire.)

As Espy stepped back a flash appeared where she was standing, as if a swordsman dropped from the sky leaving a small white streak where a blade had slashed down, though nothing was on the ground where the swordsman would have landed. Fakir leaned forward as she disappeared and kicked off as he heard the familiar pitch of fire form from the transmutation circle. "So you've dabbled in the magics as well?" He stated, holding out his arms as a circle of blue spread under her feet before freezing whatever was above it.
she could tell he was mocking her, for the magic was the exact inverse of the one she just cast, size and everything.

...Ice, eh? Then let's try....

Espy leapt aside, avoided the frozen ground, and this time put both hands to the ground. The next transmutation took longer than the first. A pillar of earth rose up, twisting and turning, and took the form of a long dragon that Espy controlled with her willpower.

Looks like a minor fire transmutation won't work here...

"Beautiful form," Fakir complimented on the execution of the earth dragon spell. "So you've done more then dabble, thats good you got higher on the list of potential world destroyers" he once again mimed the motions though in a much faster time a rift of black liquid formed and crawled to the surface, once again an inverse of the spell cast took the shape of a similar dragon.
"what trumps earth better than what lies beneath it?" he joked his eyes never wavering from his opponent across the field.
/She has skill as a mage Im quite impressed. I didn't think any mortals here would show anything more than a pitchfork and club style of battle, but it seems Ive snagged a mage./ he thought to himself
