Nifty sword, Espy. What material is that?
Foamboard. I still need to sand and shape, then gesso and paint.
Ohhhh - pointy! *grabby hands*
HAT!
I made it for myself, but I look a hot mess today, so I had my little guy model it for me. And yes, those pom-poms are crocheted too. I can't make fuzzy poms to save my life, but these things are so freakin' easy! If anybody's interested, I can send you to where I got the pattern from. :D |
Are those your kids? Those babies are *pardon my language* fucking adorable!
:f-heart2: Yups, those be mah behbehs. And thank you! They are rotten little things, lol. I'm actually surprised I caught them both smiling at the same time. She usually has the same face as her daddy (the guy holdin' her) when I pull out a camera.
Lol! Awwww! <3 Cuties!
:D They are something else, lol. They had their first "fight" today. Cheeks (the one in the hat) tried to take something (I think it was an empty dice bag I made) from Little Miss (the poof head, lol) and she held on for dear life while screeching at him and pulling it back towards her. It was too cute.
I used to make fuzzy pompoms as kid with the basic wrap yarn around a couple of discs, cut, tie method. Never did much with them. Put a couple on my ice skates, and made others into little people.
My sister has a kid who was throwing her balloon at her when she was quilting. That didn't last long. Needle stab *pop*. "I'm sorry honey, but that's what happens when you throw balloons at mommy and she's holding sharp things." |
I've threatened to do that to my 3 year old, he keeps his balloons away from me while I'm "playing" with my yarn.
In all fairness to my sister, she did tell her to quit throwing her balloon at her three times.
She's only 2 and she's turning into a little crafter already. Tries to run fabric through the sewing machine (with no needle and no foot pedal, thankfully). |
Cute pics, Kilala. <3
I don't blame her, lol. And that sounds adorable! Cheeks (the one in the hat) tries to use my crochet hooks and knitting needles. He'll hold the hook in one hand and wiggle it around while holding yarn in the other. <3
Thanks Angel. :) |
Hey - teaching them now will last a lifetime. Mom taught me young and I'm still at it.
I need to learn how to cast on if I am going to knit stuff. I have only done a little bit of knitting.
I want to learn to cast for resin. I heard it's an expensive hobby.
I think making porcelain dolls would be fun, but also rather expensive.
Hey Angel here's a knitting cast on tutorial. It's not the way I learned, but it seems really easy. *nod* Also, in regards to porcelain dolls: My grandmother and her mom made them. The hardest ones to do (from what my grandmother said) were the black ones. You have to paint the hands and limbs along with the other details, and once they're put in the kiln, they had a tendency to not hold the paint and had to be painted multiple times. She made the cutest little baby though. She named it Tipee. I wish I had a picture of her.

*adds to the thread sticker collection*
Ooooh! Stickers! What kind of stickers? Are they the shiny Prism stickers?? O.o (Sorry, I'm a bit hyper atm... >.>)
I love all kinds of stickers. I have some extra Val day ones with little foxes and hearts on them.
D'awwwwww. Most of the stickers I've had have been the Prism stickers. I think Lisa Frank's were some of my favorites. I used to love the rainbow Tiger.
I still have some Lisa Frank stickers! Came across them when I was going through an old stationary box. I still like to collect stickers, though I'm no longer inclined to stick *all* of them into an album and use the doubles to embellish letters and such.
I used to collect charms. I had a notebook/trapperkeeper type thing full of them. My great granny got it for me at a thrift store, and I found lots of them at yardsales. I think a friends older sister gave me some of hers. I had around 100 of them...
This is a general idea of what I'm talking about. I never wore them, like this person was talking about, but I used them with my dolls. My favorite was a lucky cat with a gold bell around its neck. |
Kilala - omg! I used to have so many of those!
Also - I still have Lisa Frank stickers. They sell them at various places. :) |
The last stickers I bought were a booklet of Spiderman ones for my son's stocking this past Christmas, lol. Although, I was going through some boxes in our basement and came across some Prism Lisa Frank Unicorn stickers that I had from back in the last 90's early 2000's. They're still sticky! XD
I'd have to say my favorite charms were the little animals. |
I still have a lot of stickers from when I was in high School, too. ^.^ Yay!
They have some great Charms at Disney - a little more shiny - but fantastic.
*yay*! Sticker people... I thought I was the only one! |
*pats* It takes all types to make the world go 'round. *nod* You just so happen to have more like you than you thought. <3
I think I was too old to hit the charm craze, though. I don't think I ended up with any of them.
I was either eight or nine when I was collecting and that was in the '97/'98 time frame. I think I got my first charms when I was seven though... so that would be '96.
I was out of grad school then, and had finally found a job.
I was more likely to buy a fantasy novel then a charm clip I had no place to clip it to. XD |
I clip stuff to my backpack!
So do I Faux, and it's usually keychains... >.>'
I'm a keychain hoarder... -_-' The newest additions to my collection are 3 Full Metal Alchemist ones. <3 Love Mustang and Ed. *fangirl squee face* |
I've only seen a couple episodes of that.
It's pretty good. If you have netflix, you should check it out!
Oh?! I didn't realize it was on Netflix. People have been telling me to watch Attack on Titan - I still need to do that. *oi*
My hubby's watching it. I'm not really following it, but that's because I've been crocheting a lot the last few days.
Oh! Are you getting closer to finishing the baby bumper?
She's getting to where she's trying to pull up, so it's going to be a blanket instead. >w< I've got 2 rows stitched together, and I'm in the process of sewing in the tails that I should have sewn in before I stitched the squares together in the first place. It's making for REALLY tedious work.
So I have been working a bit on it, but for the most part I've been doing various other things. I made a pair of wrist warmers for my 14 year old sister-in-law, that awesome blue hat (I'm really really proud of that, in case you couldn't tell, lol), and I'm making another flower teether. This one has a turqua center with grape fizz petals. I'll post pics when I'm done with it. :) Oh, and I've been making a prayer square for one of my friends. When done it's supposed to be about 7 inches square and it has 3 crosses on it. It looks really nifty, but the pattern's giving me problems. It's really simple, but because of how it's spaced on the page, it's hard to keep track of. I've restarted it four or five times... -_-' |
