LOL I was that way from around May-July. XD
Finally got back into the swing of things around mid August. |
So are we getting closer to having that event? C:
|
Sorry for not catching the question sooner. We are, actually! There's still some work to do for everything all around, but I have high hopes we'll meet our projected deadline.
|
Woohoo! Thanks for the update!
|
So uh.. Guys... It's the middle of October and we still haven't seen the Monthlies yet.. Any word on this?
|
Illusion, they had a pixelist leave, Twiggy is in classes & Fen works a 50+ hour week. They are trying there best to get the items out but if it ends up as 1 month with out monthlies i think we can all agree life gets in the way some times and that this isn't a normal thing.
|
It's probably going to end up being a normal thing if Fen doesn't either come back or give the site to someone else. She seems to log in like once a month. I know Galla is working really hard but the site won't be able to be fixed without a dedicated leader.
I know that the staff here are passionate about the site, but that doesn't mean anything if nothing is produced. It's been a couple of months since I last brought up these issues and it's only gotten worse. I don't know if there is any coming back from this long of a delay. |
I agree with Taiki and Illusion on this.
I can understand real life must come first, after all education is important and so is working to pay the bills, however, it gives off bad vibes that the owner of the site who is meant to cherish it like her own child is only turning up once or twice a month to check on it. Yes, it does show she has faith in her staff, again however, I agree with Taiki on this it's excuse after excuse. Passion of hired staff can only get a site so far if there is little no guidance from the owner. I appreciate that Galla and the others are working so very hard to keep the place running as smoothly as possible, but there may be no way to save this ship, it's now sinking quicker than the titanic in my honest opinion. There has been no story line event in close to a year, the rigs where meant to be out three days ago and it's over half way into October with no DI's. I do agree with you on some things Tiva that life does get in the way and it should come first but where it may not seem like a big deal where in fact to a site this small it is. Trisphee is a business, the donation items and rigs are their merchandise, without new items on sale there is no real need to buy runes, without people buying runes the site is one step closer to closing, and as bad as that may sound it's the truth. No new items, less donations, site has to close because it doesn't have the funds to remain open. It's what's happened to quite a few sites one of the most known being Crysandrea. This is my opinion and view on the situation and is not meant to upset anyone or start a fight. |
I've been lurking around for months now, hoping that this site gets back up. Here is my opinion.
Sure, this site was founded to create a community and to tell a story. But as these things go: it is a business. If you have nothing to "sell", people won't stay around. Delays will drive people away and there will be no income. While money is the core of any successful business, I am also referring to income of people and time spent by the consumers. If no people are around to keep the other people around to chat and hang out, then more people will slowly fall off in search of what they want to spend their time on. Like myself. You just can't hang around and have a conversation with yourself on a site like this. |
^^^
Your right. We're currently working on this, like right now working on this. We will be posting something up in a day or so. Just so everyone knows what's what. Taiki, You brought this up a month or so ago and we listened. But there isn't alot we can do since we don't own the site nor the paypal that is attacted to it. |
I understand that, which is why I didn't bring up Fen's absence last time. I'm not blaming the staff that are currently here for the site's downfall and neither should Fen. This site is her responsibility and she needs to get back here and fix it and not expect the rest of the staff who have no actual control over it to fix it for her or needs to let someone else take control.
Like Kaguya said, "Passion of hired staff can only get a site so far if there is little no guidance from the owner." I came back, tried to do my part and create conversation and make some threads active. Though I look forward to your update Nexess and hope that things start changing for the better. |
It is overly difficult to do anything with the site when we need a go ahead from the owner. And it's really nice of you guys to actually notice we really are trying as staff to keep it going. Hopefully we'll be able to see changes for the better soon.
And the conversation and activity has been a help, it keeps us going to know people do want to be here and want the site to keep going. |
I don't doubt that the staff is trying very hard to get things going again. I don't doubt that Fen is trying as well. I appreciate the work that has been done and is wanted to be done.
Just in the interim the site slowly dies each day that people lose interest in the stagnation. It is a sad fact. I hope that people will come back when/if the site returns to its former glory. |
I always gave ideas how to spark interest into the community alone; to lead people's curiosity on for days with hints and questions, to make rare and valuable limited trophy like item that is given to whomever was able to get the most new user refers in a month, to have small events with little NPC interaction just to make people coming to the forums asking what's happening, to limit how many characters you introduce in a event so you don't have to make new NPC items every event and have less writing to do, and to get rid of Seasonals if they take so much time out of your way and focus solely on monthlies, yearlies, and events.
Just some old suggestions that I gave out over the course of time, and I still like all of them and wish they were implemented in someway. And here's a new one, keep on working your tails off guys without Fen! This site can be successful with you guys alone! |
I really hope that Trisphee doesn't die. I just finally got back to being able to get back on again...
|
My hopes for this site are: whenever at event gets going, send out a newsletter to emails that the accounts are connected to (didn't we have to put in an email? If we didn't, this won't help) informing them of it lol
|
some people dont like that since it is a form of spam
|
but it is a good way to get old memebers back. i still get the ones form gaia and soemtimes im like " Oh wow they updated big time since last tiem i checked" mind you the last time i actuly fallowed gaias was when i got a news leter mentionning taht teh plot got updated
so maby we could do that also hi. im alive. |
I wouldn't use a news letter until you guys start making updates, but a newsletter is a great idea as long as you do it once, and not 50 billion times were it would be considered spam.
|
I like newsletters/updates via e-mail, especially when I forgot what the website was. Besides, most places who have that has the option to opt out the newsletter so you won't get it.
|
Wow Illusion. I understand things have been slow, but as of late you have been really negative about the site.I am sorry things do not meet your expectations even when they are released it seems.
I thought you had aspired to be a pixelist, in case you haven't noticed our lack of artist is one of the problems. I am sure if you have been practicing and can pixel we would welcome the addition, especially given the crunch, fen and a lot of the other artist are under with work and school. |
Star Seeker still wants to be a pixelist, but hasn't gotten around to getting a portfolio together... I hope she's eventually able to, because everyone knows how much pixelists are always needed on here...
|
Awe man I love your little sis <3
xD we could also always always use ultima sexy pencils <3 <3 -makes swoony noises- |
O\\\o Use them for what?
|
bby, you don't wanna know XD
|
... Well XD my honest intent was for peeking. I swear.
|
One; Checking on that newsletter thing, Coda should get back to me soon about it.
Two; Illu, you do indeed give suggestions but alot of them aren't actually feasible for us for the most part hun. Three; I love you all o3o EDIT; Coda says yes, we do have a mass mailing code set up. |
I haven't pixeled anything in a really long time, but if you guys need a little bit of help on artistic side of things I'm willing to work for Runes?
Even if it's just making the previews for the DI/Shop item announcements that something. |
Well, I didn't mean like a weekly newsletter.
I meant like Roliana did. A lot of people left while they were down, so like a month later, they sent out ONE newsletter to let everyone know they were back and the changes....I was just thinking when an event was starting, send one out to get the website active again...for the ones who might come back due to an event. |
I hate to butt in something I know only partial of what's going on.
._. As for Illusion being a negative nancy, I don't really blame him/her for it. They make an excellent point here and I apologize if it hurts anyones feelings. Now going to say this without directing it at ANYONE, just my observations from various comments/posts, etc from around the forums that I've noticed this past year. But sites such as this are a Business. I know, for I have a beginner one myself. And late donation items will cause people to start being overly excited about ok, when is it coming? Today!? Awe... Maybe tomorrow. But eventually half-way through, they start to lose hope and eventually stop trying to get on the site. I know this as well because I've done it myself. There is a site (it will remain nameless) who has been months late on their donation items and I've completely stopped even glancing about there. Not saying that you guys would do that, I mean, this is the first time (since I've been around) that you guys have been -this- late with the donation items. I'm not mad, but I also don't frequent these forums as much as a lot of the other members do and I understand their frustrations with it. I don't think just because you have some or a lot of negative members, that it should be pointed out. I'm sorry, but I always think staff should be above that. Instead of pointing the members flaws out, just apologize and say you're hard at work with it. But I also know that there's been some harsher negative nancies out there which I've never approved of and it's hard not to be offended by. Then again, that's just me. This is you guys' baby and you do what you gotta do! I'm just throwing in my opinions. ^-^; As for the members, I can't say too much about the staff, I don't really know them very much, but the website that I used to frequent, the owner pretty much given up it seemed (yes, the site is pretty much dead now) and I really hope this place doesn't do that, but this is one month (unless I'm mistaken?). Even if there were other months, they were probably months ago, right? It happens. Life gets in the way, business or not, family is more important than us. They will get around to it eventually. Hell, GaiaOnline has been late quite a few times in their past. Don't think that I'm sure they don't welcome positive or negative feedback, me personally welcomes any and all on mine, but that's just me. I'm not sure how Trisphee is run, so you may have to judge how they feel about it and try to compromise. If it requires an "Ok" by Fen, then perhaps she needs to hire an assistant (or use one she already has) to authorize approvals. If not, if more of this starts to happen, I'm sorry but Illusion is correct, this place will shoot down faster downhill than a monkey in a barrel. You guys just be patient, though, okay? Running a site like this does take time and effort. And just because they got busy with IRL issues doesn't mean that they do or don't care about this website. They have to judge their time well as well. For all we know, she probably got too busy with family and work and forgot that she did or didn't give the okay to proceed. It happens! I do know that these pixelists are very hard workers and they do take pride in their work. From my judgement, it would appear a few of them do get offended, but it's hard not to after reading some of the comments by some of the members. I know a lot of people judge the way I type and talk as being offensive, and I have to remember to either smile or put smilies in my speech or text. (I actually got into trouble at school a lot because they thought I was being rude when I wasn't. >.> ) Anyhoo... Just try to remember how your text is worded, okay? I do admit, some of you guys have been saying some harsh stuff at or to some of the staff members (over the course of my year on and off here, that is). There's a way to describe your feelings about the items without attacking one or any of the staff members. I'm a pixelist myself and pixeling takes a LOT of work. So unless you've pixeled or attempted to pixel yourselves, you will never understand the amount of work goes into it. My pixeling job takes a lot more out of me than my regular anime-style art work. And once our pixel is FINALLY completed, you don't know the excitement we feel once it's finished. How proud we are of ourselves. The goosebumps we have to want to show off our wonderful work. Then once it has been released, and the harsh comments afterwards make the artist feel so much sadness that not everyone liked it. Instead of stating you don't like the artist, try to say something along the lines of "The pixel-work was done amazing! However, the style of the art itself is not to my liking/taste." You've complimented the work of the pixelist to let them feel that they're work is loved, but you've also mentioned how you don't like it as a personal taste for yourself without being offensive or attacking the artist. That being said, hope everyone's Halloween is the most gruesome ever! Give a hollar out to Batty (I hear this is her favorite time of year AS IS MINE!!! *SQUEALS*) |
Yokuutsu - Exactly what we were planning, a monthly or weekly newsletter would just get annoying.
Obsidian - @___@ That was alot of reading but worth it. Thanks for your feedback on the whole shazaam that is currently Trisphee. I'd make a more lengthy post but most of what you said is statements and doesn't seem to need anything further added. |
HAY SIDI. -Batty sense started tingling-
I have to personally apologize for not being around more often. I feel like such an ass, at this point. I do come and lurk... but its taking me a hella long time to pull myself out of this depressive hole I've dug myself into. As for the site, I know I don't have a lot of say at the moment, but, I'll do as much as I can to help bring it back to its former glory. Everyone that has my number can contact me at anytime. |
@Nexess
Welcome! And thank you. That's probably the longest post I've ever done in all my years of avatar-sites (outside of shop setups), but I felt that it probably needed to be said! Quote:
Especially this site, to be honest. You guys' pixeling is just so amazing, I look forward for your Halloween donation items. Throwing my two cents, but I'm hoping for black, purple and orange items! >.> Batty! Make it happen. XP |
-Reads Obbies comment-
YES! I'M A NEGATIVE NANCY! Now I'm socially inclined to buy a purse and get away from any judgement that follows! |
Quote:
Nothing wrong with it. ^-^ Does Trisphee sell purses? That'll be kinda cool to have an avatar with a grumpy face, a white haired top-bun and an old purse with a title "Negative Nancy". I'll be honest here... I'm a huge negative nancy with GaiaOnline. >.> But I swear they do the stupidest things ever. There would be more people against what they want to do (they'll ask US whether we want it or not) but it's like they don't really care if we don't want it because they'll do it anyway. So it's like, why ask us if we want it if you're going to do it anyway? Edit.1 Also, if you want to meet an -annoying- negative nick, meet my ex-husband. He shoots EVERYTHING down and it's so annoying trying to deal with him. |
Obsidian, I have never been a pixilist nor have I ever tried but during the Japan relief when I was staff, I sat and watched as Kami was pixiling some of the bakeneko and I could see just how much effort that pixiling does take and do appreciate the hard work and effort that takes to make them, because of this I can understand that pixilists are proud of themselves when they finish and to hear people pulling down all that effort and hard work it is hurtful and many bare it with a smile but inside they are devastated wondering where they went wrong.
I will admit I have become a negative nancy when it comes to trisphee, but this is because I go back and remember how the site was back in 2010. To see the site in tatters like this hurts terribly not only as a user but as someone that helped shape it in a small way. I do hope Trisphee does die and can return back to how it once was because it was full of life and was a true joy to log on and be here. I will admit even though for the most part I do not like some of the staff (I will never name names so don't bother asking), I admire them for trying so hard, taking on the comments wither they be good or bad, constructive or just people trolling. |
While some of us might get a bit sensitive (ahemSUZE), so long as there is that base level of respect, it's usually easy enough for us to look past some poor wording.
And, of course, most everyone listens to user opinions (except staff that don't matter, like that Ashy thing, ew), and we do try our best to make what can happen happen. Things are bad - have been bad - but so long as y'all are willing to work with us, we won't be giving up on y'all or on the site. Galla shoots negativity in the face! ... With love! Or some other sappy crap, idfk. |
Quote:
Alas for me, and alas for the world! ...but not really :X |
Now bask in Gall's Sountherness everyone.
Illu - :I You find the purse and I will buy it for you hun. Kag - Honestly alot of the time you just point out stuff people don't want to say, which I'm ok with, it needs to be said either way if it's to be any help for the future. :I I do thank you for not naming names, it's alright to dislike people but naming them is so not cools, glad you know that. -Shoves Suze back in his cave of depressingly long words- |
Quote:
So Trisphee, I'm the biggest asshole of all! :D My butt has so much storage and I can just fit everything up there! Why do I need a purse again...? (Wait..? Do we even have a purse item on Trisphee...? I totally want to wear a purse now. xD) |
