owo hello there mizzy, don't think I've posted in here yet so I thought I'd give it a quick stop by.
|
Hi Waffles, Sorry I missed you!
I hope that everyone is enjoying the event~ |
*nuzzles Mizzy* every one is events are fun!
|
There could be pictures if you wanted them, Tiva. :P We are still sort of in the process of unpacking though, so it's a bit messy. For now, all I have is this picture of my board game collection, which will be living on the coffee table until we get an actual shelf. I'd never really had them all in one place before, so I was surprised to find out I had quite this many. xD
Beer and board games are a couple of my favorite pastimes, haha. I feel I was pretty fortunate to happen upon a few other people who share my hobbies. On the other hand, I go to an engineering college, so... :P Thanks, Alpha! Ahh being poor sucks... >< At the moment, I feel like I have a decent amount of money, but really, all of it and more belongs to the government, and when I graduate in December, they're going to start asking for it back. x_x So I need to either start watching my spending or find a job, quick. |
Gaius I love your boardgames o.o
I want the ones I don't already have lol Would you like to play games with us in Snakes and Lattes? We're having so much fun over there. Tiva, I'm glad! |
I see Munchkin!
And yeah Gauis lots of people are in that boat. The boyfriend just finished his exit counciling and is freaking out. 35 grand in debt and no job.... i would be too because the flat rate for that is 300 a month. So find a job to support yourself plus make 300 extra a month to pay your bills. At least you have 6 months to start repaying the debt... but still it is scary |
I wish you luck on finding a job Gaius!
Sorry I know I read all your post but I didn't comment *feels bad* I space sometimes... I see a couple AWESOME games. And a couple I've never heard of! O: |
I should learn how to play Catan sometime.
|
Espy your avi is awe inspiring and terrifying at the same time... i keep thinking Sleepy Hollow .
|
Oh, uh, thanks. I was actually...kind of going for a deer-skull-helmeted druid, buuuuut.
|
Sweetie have you seen the show?
|
I, uh, don't do TV much.
|
Look it up, films in my state. The boyfriend works on set some.
|
Maybe. I just usually would rather be doing things other than watching shows. (As in, I don't do most of what tumblr is into.)
|
Don't have to watch it... just the big evil in the show.

The...Headless Horseman...?
|
No no no.... they went far creepier.... *points up*
|
Not entirely sure if I want to scroll up, considering I need to sleep.
|
..... Up to you I sleep just fine with it.
|
Miz, which ones do you have, or which have you played? o3o
And thanks for the invitation! I'd actually been hoping to play, but I never know when people are on. I guess you guys are mostly night owls, haha! Or you're in a different time zone... I'm on EST so it's 3 in the morning for me. :P Espy, you should! It's quite a popular game so it shouldn't be too challenging to find a copy. Oddly enough, I actually don't have the game myself. The Catan box in my photo is just an empty expansion box that somehow ended up in my possession. xD It's just such a popular game that I've always been able to find a friend to borrow it from, and thus never needed to own it myself. It's a decent game though, and a good introduction to board gaming. :) Ugh, that's awful, Tiva. x_x I hope that my degree turns out to not be totally useless, although I'm also pretty uncertain of what I want to do with it. But as long as I can mostly support myself and don't have to move back in with my parents after college, I won't complain too much. And heh, yep! One of my friends got me that game. I sort of wish I had more sets, but I also don't really want to buy them myself just because I only occasionally play it. :P |
Where are you on the east Coast Gauis? *blinks* and holy shit it is 330
|
Night owls. I know Tiva, Obbie and I are in EST as well.
(can't remember everyone else) I recently dropped ALOT of money on boardgames... so maybe when I'm reorganizing this weekend I'll take a couple pictures so I can show you o-o; I have Takenoko BUT haven't played it yet because I opened the box and didn't have the deck of cards. I still have to email them... damn. OR maybe I'll make a list of all the games... tomorrow I don't think my brain can handle it right now x-x Where abouts do you live, if you don't mind my askin'? |
I'm not really on the east coast at all; I live in Michigan. I'm pretty much in the westernmost part of my time zone.
Haha awesome! I recently bought tickets for GenCon for myself and my partner, so I've spent a lot as well. I am hoping I will have enough to buy a few games while I'm there. I was looking through the list of games that are being released at the convention, and I'm already so excited. Oh wow, that's pretty weird... But I'm sure if you contact the publisher, they will send you the missing components. I am pretty fond of Takenoko. It's a lot more light-hearted than a lot of the other games I play, but that's definitely a good thing. I've gotten a lot of use out of it because it's so approachable for new gamers. And it's pretty darn cute. |
@Tiva: I thought that Sleepy Hollow was shot in Portland? Also XD explains why my dad thought the mountains looked familiar.
|
Nope Sleepy Hollow (with Tom Mison) is shot in Wilmington NC, and a few other towns around it. Along with Under the Dome, and the now cancelled show Revolution. Charlotte is also a satellite location for the set of SH.

Nah, i live a bit away from it, thankfully. The boyfriend is in film, and hence me knowing way too much film junk.
|
Ah, that sounds very cool! What kind of work does he do?
I feel like it might be fun to live in a town that's used as a set for a movie or a show, but it probably would get old after a short while. xD |
It does.... Add in the fact that it is a tourist town and it makes it worse. Parents got stuck in a restaurant because they were filming Iron Man 3 and needed the street cleared.
|
Oh gosh... sounds like a mess. o_o I have lived my entire life in tiny rural areas so I cannot begin to imagine a situation like this.
|
Glade your ok and weclome back

owo Sorry for missing you Mizzy.
|
Wow, that is a nice list, Miz! Several of those game I have never heard of and will need to look up. Especially given that many of the others I have heard of and already wanted to try - specifically Letters from Whitechapel, Rampage, and Shadows over Camelot. o3o I'm also curious about Level Seven. I was browsing around at the local game shop and it was one of the few games they have that I'd never heard of. The description on it intrigued me, but I still need to watch a review and find out if I want it...
I also own Fiasco and Pandemic, but they were not pictured because Fiasco is still in my box of books and my partner currently has my copy of Pandemic. Both are great games though! From your list, I have enjoyed playing Dominion (used to own expansions Intrigue and Prosperity but I game them to a friend as a birthday present), Catan, Ticket to Ride, Red Dragon Inn, Infiltration (which was really cool and I'm seriously considering buying it; it's also set in the same universe as Netrunner which is another game my partner and I own), King of Tokyo, Smallworld, and Once Upon a Time (also a really cool game I will probably buy). So I take it you also watch the youtube show Tabletop? Otherwise you just coincidentally own a lot of games that they've played on the show. xD |
We haven't played them all yet. But most of the ones we have we have loved.
Shadows over Camelot is SO much fun. The whole boardgame buying came from a night of watching Wil Wheaton's TableTop Game Show on Youtube. (Some of the games we don't have yet because we can't BUY them right now. out of print or whatever) And from there we got games that one of the people at the local store loved to play. o-o We've been looking at buying Netrunner. And we have only played infiltration once. We need to play it again to really get a feel for it. Level 7 Obbie picked up because the guy at our game store sold him on it. It's really interesting. You play trough different stages. It tells you how to set them up. How many guards, and aliens can spawn during that game round. It will tell you what 'rooms' to hold out and start with. You're trying to from point A to point B. Sometimes you need to complete over tasks before you can leave that "level". We've only played a couple of the different levels, cause we end up starting over with new people which isn't bad. ^^ I've had Fiasco a while, but we haven't played it yet. Maybe next time. Waffles; Sorry I keep missing you too! Hope you are doing well |
I think the next game we are gonna learn out of the bunch is either white chapel or the game of thrones card game o.o;
Still so many we have to play Also; I forgot a couple of games. Apples to Apples Killer Bunny SPANC Order of the Stick Godstorm Risk ...probably forgetting some others x.x; |
