ok... a less fluffy spitz xD and one that's sable...
chinook new hampshire state dog |
...I was going to ask if it was another of those special American breeds that I've never heard of.
Except for the Chesapeake Bay. That one I do know! Non-American guess is maybe a Hokkaido? |

I'll add your point, and put up a new picture in a moment. XD |
Rocking it mdom
*had to go look that up* I work for a vet's office and boarding kennel I have never heard of that dog. Probably cause it looks like a shepherd mix…
I have a breed book from Europe and I go leafing through the thing and wonder what the heck things are part of the time.
Doesn't help that my most active "dog study" was in elementary school and half of those breeds either don't exist anymore, exist in more forms, or carry more politically correct names. Took me a bit to learn that not only is the "Mexican Hairless" properly called the Xoloitzcuintli, but that it comes in different sizes. I find it interesting when I see new "designer dogs" come out that are really recreations of old ideas. Take the "Pugalier." It's a small English spaniel bred with a pug. In other words, it's a newer version of the English Toy Spaniel. Somewhere a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breeder is very angry about this development, as the Cavalier breed used in the mix was devoted to removing the pug influence from the breed after there were no traditional English style toy spaniels left. (The history of the English Toy Spaniel and the King Charles Spaniel is something of a semantic mess. Fun!) |
So we have 2 at the vet that regularly come in.. I call them the X Dogs. Which their owner finds hilarious.
Heh. The short term is usually "Sholo" or that's what I use. "Sholo-it-squeently" (or something like that) gets a little awkward.
Pharaoh Hound? Is it a Pharaoh hound?
(totally is not stalking the thread) |
Greyhound?
The point should go to QMC who said it was a spitz xD I just went through the wiki list, ehehe
I think, looking at those legs, maybe an Italian Greyhound. They're a bit more delicate than the true Greyhound.
Nope, nope, and nope.
Basenji?
Uhm... Afghan Hound
Thems are some sticky legs.
Pointer perhaps? |
I'm going to guess Azawakh as I stumbled upon it and obscure-ish things seem to be a thing.
It apparently has a lot of other names. |
Pretty sure it's some type of sighthound, but other than that...
Whippet? |
/looks at sighthound list
oh boy, another long one... chippiparai |
Just for shits here⦠Bassett Hound?
No, Tiva - I'm 97.5% certain we're looking for a cat breed...
Not a fish?
But we already had fish. That grey fur pic, remember?
Whoa, wait... what if it's not even an animal? Looking at it for the third time it seems suspiciously familiar to the turtleneck sweater my mom put up for her yard sale last month. Ari, we figured you out! |
Legs! I can finally tell a body part! Is that...a baby cow xD?

Thought I guessed whippet already but that was a previous pic. I love sighthounds but they are not exactly the sort of dogs for my lifestyle. I am much more suited to a lap and foot sitter. |

Leopard Gecko?
that is totally a dog...
I am suspicious...
It's a tiny dalmatian ear that is very close and very wet. |
florida reef gecko
Bumpy!
...Pufferfish? |
It looks like a snek
I'm going to guess Chinese Crested.
Leopard Gecko
Leopard Snecko-mation?
Is it some sort of snook? Thats how my oldest pronounced snake for the longest time when she was very little.

Uh, not to be a spoilsport here, but shouldn't it go to Isis in that case? *points to last page*

Isis had it first, yeah.
Scales are not my thing. My sister needs to be here for that. ;) |
