I forgot about this thread, and the event at large, really. So busy! I was at the art store to price out some canvases and get a tub of gesso to play with. Never used it before. I've decided to try and see if I can sell some paintings at local markets to try and get some cash since jobs aren't working out well. I'm still working out a pricing scheme.

What subjects do you paint? I love buying local art of, like, animals and stuff at local fairs.

I hate modern art :p-cool: It's one of the things that kills going to museums for me.

You'd probably loke most of the exhibits at the museum I work at. Sometimes we get kind of extreme stuff, but mostly it's pretty basic landscapes and stuff. But even the really out there stuff isn't really that extremely wird stuff. Except for one exhibit that I didn't care for much.

I have it sketched but coloring it was making me go cross eyed so i'll finish it today xD

Love the art as always and the items! Stupid life.. I have none of them lol

Well, I guess right now you'd call it artistic smears. I just sort of much colour and texture onto a canvas with my hands, and stop when it looks good. Or at least, that's my new thing. I went to an art night that did a landscape so I might practice with that a bit but I think what I do now is more towards abstract or impressionistic, if I were to label it. I do more detail work with watercolour, things like flowers or stylized landscapes or patterns.

I've got a stock of bulk canvas that I've hear are pretty good, and I'm going to paint a variety and see what gets attention next summer. I hear acrylic paint should cure for a bit so I'm going to start building a stock this winter.

I have some old paintings on Deviant Art but nothing of my newer stuff is online. I'm working out how to price right now. Materials I think should be easy enough but labour is more difficult. One 12x12 canvas can take me an hour to several or even days depending on how happy I am with what comes out. Also, I wouldn't call myself professional quality, and my paints are on the cheaper end.
