Angel Spirit Girl 04-12-2011 10:27 PM

Socks are just meant to go in mated pairs -- like certain birds. XD

femme gauche 04-12-2011 10:31 PM

Yeah, I don't plan on making a mate for that one, since it was sort of a "test run", plus I want to do the two-at-a-time method, like I am doing for a pair of fingerless gloves. It is a bit fussy, but it kills Second Sock Syndrome.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-12-2011 10:39 PM

Oh no!! The poor mateless dear! v.v

At least it shall not happen to any of his brethren.

femme gauche 04-12-2011 10:44 PM

Yes he is doing all right though, he'll have some knitted toys to keep him company he doesn't like socks anyway... *shifty*

haha Yes although I don't know how many I will be making XD. Well, I would need sock weight yarn... I don't have enough of that to make a pair.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-14-2011 07:26 PM

Oh dear! You need to get more yarn before you make more socks then. ^.^

femme gauche 04-16-2011 12:06 AM

Yeah, but I already have plenty of non-sock yarn that needs to be used up so my goal is to use that u p before I buy more XD. I mean, i've already bought more sicne I've said that, but.. not much.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-18-2011 05:08 PM

What are you planning to make with it?

A scarf? An afghan? a shawl?

femme gauche 04-18-2011 09:16 PM

No idea, that's the trouble. I don't have enough to make much interesting, I already have too many half-assed scarves and whatnot anyway xD.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-19-2011 10:44 PM

Maybe a hairband.

My Mom knitted me one or two of those to wear outside in the winter to cover my ears when I was in school.

femme gauche 04-19-2011 10:55 PM

Nah, I've got hats and I don't have much hair to hold xD.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-19-2011 10:59 PM

What about gloves? Too much like socks?

I've seen little knitted finger puppets. XD

femme gauche 04-19-2011 11:01 PM

I've seen those as well XD.

Gloves are actually quite different from socks, more complicated but they don't have heel shaping to deal with XD. I have not made any complete gloves although I almost finished a "finger-only" glove for my sister. I dind't finish because it was too small, and I kind of got discouraged xP.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-21-2011 06:29 PM

I guess the finger parts would be hard to knit.

I just didn't know what might take less yarn than a sock.

Maybe a bookmark.

femme gauche 04-21-2011 06:33 PM

Individually the fingers are fine, depending on how you knit them they can be like little tiny hats with long tubes attached or just tubes that are joined at the end, but the most difficult part is probably the separation of the hand into fingers (or the joining of the fingers to the hand, depending on which way you started). They'd probably take less yarn than a pair of socks, but I don't really need gloves atm. I guess xP.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-21-2011 07:09 PM

Oh! Mittens would be easier than gloves.

But I guess you don't need them either.

femme gauche 04-21-2011 10:08 PM

Yeah not really XD. Right now, most of the things that I would be knitting to wear, probably would nto be wearable at the moment XD.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-22-2011 10:18 PM

That happens in summer. You might try a light spring vest, though.

femme gauche 04-22-2011 10:20 PM

Yeah but most of the yarn I have is acrylic and somewhat heavy I guess xP.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-22-2011 10:46 PM

I guess that does limit things considerably.

femme gauche 04-22-2011 10:46 PM

Yes exactly xD.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2011 02:44 PM

Mini shawl style collar?

femme gauche 04-29-2011 03:18 PM

Sure, that could work lol. I dunno I ' ll figure something out XD.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2011 04:03 PM

Let me know what you come up with. <3

femme gauche 04-29-2011 04:10 PM

I will do that XD.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2011 04:13 PM

Pictures, too! ^.~

femme gauche 04-29-2011 04:15 PM

Ooh, now I am all excited for something that i don't even nkow when it is going to happen XD.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2011 04:42 PM

LOLs! XD And - if I get around to making them - I will have to show you artist trading cards by me that I mentioned wanting to make on solia.

femme gauche 04-29-2011 04:43 PM

Yay! Haha. I think I ought to try making some of those XD.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2011 05:18 PM

The only problem is that I spend so much time on-line keeping up with avatar sites. XD I need to make that art for someone on gaia. But first I need to get aurum here, and finish getting items for the Solia and Ruffles Easter events, too. Then I will have time for crafts.

I want to start a garden this year as well.

femme gauche 04-29-2011 06:09 PM

lmao yeah I am the same unfortunately.

That would be nice x3.

Echo-chan713 04-29-2011 06:13 PM

I don't like anything covering my hands the only closest thing I can wear on my hands are those fingerless gloves (like the fitness ones)

femme gauche 04-29-2011 06:19 PM

Yes I like making fingerless gloves, they are fun.

Your avatar looks like a video game character; I like it :).

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2011 07:01 PM

I want to grow some foods for eatables. ^.^

Hello, Echo. You look like Laura Croft.

femme gauche 04-29-2011 08:34 PM

Yes I was thinking of that but I do not know the game that well so I couldn't say that for sure xD.

And awesome! I was hoping that was the plan, it's nice to grow food <3.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2011 08:37 PM

Yup. Laura Croft from Tomb Raider. Not that I know a lot about games.

I figured growing veggies would help with food costs.

I do like flowers, though. I have some that I will keep in the garden.

femme gauche 04-29-2011 08:45 PM

Aw that is cool then :). Good with food costs and energy and pesticide consumption/spread as well.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2011 08:49 PM

That is what I was thinking. If I could just get organized enough to do it.

femme gauche 04-29-2011 09:12 PM

Aw, haha. My dad has a veggie garden, he does'nt spend tons of time with it ,but it does produce tomatoes and peppers pretty well when he tries.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2011 09:23 PM

We have deer and rabbits - not to mention other critters - that run though our yard. So, I would have to weed, water, fertilize, and guard those plants a good deal. The results will be tasty, though.

femme gauche 04-29-2011 09:29 PM

We do not have deer, in all these fenced in yards XD but we do have rabbits and the garden has to be protected from those, but for the most part it does fine.
