"No, you were fine. It's just something we'll have to work at. Maybe next time it would be better if the lights were on, so you can see me." She with a small smile, though it was a little sad. If her acting like a girl had made him act this nervous, what would knowing she was a girl do to him?

Pushing those thoughts from her mind she squeezed Saya's shoulder and said, "Well, stranger things have happened." She laughed. Stranger things had happened. Like this entire situation for example.

Juneberry 03-15-2011 05:16 PM

((That last statement made me giggle))

"I guess so...Like my mom trying to plant tomatoes in winter..." He grumbled when he remembered it, as it had only happened that last year. "To be honest, I'm still worried about leaving mom on her own. I really meant it when I said I'm part vampire. That's what most people in the village say," Sayaku laughed nervously. "Our dad is a major night owl. He sleeps all day and wakes up at night. He has perfect night vision too. That and when he gets cut, he just sucks his own blood to replenish the lost. He fits the description..." He laughed a bit more. "Is it possible that I am part vampire? I do love rain more than the sun. But wait...Vampires are supposed to be strong and good with girls.."

Honor 03-15-2011 11:00 PM

She grinned, then took Saya's arm and slowly pulled him back to his bed so they could sit down. "They are," She agreed. "Does that mean this is all an act? That in reality you could sweep a girl off her feet in a second, you just don't want to reveal your deep dark secret?" She asked with a laugh, imagining Saya in a cape and pale make-up.

((Sorry I didn't really let Saya react to being pulled, I didn't want it to be like one line.))

Juneberry 03-16-2011 09:22 PM

((S'okay. Since he knows it's his friend now, he won't react as quickly anyway xD))

"You know I could've walked myself... Though it's likely safer working together when it's this dark," He chuckled, adding, "And no, it's not an act. I really can't handle girls that well. Well, besides my sister and my mother. Mostly my mom." He laughed nervously. "The thing that makes me like a vampire is that I love it when it's not as hot out 'cause I get hot easily and my sleep habits. But really, otherwise I'd think I'm pretty normal... Well, more normal then my sister anyway."

Honor 03-16-2011 09:31 PM

Sitting on Saya's bed Olivia dropped his hand. Being around him seemed natural and she was starting to not think about what she was doing when it was just them. It was a good thing that he didn't seem to find anything she did strange. She smiled a small amused smile when as he talked. Vampires might be an interesting thing to paint. Even more interesting would be painting Saya as a vampire.

"Personally," She began then laughed, "I think being normal is only for those without imagination, and you, my friend, have plenty of imagination. Besides, it's much more fun to be weird." She laughed a little again. "Hmmm, as for the temperature thing, I prefer being warm. Bring on the fuzzy blankets. Always."

In this moment Olivia was glad for the darkness. Without Saya having to look at her she felt she could truly be herself. Right now she was a girl. It didn't matter if Saya was aware or not, but it made her happy.

Juneberry 03-16-2011 09:38 PM

"You're like my sister in that way. Well, to some extent. She loves warmth, but I have a feeling she's more extremist about it then you. I mean... She can wear a winter coat in summer and seemingly still be cold..." He laughed nervously. "She's far from a vampire considering that and her ailment being that she makes too much blood for her body to handle. I think she'd be better off being vampire food..." he thought about it. Hadn't he actually told his sister that part once?

"True, normal is for the lack-of-imagination to some extent. But I mean, my sister has no imagination. It's all logic based. But...She isn't normal. At all." He laughed more. "I think normal, in the end though, all depends on our own idea of it. I mean...This school is far from normal to me just because it's so big. After all, to me normal is a small community that's like a big family since it's how I grew up, you know? Others think where I live is weird. So...It's all perspective."

Honor 03-16-2011 09:47 PM

Olivia smiled. "You're sister sounds like such an entertaining person. I really hope I get to meet her." She also hoped his sister wouldn't be nervous around her like Saya had said she was around guys. Perhaps she would be able to somehow sense her femininity unlike her brother.

"True, just like this place is strange for me because I've never been around so many guys at one time in my life." She would get used to it thought. Well, she hoped she would.

"I hope I didn't freak you out too much when I was pretending I was a girl. Perhaps I should take it down a notch next time." She said apologetically. She really didn't want him to ever feel uncomfortable around her, especially when she acted like a girl.

Juneberry 03-16-2011 09:52 PM

"It was mostly 'cause while I thought you were a girl you touched me. Girl plus touch in my case is especially scary... Since that's what caused the fear in the first place." Sayaku laughed nervously. How pathetic was he to have to admit such a peculiar thing? That situation couldn't be normal...But to him it was life.

"She can be I guess. Though it depends on what you find entertaining. I'm hoping the people I've met here won't scare her as much. She's actually pretty calm if I'm there, strangely enough. I think it's because after last time, she expects me to protect her if something happens. Though I would likely do that anyway. But I don't think that problem should come up too easily. I'd like to think I have good judgement of character."

Honor 03-16-2011 10:00 PM

Olivia nodded. "Sorry about that then. I'll tone that down." She said that, but what she wanted was to reach out and take his hand then. To tell him he had nothing to be nervous about with her, and that she wasn't like those other girls. She wanted to comfort him but denied the impulse.

However that train of though made her curious about something else, something that was definitely not her business. She knew that the girls that had given him his fear had to have been violent, but she wondered if he had ever enjoyed being with them. Had their hands on his cheek felt nice? She bit her lip, and started to ask, "Saya, have you e- ah, never mind." Her face turned a bright scarlet.

Juneberry 03-16-2011 10:33 PM

"Don't start asking a question and then changing your mind. It makes people worry." Sayaku was fairly blunt as he noted the statement, leaning back again so that his head had hit the back wall, though he apparently didn't notice. He stared upward at what seemed like nothing, though he was trying to see if he could remember where the boards of the upper bed were. "If you have a question, you shouldn't fear asking. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it's worse if you don't get the satisfaction of an answer to bring you back from that death. That's what I was always told..."

Honor 03-16-2011 10:41 PM

Olivia laughed. "It's not that I'm afraid to ask exactly, it's just that it's, um... a very personal question, and probably not appropriate... at all. It will probably make you feel uncomfortable." Her faced burned as she spoke. Why had she even thought of that question? It was still in her mind and of course she still wanted to know.
((short post is short ^^; ))

Juneberry 03-16-2011 10:43 PM

"Why? Does it have to do with my sister's health? Nah that wouldn't be considered personal for me. Um..." He tried to think of what the question would be, but now he was flustered by the very thought. "I can't even make a guess. Dang.... Now you have me curious!"

((s'okay. my post is short too <3))

Honor 03-16-2011 10:49 PM

Olivia swallowed loudly, nervous. "I-It um... w-well it's..." She wanted to smack herself in the forehead for stuttering so much. She felt as if her face would burn off, but she knew she had to ask it, if only to satisfy Sayaku's curiosity. She took a deep breath. "I-I was wondering if you h-had... ah... done the... er... um." She took another deep breath an blurted it out. "Sex. What I mean is have you...?" Yes, her face was most definitely going to burn off.

Juneberry 03-16-2011 11:39 PM

"My virginity is still in tact, thanks." He laughed a bit. The way the other boy had asked was quite intriguing. "You're a unique one with that subject. A majority of guys I know get excited and just talk about it like it's nothing. Glad to meet someone who actually talks about it as if it has meaning. It's sorta annoys me the way most guys treat it." He chuckled still.

"I never had an interest in someone enough to think about it really. It's just not me y'know? I think that's something that'll just happen when time decides it's, well, time. But I'm not really worried about whether or not I do it in the end or not. There are more important things then something like that."

Honor 03-17-2011 12:00 PM

Olivia let out a breathy laugh, relieved. The heat started to slowly to leave her face, though much of it remained. "Do they?" She said curious. Then she remebered that she was also a guy. "I, um, wha I mean is most of my friends are girls so I've never really talked about it with other guys. It means a lot to the girls that I know so I've always seen it as very important." She leaned back on the bed, feeling the softness beneath her. It was strange to talk about this with someone who wasn't one of her sisters or female friend from home.

Juneberry 03-17-2011 01:48 PM

"That's true. I guess the way we think about things is also affected by our environment. Well, to some extent." He smiled a bit, noticing the way his words seemed slightly cautious. "Are you alright? You're speaking a little off..."

Honor 03-17-2011 03:23 PM

"Oh, I'm fine. Just a little...flustered, I guess. I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm not really good at talking with other guys, not that you've seen me talk to anyone but guys so you would have no way to compare. It's not like your problem with girls, I'm just not good at it," She told him. It was true, and then it was not. Talking to guys was much easier for her when she was her real gender.

It seemed to her that since Saya had admitted the status of his virginity that she should also, it felt almost rude not too, but she was not sure how to go about telling him. She supposed just blurting it out would work. "Oh, and, uh, since I asked you about... that it seems only fair that, um, I should tell you too. I'm the same. That is I haven't..." She sighed. Would she ever be able to talk like a sensible person about this?

Juneberry 03-17-2011 04:03 PM

"I don't really care about your sex life, to be honest..." Sayaku mumbled. "That sort of thing is someone's private business, ain't it? It shouldn't be something you feel obligated to tell someone or talk about. That's my opinion, anyway. While it's not something to be embarrassed about, it's not something you should push yourself to talk about since it's a very sensitive matter."

"Well, since you've been trying so hard to help me with my girl problem, I'll do my best to help you with your trouble talking to guys. You'll get better with practice after all, right? Growing up in a house full of girls is bound to make it a little hard, I'd imagine. So don't worry to much... Just be yourself. I know I won't judge you, and so far I can say a number of other guys won't either. Well, besides Joey judging you as feminine, but you get the point. Being yourself is the best way to be if you wanna make friends y'know."

Honor 03-17-2011 04:58 PM

Olivia smiled. It was strange being close to someone like this. She had only lived with her family, people she had known since birth. It was strange have to become friends with the one living with her but she was enjoying it. He was knew to her and she found it fascinating to find things out about him.

"Thanks Saya," She said, meaning for more than simply wanting to help her become better at talking to guys. It was for all his kindness, his acceptance of her, and for his trust. "With each other's help maybe one day we'll become social masters." She laughed.

Juneberry 03-17-2011 05:10 PM

"I wouldn't jump that far ahead yet, buddy. Besides, there's no such thing as perfect. You can never perfect an art... And they say socialization is an art all its own." Grinning, he yawned a bit. "I'm tired... If it's alright with you, I think I'll hit the sack for now. Let's bug Joey tomorrow about that festival thing though. Sound good? Maybe we can help or somethin'."

Honor 03-17-2011 05:16 PM

Olivia nodded, yawning in reaction to Saya'a yawn. "Sure thing." She sat up, stretching a little and pulled herself up onto her bed. She dug under the blankets snuggling into their warmth and let out a contented sigh. "Good night Saya," She said with another yawn. Had she been this sleepy moments ago? Her eyes felt heavy and she let them fall closed. The night seemed to wrap around her.

Juneberry 03-18-2011 03:24 PM

"Night, Olive." Sayaku replied. He fell onto his bed without paying heed to the covers, head falling straight onto the pillow with his legs stretched out, arms on his chest out of habit. As his eyes closed and the darkness of the evening swallowed him into slumber, He didn't move a muscle until the sun came up.

((Yay! Time to time skip?))

Honor 03-18-2011 03:46 PM

((Indeed! :D ))

Light from the window made strange patterns on Olivia's skin, engulfing her relaxed face in a mix of extreme contrasts. Her eyelids fluttered for a moment then squeezed shut before finaly opening to meet the knew day. She yawned and rubbed her face before sleepily getting from bed, retrieving her clothes and making her way too the bathroom.

She stared at her reflection in the mirror for a long moment before finally picking up a brush and combing her hair. She touched the tips of her hair with a slight sadness. She missed it's length more than she had anticipated. To banish the sadness she flung water on her face and then scrubbed it hard, washing away any bit of dirt that might have come to settle there during the night. Following this she brushed her teeth and changed her clothes."Rise'n'shine!" She called as she exited the bathroom, not knowing whether he was already awake or still asleep.

Juneberry 03-18-2011 04:18 PM

The sound of a voice caused Sayaku more turmoil waking up then the filtered sunlight. A grumble escaped him- he was exhausted. Reluctantly pushing a blanket or something that seemed like one off of his face, which he'd pulled up to blind himself from the light, he groaned. "Can't morning come later?" This was the first time he could remember hating a morning so quickly.

Getting out of bed, he revealed a naked torso, his shorts hugging onto his stomach slightly to show he was bloated, likely from eating too many greens. "I feel off today...Huh..." Shaking it off, he took his clothes for the day and headed to the bathroom before turning over to look at his friend. "Mornin', Olive." He then entered the bathroom to get ready for the day.

Honor 03-18-2011 04:32 PM

Olivia said nothing as she watched Saya make his way to the bathroom. Her face was growing more red by the second and after her heart had done a funny little flip it started to work in overtime. It was all she could do to keep her expression neutral at the sight of Sayaku's body. When the door to the bathroom closed she rushed to Saya's bed and sat down, sure her legs couldn't hold her up much longer. Her eyes had done more roaming than she had wanted them to and it was impossible to get the image of his tanned and muscled torso from her head.

She closed her eyes, which were wide and wild looking, and tried to settle her rapid heartbeat. She laid back taking deep breaths and contemplating the feeling that had ran through her body. Though what she felt most strongly was embarrassment there had been another, more carnal feeling. She knew what it was. She was no stranger to lust, but she also knew that she should not have that feeling towards her roommate. It was bad. It was wrong. She needed to stop thinking about it. So she sat up and started to put on her shoes.

((Oh! wow I meant to write this when I first posted this, but I somehow forgot. Sorry about assuming he was tanned and muscled, I think you'd said it before and it made sense with his farm background, but sorry in case I'm wrong))

Juneberry 03-18-2011 07:58 PM

((Nope, you're right. He is somewhat tan, and he has a slightly muscular build from all the farm work in the past. Though he isn't overly so, it does get noticeable if his torso is exposed.))

The water against his skin was refreshing as his back felt dry and bitter. He took a bit of the shampoo bottle he only vaguely recognized, feeling that the coconut-scent would be much more relaxing compared to his usual herb-filled stuff. Stretching, he finished his shower swiftly before changing in the room, letting a sigh of relief escape him. His black shirt contrasted well with his skin and blue eyes, which seemed more noticeable compared to his brown hair than normal.

Exiting the bathroom, he continued to dry his hair with a towel while walking. "Sorry, but I borrowed some of your shampoo. I really can't handle the stench of mine today." He laughed nervously before shaking his head a bit like a dog to finish the drying process, putting his hair towel down on his pillow as a way to let it air dry- though, he knew later he'd have to dry the pillow too.

Finishing getting his sneakers on, he looked over at his roommate. "Shall we get going then? Don't wanna be late for breakfast."

Honor 03-18-2011 08:37 PM

When Saya came out Olivia had turned to look at the other wall like it was very interesting, but her resolve not to look at him did not last long and she found herself staring over as he shook his hair like a dog. She watched the few remaining buds of water fall away, or at least tried to. Her eyes kept falling on the skin of his neck, following it until it disappeared under his shirt.

Then suddenly she felt jealous. Was he no attracted to her this way. Did the hormones that effect every teenager not tell his body she was female even while his mind was oblivious? She relied suddenly that she wanted him to be attracted to her. She should not want that.

"It's fine. You can use it whenever you want." She said in a surprisingly nonchalant voice. She walked over to him, trying to to look at him to much while trying not to look away to much either. She could smell the shampoo mixing with his own sent, and she liked it. She liked it a lot. "Yeah, let's go."

Juneberry 03-18-2011 08:46 PM

"You seem a little off today," Sayaku noted simply. While he didn't notice the other boy's interest in him, nor any specific femininity that would make him stand out, he did notice the way the boy seemed to be struggling to either look or not look at him. "You may have pushed too hard yesterday, 'cause you seem to be a little scattered. Try not to push too hard so you won't catch a cold. Unless you think you're a dummy..." He trailed off. "I don't believe it, but my sister says she once heard dummies don't catch colds."

Honor 03-18-2011 08:52 PM

Olivia blinked and looked up at Saya in surprise. So he had noticed her strange behavior. She looked into his blue eyes for a moment and felt the bit's of jealously she had been feeling fade away. So what if he wasn't attracted to her? At least he had been paying attention. She smiled warmly at as the walked. "Oh, I'm fine, just bit.... scattered this morning is all, thank though." She said, then laughed. "Well, it looked like I won't be getting any colds then." She said with a grin.

Juneberry 03-18-2011 11:19 PM

"If you believe in that sort of thing," Sayaku replied. "Personally, I don't think you're a dummy. In reality I don't think anyone's a dummy... The only dumb thing is thinking you are." He laughed a bit, adding, "Though that one goat that kept hitting me even when I wasn't trying to bug it made me wonder..."

Honor 03-19-2011 10:50 AM

Laughing, she said,"I'm pretty sure that goat must have had a grudge on you or something. Did you ever insult it's honor?" A grin wormed it's way onto her lips and she felt that everything was returning to normal, as if this morning hadn't happened. It had of course, and she made a mental note not to let her mind stray today.

Suddenly a large hand was on her left shoulder and she was pulled to her right, bumping into Saya, who she saw had also been pulled toward her. She looked behind her to see Joey grinning down at them. "Olly! Saya! Fancy meeting you two here," He said as if the meeting had been by chance and he wasn't already aware that they traveled this way to breakfast. "Hey Joey." Olivia said with a smile.

Juneberry 03-19-2011 04:23 PM

"Good to see you too, Joey," Sayaku responded with a slight laugh. In his mind, he debated about how well Joey could be mistaken as a regular person from his village, considering he was similar to one of his old friends. However, the thought never reached his lips as he turned to look at his upperclassman. "It is fancy, ain't it? After all, we're going to have a good breakfast again today." He chuckled.

"Oh, Joey, do you know anything about some sort of play festival sorta thing going on soon? My sister heard about it and wants to come, but I didn't even know a thing about it. Anything I can help with?"

Honor 03-19-2011 05:24 PM

The moment Saya mentioned the festival Joey's eyes lit up like Christmas lights. His smile grew wider, something Olivia didn't think was possible, and he took on the expression of a little boy when he found out he was going to get exactly what he wanted. "Funny you should mention that Saya. I actually wanted to talk to you two about it. You see, I'm directing the play and I happen to be short two characters. They're small parts, they don't even have more than two lines each. One is a servant boy and the other is... a maid." His eyes swerved over to Olivia when he said 'maid.'

Olivia stared back at him, knowing full well she should not dress up like a girl. It wouldn't help the male persona she was constructing at all. "I get the feeling you want me to play the girl, don't you?" She said, her voice sounding sort of tired. She knew she should not say yes, but she also knew that she already would.

"You're the only guy I know that could pull it off." Joey said in a sugar sweet voice. Then his face changed to resemble a very sad puppy. "Pretty please, Olly." He said, staring at her with big eyes.

With a sigh she gave in. "Yeah, okay." These words were followed by a big hug from Joey. He crushed her to him, bouncing around like a child. When he finally let go, Olivia had to catch her breath. "And I assume you'll be willing to play the servant boy?" He said, turning to look at Saya with a similar puppy-dog expression.

Juneberry 03-19-2011 07:35 PM

"Sure, why not? Maybe it'll keep Sis's interest more." Sayaku laughed. "Besides, I come from a farming village. I've met a lot of servant boys back then so I know a lot about them. It might help me put up a front for it." He grinned. "You'll have to tell me where we're performing in advance though. My sister needs details that I can tell her sooner rather than later, so she can have someone write it down and remind her."

Honor 03-19-2011 11:47 PM

Joey clapped his hands together and let out an exclamation of joy. "I knew I could count on you two! You guys just give off a very reliable vibe. They play is here on campus. In about a month," He told them with another grin. He patted both of their heads and moved to walk in front of them, looking back to be sure they were following.

Olivia laughed and shook her head. "What am I getting myself into?" She with a smile to no one in particular. Joey turned and with a flourish of his head said, "Stardom, my dear boy. You'll be famous."

"Sure. For playing a girl." She said, laughing a little harder. Joey shrugged. "Fame is fame. You take what you can get."

Juneberry 03-19-2011 11:55 PM

"How does playing a part in a school play make someone famous, anyway?" Sayaku asked with a blank look on his face. "Seriously, this may be an arts-amplified school but it doesn't mean we get famous just for saying a line in a play. That's not logical even to me." The boy laughed, however. "Still, it'll be fun. As long as the people enjoy it, y'know?"

"Don't worry too much about him, he's just overreacting to things." Peter noted, walking up from behind. "Oh and be careful with him around your sister. Knowing our luck he'll scare her away."

"Eh, she'll admire and envy his energy is my guess." Sayaku replied, chuckling. "I don't think even Flute could find this guy scary. And she's scared of guys in general, so that's saying somethin'. Olive too, probably won't be a problem."

Honor 03-20-2011 12:06 AM

Joey gave Saya a sideways glance and a small devious looking smile. "You should have more imagination. The possibilities are endless. Never doubt. Always imagine," He said, which was a motto he pretty much lived by.

Olivia laughed as Joey spun to face Peter with a fake pained expression. "I'm hurt Peter! You should have more confidence in me!" He laughed and then swooshed his hand through Peter's hair and then dodged away from him in case he were to strike back. He seemed to be especially hyper this morning. He turned and looked at Saya. "I will be an angel in front of your sister." He promised solemnly. Olivia found that hard to believe.

Juneberry 03-20-2011 12:28 AM

"I'm with Olive," Sayaku noted, reading the other boy's expression. "I'll believe it when I see it. Just be careful. Sis has a weak body 'cause of poor health and she's naturally slow. So don't make her run anywhere... If you do, she'll collapse and I'm not letting you off easy." Sayaku's grin showed he was being partially playful as he watched Peter flick his friend's shoulder.

"Don't be a baby. You should be able to handle criticism."

Honor 03-20-2011 12:37 AM

"I won't, I won't! I swear I can be good when I try!" Joey said.

Olivia smiled warmly at the group as they interacted with each other. 'Boys' She thought with a good natured roll of her eyes. Suddenly Joey had pulled her to him and had his arm around her shoulder, at least sort of, it was difficult to manage with their height differences. "Lil' Olly here is my only true friend it seems." He said sound forlorned. "You don't really think I'm that bad, do you?"

Olivia shook her head with a smile. "Well... there's hope for you...maybe." Joey stuck out his tongue at her, but didn't release her from his hold while they walked. Olivia was getting the picture that he was a touchy sort of person, which was not a bad thing, but she wasn't all that thrilled to be this close to a male after what had happened with Saya that morning.

Juneberry 03-20-2011 12:41 AM

Sayaku grumbled to himself. "I thought I was your friend too," He pouted, laughing a bit soon after as he felt a pat on the back from Peter.

"Don't take it to heart. He knows we're just teasing him. Mostly."

"I guessed so." Sayaku grinned before keeping his pace up to match that of his friends. "Oh, Joey. What exactly is the play about? It'd be easier to play the part if I know the story."
