Artemis was thoroughly surprised as William kissed her again. She was planning on doing the exact same thing in a few moments, unable to handle the teasing. She was pretty thankful that William did it first, to tell the truth. She always found those things awkward. Even though she knew this couldn't continue this way; they couldn't get..involved, but she also knew she couldn't allow this to not happen. In the few brief seconds she mulled all this over, she finally had to cooperate with his kiss, unable to deny herself any longer.
She was forced to break away after a few more seconds, mainly from the fact she simply couldn't believe it. She stared at him, slightly wide-eyed. She opened her mouth to speak, but found that she had no words. |
William pulled away reluctantly as Artemis broke the kiss. He desperately want to continue, but he he knew better. He gazed at her for a long moment, not sure of what to say. It was then he remembered their little charade and decided to use it to his advantage. "Generous enough?" He said, slowly managing to smile at her. "I'd hate to think you still felt jilted." He laughed slightly.

Artemis was slightly disheartened as he tried to brush it off, yet she kept her sly smile, "Oh, I think it was enough" She winked, laughing slightly. It was a tad bit forced, but what else could she do? She wouldn't want to force William to react other than what he thought was necessary.

William smiled, though he felt a bit sad. Would it be so much to ask for another kiss? He closed his eyes and leaned back against the couch. He nodded. "That's good. Seeing as you're the last person I'd want to disappoint." He paused, and the allowed himself the freedom to say, "Just let me know if you ever find it to difficult to resist again," and instantly regretted it. He knew she would think he was teasing, but it was still a bit to blunt.

Artemis forced herself to lean back, away from him, against the arm of the couch, "I think I'm set for awhile now." Though, for how long that would be, she knew would only be a few moments of time. She let her head fall to the arm of the couch as she closed her eyes, not from exhaustion, but from lack of anything else to do. "You should rest, I'm sure you're tired William." Mood killer much? She had no choice though.

William chuckled. "I am and I offer you the bed again if you're tired, though I doubt it since I assume you don't sleep much." He opened his eyes a crack and then grinned seeing her eyes were also closed. Quickly as he could he moved so he was laying back, his head on her lap. "This couch is comfy, especially this pillow." He laughed again.

Artemis shook her head,"I do not", her pale 'blonde' hair falling from her face, changing color as it did so. She had no reason to keep wasting power as Will knew who she was. Her hair was really a very pale grey-blue color and her eyes were really more of a red than brown, but seeing as they were currently close, he wouldn't be able to tell right now.
She cracked open an eye as he made his pillow comment, looking down at him, "This is why I had wanted the couch. I love couches~" She laughed a bit, patting the back o the couch, "But you just wouldn't let me. How heartless~" |
Will grinned at her, his nose sort of wrinkling in the process. He noticed her hair color change but made no comment. "I know. I'm a cruel person. I wanted to horde the couch for myself." He told her with a laugh.

"I'll just have to horde you both then," she commented slyly, bringing her arms around him with a slight squeeze, "Just to let you know, I get very possessive about the things I horde." She chuckled, ruffling his hair, like she had wanted to so many times before, "Now, you should sleep. I promise to be a good pillow and not move."

William had to admit that he very much liked the idea of falling asleep with Artemis as a pillow, but he hesitated. "That's tempting, but won't you get a little bored just watching me sleep?" He asked with a smile.

"Not at all." She lifted her head to look down at him, "Besides, someone has to make sure you get a full 8 hours of sleep. I'll be damned if I let you get sleep deprivation; unless I'm at fault, of course," she winked, letting her head fall back to the arm of the couch, "I might even take a little nap myself.." She kind of wished he wasn't laying on her like this..she would have to feed very shortly, else she might risk getting herself and Will, seriously injured in her weakened state. Hard to believe it's been 2 years since my last..meal She shrugged slightly, not really noticing she did the action.

He closed his eyes, listening to the soft sounds around him. How had he never noticed she had no heartbeat? William was absolutely positive that he would happily miss sleep if she were the cause of it, but decided not to say so. "Oh, don't tempt me Artemis, it's been a while." It had been a while since he had last been... intimate with someone. In the beginning he had been just as unscrupulous as most slayers, but as of late he hadn't really wanted to. Not to say he didn't have the desire, just that it wasn't directed at any of the random people he met.

"Well, since you asked so nicely, I wont. I'll behave~" She smiled, shifting a bit to make herself a tad bit more comfortable, and closed her eyes. She wasn't necessarily sleeping, and she knew William was aware of that, but it helped her to relax.

William smiled, his eyes still closed. 'Even when you behave you still tempt me.' He thought to himself. "I appreciate it." He said softly, feeling the tiredness he had been denying take hold of him. His body relaxed, comforted by the presence of his friend despite her vampiric nature. His breathing grew heavy, more regulated over time and he felt himself drifting off.

A small grin came upon her face as he fell asleep, Good boy. She remained completely still the entire night, not daring to move to disturb him. She kept her mind occupied most of the night by constantly scanning the city with her mind, keeping track of the vampires and of the slayers she knew about from personal encounters. For the most part, the vampires remained at a distance, sensing she would not tolerate their presence. It was moments like this she was a bit relieved to be as old as she was...the other vampires would listen to her and know better than to make her angry.
*** Artemis opened her eyes feeling the sun peer through the windows. She never expected to actually fall asleep; lightly yes, but not like she had. She looked down to see William still asleep and smiled slightly. She would let him wake up on his own accord. |
William woke with the sun and carefully assessed his surrounding before moving as he did every morning. He was pleased to find Artemis still there. He turned himself so he was face down, crossing his arms under his chin and peered up at Artemis with half-lidded eyes. "Good pillow." He said with a small smile.

Artemis smiled, sitting up and looked down to him, "Morning~ Sleep well?" She brought her knees up to rest her chin on them while she used her arms to hold them up. "I'm surprised you didn't wake up at all. You appeared to be out the entire night. It was restful I hope?"

"It was restful." He smiled. "I'm surprised you didn't leave during the night. Did you fall asleep? Or where you just too entranced by my gorgeous face to move?" He asked her with a sly grin. Slowly, he sat up, stretching his arms over his head and leaning back slightly.

"I simply couldn't keep my eyes off you." She winked, "You hungry? I may not need to eat, but I do make killer waffles." She chuckled slightly, "Of which I might need to steal a few. Or perhaps something else? I've got hundreds of recipes stored up in my head."

William laughed. "I don't think you'd find anything in my kitchen to make a decent meal. All I have is left overs that have probably gone bad, and a few soldier supplements supplied by the slayer council." He rubbed his hands on his face and stopped suddenly, feeling the long dried blood fall of the now closed wound. He didn't heal extremely fast, but he did heal mush fast than normal humans. He stood then. "I should go take a shower, the place is yours to do with as you wish while I do so." He said then peeled his shirt off and threw it in the laundry basket in the hallway. The walked over into the bathroom.

She frowned, "Definitely need a better lifestyle. You can't just not have my waffles." She laughed a bit, peering over as she heard him remove his shirt. She managed to catch a glimpse of him as he headed into the bathroom. She found herself staring at the door for awhile after he had shut up, biting her lip. He definitely looked good without his shirt.
She peered around the apartment, unsure of what to do while he was in the shower. She could go grab a quick meal. She nodded and stood, searching for a pen and paper. She wrote him a quick note stating she'd be right back, and she promised she wouldn't kill or hurt anyone. After all, drinking blood wasn't all about maiming the victim. After she placed the note in a spot she thought he'd see it, she hurried out, double checking she still had her knife, just in case. She quickly rounded the corner, eying out potential..meals. She felt a tad awkward doing this, and the that Will knew what she was out doing, but it had to be done. He had to eat food, she had to drink blood. It was life. Finally, she found someone that smelled rather delicious. She smiled slightly approaching the teenage boy, "Um, excuse me," she said as she pushed up her glasses as he looked at her. "I was wondering if you could help me find this one place?" As the boy faced her, her eyes turned blue as she entered his mind telepathically, gaining a bit of control over him. She glanced around at the others walking by, they had no clue, which was exactly what she wanted. She led the boy off to the side and behind the corner of a building and down the ally. She held one arm around his waist to support his weight, while her other one moved his head so she would have access to his neck. She bit her lip a bit, feeling really odd right now. She quickly dispelled the feeling and bit down. |
William showered quickly. He exited the shower and placed a towel around his waist. He gazed at his face in the mirror, examining were the cut had been. It was just a pink line on his face now. He pulled on a pair of dark jeans, dried his hair with a towel, and exited the bathroom.
As he stepped out into his apartment and felt strangely alone. Had she left? He looked around spotting her note and picked it up, reading it. He felt a chill go through him. She had to feed, of course she did, he knew that but it still felt wrong. He sighed, and put the note down. There was nothing he could do about it now. He turned and begun to rummage with through his cupboards before finding a single blackberry pop-tart. "Perfect." He said, and placed the morsel in his mouth. |
Artemis pulled her mouth away from his neck after a few moments, making sure he still had plenty to able to get to where he was going without much trouble. He would feel a bit tired and weakened, but nothing severe. She held her fingers over the wound, accelerating his body's healing system until the wound was gone. After she double checked to make sure would be okay, she stood, hesitating to head back to Will's.
After a brief moment she sighed, teleporting herself to William's apartment, appearing sitting on the couch. She watched him silently for a moment before speaking quietly, "I'm sorry." |
William turned at the sound of Artemis's voice. He had been staring off into space, having already finished his pop-tart. He gazed at her for a swift moment, trying to see a difference in her. After a moment, he shrugged. "You have to do what you have to do." He said, walking over so he stood behind her and the couch.
He wanted to ask her about who she had feed from. Had they been young or old? Male or female? He felt a twinge of jealously at the thought of her lips on the neck of another man. He shouldn't. He knew that they hadn't been there in a romantic way, but still the jealousy was there. |
She shrugged, "That's how I look at it I guess..How was your..pop-tart?" She couldn't help but chuckle slightly. Pop-tarts..stupid things.

William smiled and jumped over the couch so he was sitting beside her. "It was delicious. It was also the last thing in my cupboard. I'll have to go shopping soon." He made a face. He didn't like shopping. It felt like a far to mundane task. He looked away and then back at her, unsure if his next question would be considered rude or not. "And you? Did you enjoy your meal?" He asked politely, after all she had asked about his pop-tart.

She shrugged, "It was alright..I guess..." She would've much preferred to taste William's blood, after all, it had smelled simply intoxicating, but she would never tell him that. He was still nervous about the fact she as a vampire. "At least, even when I was masquerading as a human, I still didn't have to buy food...with you being the only person I really ever spend time with, it was easy enough to keep you away form my house. You know?"

"True, I don't believe I've ever really been to your house. You've been to mine plenty of times though. I'm surprised you were never suspicious about my lack of food. Or do all normal human guys just barely get by on take-out?" He chuckled and flicked a strand of her hair toward her.

Artemis tilted her head a bit as he flicked her hair, "From what I've seen, it's not uncommon, I guess. Especially for college goers." She shrugged a bit, "I still don't understand how you just live off take-out and pop-tarts. Those things are nasty...pop-tarts that is."

William laughed and shrugged. "Pop-tarts aren't so bad. You know, if you toast them and ave a glass of milk they're pretty good. Not that I ever have milk to eat them with." He took the same strand of her hair he had flicked and twirled it around his finger. "You're hair is always so soft." He noted.

She smiled slightly, "Why thank you, I try to take good care of it." Her face became mildly disturbed as he mentioned milk, "That stuff is gross...I don't care what anyone says, I'm not drinking something that came from something so dirty as a cow."

William laugh hard. She wouldn't drink milk, yet she had no problem drinking blood. He found that hilarious. He had always thought vampire's viewed humans as cattle. Perhaps he had been wrong if she had such an aversion to drinking milk. "You don't like milk?" He asked, trying not to laugh again.

She cringed, looking away, "God, no. It's sooo nasty. I mean, it stinks, it gets lumpy, and for christ sake it comes from a cows freaking utter! Do you have any idea what that thing gets into? Do you William?" She narrowed her eyes a bit as he laughed at her, "Hey, back when I had to drink milk, we didn't have all the nice luxuries you do. It was from the cow, to a container, to your stomach. It was so god awfully nasty."

Her reaction just made him laugh even more. When he finally gained control of himself he looked at her as if her were a puppy who had just chewed up her favorite shoe. "Alright, I get it. You had bad experiences with milk." He chuckled again. "And no, I don't know where a cows utters have been and I don't want to."

She poked him hard on the chest, "Damn right you don't want to know. I didn't want to know, but I know, and I'm telling you, you don't want to know." She laughed a bit, rolling her eyes slightly.

William took her hand, the one that had poked him in the chest. "Did you just poke me?" he asked with playful outrage. He pulled her hand slightly closer to him and leaned in. "I cannot believe you did that. I am offended. Apologize." He demanded with a grin.

Artemis grinned slyly, "I will do no such thing; you'll have to make me~" She took her other hand, poking him in the chest again.
|
William grabbed her other hand and leaned in farther. He was now practically hovering over her and... shirtless. Living alone for so long hadn't really made him overly conscious about putting a shirt on after he showered. "Oh, I think I could make you, but I dislike resorting to force with a lady."

Artemis tried to keep her eyes drifted down at his shirtless body, but found it nearly impossible; especially after touching him. "Aw, there's nothing wrong with a little roughness."She winked breaking her left hand out of his grip and poking his chest again, tempted to drag her finger gently down, but resisted the urge, leaving her finger smack dab in the middle of his sternum.

William laughed and raised his eyebrows. "So you enjoy playing rough, do you?" He said as he took his own left hand and slid it over hers where it touched his chest. He wasn't restraining her in anyway, he just wanted to have his hand on hers. "Tell me, how do you plan on making this offense up to me?"
