The events of the night replayed themselves over again in Jasmine's mind as she walked to her car. Carefully, she placed her instruments inside and then got into the driver's seat. She sat there for a moment, lost in thought. What had become of the other vampire? She doubted this would be the last she saw of him, and that thought made her shiver. She didn't exactly feel like dying. In fact, she rather enjoyed living.
With a sigh, she turned the car on and pulled out. She needed to get home and sleep on this. Hopefully it would all make sense in the morning. |
Kali jumped, "Get out of my head! I feel all violated and such." She shuddered, hurrying down the stairs, past the painting and to her car. She really like it, true, but she still felt odd accepting it. She started her car and threw it in reverse, swiftly moving out of the driveway and to the road. She went into first gear and started off back to her house. Her mother was going to kill her.

Zac opened his eyes and sat up it was five a.m. He walked down the stairs, "So that really did happen." He said with a sigh. He pulled out his phone and called the contractors. He hung up and put the phone in his pocket, "Well I need to get more blood." He said as he passed the study. "I had a feeling she would forget it." He said with a sigh. He grabbed a piece of paper and started writing a note: Dear Kail, I am sorry for what happened last night. I hope you do good on your test, and good luck in your future. ~Z He put the letter in an envelope and gently taped it to the painting. Zac disappeared, appearing in Kali's apartment. He set it gently against her bedroom door. He quietly sighed and teleported to the butcher shop to get some pig's blood. |
Jasmine rolled over and groaned as an irritating and screechy sound came from her alarm clock. She pulled a pillow over her head and around her ears, willing the sound to be gone. It did not however, much to her dismay, become silent. So, with another groan she moved a hand out from under the blankets and slammed the snooze button.
After a moment of contemplating how sad it was to leave the warmth of her bed, Jasmine sat up and went to her bathroom to shower and get ready for the day. Once clean, she pulled on a pair of light colored blue jeans and white tank-top with a red flower that was losing it's petals. It reminded her, oddly enough, of blood. Thinking of blood she remembered the past night. Looking around her bedroom she spotted the new violin. So it hadn't been a dream. |
Kali had been so rudely awoken by her alarm clock at 6:45am sharp. She groaned, having gotten little sleep. Her night was riddled with various dreams and nightmares. She sighed as she hauled herself out of bed and into the shower. 18 minutes later, she was getting dressed. Shortly after that, time for food. She sighed, thankful that she wasn't to see her mother until about 6pm that night, due to her mother's very strange work schedule. With a yawn, she headed out of her room and to the tiny kitchen.
She paused, however, halfway through her door. "Wait.." With a yawn, she stepped back, tilting her head as she saw the painting, "I..don't remember..grabbing.." Suddenly she screamed for a short few seconds as she realized how it got there, "That is so fucking creepy! Gah!" She grabbed the painting and with a huff, she very carefully hid it away in her closet with a shudder. "Oh my god." She hurried to the kitchen grabbing a banana and scarfing it down as she went out the door. Of course, she didn't have a car of her own, as her Loft landlord only allowed one car per tenant. She would have to run as fast as she could to the college campus, even if it was only 3 blocks away. *** Kali sighed deeply as she left the testing room. She ran her hands through her red-blonde hair with a groan, I think I'll take a nap..I have off the entire day..thank god. She took her time walking home, placing her iPod headphones in her ears and playing some TVXQ and various other Korean Pop songs on her walk home. |
"Ah that's right I need to pick up Barnaby from the vet." He said as he was putting the blood away in his mini fridge. He teleported to his garage and opened up the door. "It has been to long love." He said as he got into his Audi R8. He backed out of the garage and headed off to the vet.
|
Jasmine pulled her hair up into a ponytail and exited her apartment, walking into the parking lot. She quickly got into her car and drove to work.
(excuse the lame post) |
Zac arrived at the vet and went in.
"Ah Mr. Holden Barnaby is right over here. I do have to say you have interesting tastes in animals." The man said grabbing a cage and putting it on the counter. "Thanks, Barnaby has been with me for a few years and he is the best pet ever.""Only because he is the only animal that hasn't hated me." He said with a smile. He placed the money on the counter, and opened the cage. "Let's go Barnaby." He said waving. Barnaby screeched and flew over and landed on Zac's head. "Good boy I need to give you some fruit when we get home." He said as he went to his car. Barnaby screeched when Zac mentioned fruit. Zac laughed. |
Kali entered her complex using the code to open the outside door, and her key to get into her loft. She sighed, flopping down on the couch. She laid her head back on the pillow, putting her arm over her eyes to block out the light, "That was a waste of my time..." She sighed again, starting to go into a light sleep.
"Oopmh!" She bolted upright, throwing her arm down as she looked at the sudden source of weight on her chest. She couldn't move far, as the furry face of her cat, Solomon, was only inches from her. "Solo..really? I'm tired." He meowed, kneading her shirt with his paws, "Coommee oonnn, must you get everything full of hair?" She shoved him off, laying back down, grunting again as he came back up with his 25 pounds of awesomeness. "Just..leave me alone." She shut her eyes, going back to sleep as he laid down on her. |
Jasmine came home with a smile. She always felt good after teaching the children. Though often they enjoyed trying to put gum or other objects onto their instruments. She liked children, but perhaps she would try and teach a slightly older group when she had the chance. She glanced around her apartment, feeling oddly alone. 'Perhaps I should get a pet or something.' She thought as she sat on her couch and turned on the television.
|
Zac pulled up to Kali's apartment complex, "Should I go talk to her Barnaby? I just wanna apologize." He said looking at Barnaby in the mirror because he was still on his head. Barnaby screeched. "So you think I should?" He asked moving his hand to the door handle. Barnaby screeched again and hit Zac's head with his claw. "Ow, that wasn't nice." He said getting out of the car. He walked up to the door and buzzed her loft. "Um Kali its Zac I just wanted to," Barnaby screeched. "Quiet Barnaby. Sorry I just wanted to apologize for last night." Zac said taking his finger off of the buzzer waiting for her response.
|
Solomon yowled as the buzzer went off, running at the door and throwing up his paws as he pounced it, even if no one was there. Kali groaned, listening to Zac, jumping when she heard a screech, "The hell?" With another grunt, she sat up and shuffled over to the apartment door. She pressed the button, unlocking the Complex's door for Zac while she led the mic button down, "Come on up, I guess..just beware, I have a cat, I don't know how he acts around...yeah.." She let it down flopping face first back on the couch with a groan. She was so tired. Solomon followed silently behind her, jumping onto the arm of the couch by her head and laying down, purring rather loudly and annoyingly.
|
((I think Jasmine's just gonna chill with her tv for a bit, so continue))
|
"I will be fine." Zac said putting a telekinetic shield around himself and Barnaby. He got to her loft and knocked on the door as he opened it. He saw her lying face down on the couch, "I told you Barnaby that we shouldn't of came." Zac said with a sigh. Barnaby screeched, making even Zac jump. "Must you always do that, to her its really loud jeez. Look I'm sorry about him, he just wants some fruit because I offered him some when I picked him up from the vet." Zac said with a slight smile. He fully entered her loft and shut the door, "Um I usually don't do this but I'm sorry about last night, and umm if you want I can wipe it away from your memory, as well as you meeting me." Zac said hoping she wouldn't be insulted.
|
Solomon pulled his ears back at the bat, hissing loudly as he jumped from the couch. Standing on all fours, the cat was easily up to Zac's knees, stretched out, he could reach up to his shoulders with his paws. That's what Kali loved about Savannah cats, they were so big. She liked the big, wild cats. She reached out to grab Solomon's collar as he walked by, the action so quick as it was just automatic with her now, "Knock it off Solo. And don't worry about it Zac, I'm just exhausted." She sat up, grabbing onto Solomon and lifting him up with a grunt, "There's some pears and apples and such in the fridge if you want to give him something. I don't mind. I don't usually eat fruit anyway."
She walked off, and up the stairs quickly, locking Solomon in her room before hurrying back down. "Don't you think it's a little cliched that you have a bat as a pet? I mean, really.." She quickly looked to Barnaby, holding up her hands, "N-not to say that you aren't just the cutest thing ever, Barnaby." |
Zac went to the fridge and grabbed out a pear for Barnaby. He quickly teleported back by the door, He handed the fruit to Barnaby. "Actually yes I do but Barnaby's family has a long time relationship to my family. Now some of us can talk to them, I just read his mind." Zac said with a smile. Barnaby stuck out his little tongue when Kali said that. "Now that wasn't nice Barnaby." He said as he whistled so high so only Barnaby could hear it. Barnaby screeched really loud. "Well that's what you get for being mean." He said looking at Kali, "Go apologize." He said as he pulled the pear out of his wings with TK. Barnaby did a whine screech when the pear flew out of his wings, he flew over to Kali and landed on her shoulder. He rubbed his face to her face and flew back to Zac. "Good boy." Zac said handing back the pear.
|
Kali just about dropped when the bat was on her shoulder. She only really hated bats when they touched her. She remained stiff for a moment, after he had flown back to Zac, "Perhaps you could tell my why the hell Solo has to disrupt me every time I require peace and quiet. He drives me nuts sometimes. I mean, I know Savannah cats are a tad bit more in touch with their wild side than domesticated cats, but honestly, he's 3 by now, he should be pretty used to house life."
As if on cue, the door upstairs rattled loudly as Solomon threw his body against it. She groaned, "Or perhaps you could tell him to stop trying to bust down my door.." She chuckled slightly, "I thought..animals reacted badly towards vampires? Or is that just myth?" |
"I can try." Zac said with a laugh. "Well its actually kind of weird, wolves and bats have a strange connection with us. Most vampires believe we came from wolves, which I can see the enlarged canines, and bats well I'm not sure about. Dog's and cat's have a problem with us, they always think we are evil when most of us are not. All other animals are ok with us as long as we don't teleport right next to them." He said as he felt Solomon and tried to calm him down. "There was this one time when I opened my door and a wolf was sitting there like a dog waiting for a command." Zac said with a smile. He felt something off with the council, "Damn I have to go, there is trouble brewing with the council. Can you take care of my Audi?" He asked setting the keys on the table, waiting for her response.
|
Kali blinked, "Oh I see..umm..yeah..I'll just tell my land lord something ridiculous." She waited until he was gone then went upstairs to let Solomon out from her room. He bolted out and down the stairs with a growl; much too close to his wild cousin, the serval. She rushed downstairs after him, "Solo, it's fine. The rat's gone." Sorry Barnaby.. The cat snarled a bit at the door, watching it like he was stalking prey.
|
Jasmine sat up suddenly, a sharp piercing noise from her television rousing her. She had fallen asleep on her couch. Tiredly, she brushed hair that had come out of her ponytail out of her face and turned the TV off. She sat up and looked toward the kitchen, debating on whether should eat in or our tonight.
|
"You can drive it, just be careful." Zac said as he disappeared. He arrived at the council house. "Master what's wrong?" He asked as one of the council members walked by him.
"Ah Zac, well we are at war." The man said. "What do you mean war? We haven't been in war for at least 200 years." Zac said worried. "The Canadians, they killed Master Walter." The man said in a panic. "How Master Walter is over 1,000 years old." He said as he ran to catch up with the master. "I'm not sure but how ever they did it, they did it. Now Zac you helped us a lot when your grandmother was killed, but now I am telling you to run away go to Europe, they haven't been in war for over 2,000 years." The man said as he disappeared. "This can not be possible." He said as he teleported to Jasmine's house. He knocked on her door, "Jasmine its Zac, open up please." He said with anxiety in his voice. "I'm sorry Barnaby." |
((lawl, the Canadians. I have a Canadian friends, I think this would make her crack up))
Jasmine, who had just finished making herself some sort of pasta, jumped at the sound of a knock on her door. Hurriedly, she rushed over to open it. "Zac," She said in surprise. "What brings you here?" She opened her door wider, allowing him to come in. |
{Lol nice.}
"Um ya hi. Well Just be careful, we are at war. And by we I mean vampires." He said as he entered her apartment. "Don't go out at night, unless you are with someone. Most vampires don't care about humans when we fight. Damn I knew I should of stayed in Europe." He said pacing back and forth. "I normally wouldn't do this but, I care about you. Um if you want I can wipe your memory of last night's event's." He said rubbing his hands. "Or come with me to Europe." Zac said as he looked at her. |
Zac's words surprised her. Wiping her memory she understood, but leaving with him to Europe? That was an unexpected offer. Not that she wasn't tempted, Europe was a beautiful place, and she had aways wanted to visit. But to run away there with a man, vampire to be specific, she barely knew would be insane.
"This is... sudden." She said, shutting her door and taking a seat on her couch, motioning for him to take one as well if he wished to. "What I don't understand is how a war with vampires effects me? Or any other humans for that matter? Is it just more dangerous to be alone at night?" |
"Well, eherm Barnaby can you get off of my head? And you better not have gotten pear in my hair." Zac said pointing to the chandelier. Barnaby screeched and flew to the chandelier, he hung upside down. "Don't worry he wont break it, any way the last vampire war was 200 years ago. Hundreds of vampires died as well as thousands of humans. Vampires will break into houses and kill entire families so they can fight longer. Now I have killed many vampires but I have never been in a war like my grandmother was. The battles are usually held at night, but since most vampires except for the ones who are over 1,000 can go out into the sun, there has been battles during the day." He said as he started pacing again. "Why does America have to be in war all the time? Europe hasn't been in war for over 2,000 years." He said talking to himself. He stopped and looked at Jasmine, "Sorry I may be a killer, but I only do it when it is necessary. And this isn't my battle." Zac said letting Jasmine think over the new information she just learned.
|
Jasmine watched with amusement as Barnaby flew to her chandelier. She found it ironic that he had a bat for a pet. With a sigh she brushed hair from her face. "Well I suppose... it's not safe here anymore, is it?" She looked up at him for a moment then looked away. "And since I like having my memories... looks like I'm going to Europe." She announced, unsure it was a good thing or not. "What about Kali? Have you asked her about this?"
|
"Well then, start packing. My plane will leave in an hour." Zac said with a smile. "I was just gonna head back over there and ask her and I need to pick up my Audi." He said knowing that Kali would say no to his offer. "Barnaby stay here with Jasmine and help her pack. Don't worry I will bring you back an apple." He said turning his attention back to Jasmine. "Don't worry he is very friendly." Zac said as he disappeared. Barnaby screeched and flew over to Jasmine and landed on her shoulder. Zac appeared at Kali's loft front door and knocked, "Kali? Are you there?" He asked waiting for her to open the door.
|
"Gah! Dammit!" She looked over as Zac appeared, having been over by the bookcase, trying to get Solomon down, "No wonder he freaked out, you were coming. What do you want? I'm a bit busy." She pinched the bridge of her nose then held up her hand, "I'm sorry..ever since you stopped by Solo has been acting so strange. I'm sure he'll get over it. You just stay there or head up stairs, understand?"
Solomon let out a slight roar as Zac had reappeared. His ears were flat against his head and his claws could be seen peeking out from their sheaths. Kali narrowed her eyes at the cat, "Behave you beast. Obviously if he was here to harm me, he would've done so a long time ago." She turned around, "I'm sorry about him...what is it that you need? You seem..distressed." |
Jasmine smiled at the bat on her shoulder. "Well, aren't you a handsome fellow. Are you going to take care of me while Zac's gone?" She laughed a little, wondering if the bat could even understand her. "Well, just between you and me, I think you're a much better guardian. I feel absolutely safe." She walked to her bedroom and pulled out a duffel bag. She threw in her favorite cloths, her toiletries, her money and a few other items she felt it would be sad to leave. After that she grabbed the violin Zac had given her and put everything in the living room.
|
Barnaby screeched at Jasmine, he helped her pack her bag.
"Well I am distressed. There is a vampire war going on right as we speak." He said with a sigh, he rubbed his hand through his hair and pulled out some chunks of pear. "Damn bat. Anyway it is not safe to be here anymore. I'm going back to Europe, and I was hoping you would come back with me. I would feel awful if something happened to you, cause I like you a lot. Um you wouldn't have to pay for anything I have it all covered. I have some money stashed over there to, your mother can come to I can get her a job right away." Zac said feeling really vulnerable. |
Kali shook her head, "I can't go Zac. I can't just uproot myself like you and your kind can. I'm sorry, but I'm sure I'll be fine. I'll just be extra careful." She frowned, thinking about this war and what could happen. She knew she was in danger, due to the fact she knew about vampires now. She'd be a prime target, but no matter what country she lived in, rules were rules among vampires; or so she assumed, and her and Jasmine would be in trouble regardless.
After a moment of silence, she shook her head again, turning to face Solomon, "Come on down you crazy coot." She turned her head to look at Zac, "Again, I'm sorry, but I just can't go. It's not finical instability I'm worried about, I mean, honestly, I have a freaking 40 grand cat...Now, I'm not saying I'm loaded or anything, but we're set." She looked back, hearing a scratching as Solomon jumped down. She reached out, rather quickly; in fact extremely quickly, catching the cat mid-jump as he was heading for Zac. She turned around form the momentum to prevent herself from falling, holding him tightly as she looked to Zac, then jumped slightly, "Ah! Um, he does it a lot..jumping like that..so I've just learned to prepare." |
"I understand, but trust me it is about to get ugly here. Jasmine is coming with me. If you change your mind my plane is leaving in about 50 minutes. Here is my number here and there, if you need anything feel free to call me. I feel a strong connection with you as well as seeing your future a bit. I know you will be safe but for how long I am uncertain." He quickly knocked out Solomon and rushed over to give Kali a hug, he gave her a quick hug, and was back at the door in a second. "Don't worry he will be fine, he will be back up in about ten minutes. Good luck and be safe." Zac said as he grabbed his keys and teleported into his car.
|
"I'm sure I'll..hey! You!" She was about to jump forward and smack him, but then he was gone. She gently set Solomon down on the couch, glaring at the door, "Damn vampires..I have a Savannah cat for a reason you know..not just for my own amusement." She continued to mutter as she worked about the house, doing anything she could to mask the smell of vampire before Solomon would wake up again.
|
Jasmine flopped down on her couch, staring at her ceiling. She looked over at Barnaby. "Am I making the right choice, Barnaby? My family will be fine. The moved to Italy a while ago, so this won't reach them so I'm not worried about them." She sighed and continued on, not waiting for Barnaby to respond. "I'm leaving the only home I've ever known with someone I barely know to escape a war that no one but vampire a handful of humans know about? Is that crazy?"
|
Barnaby screeched.
Zac had everything packed that he wanted, he did it all with TK as he was driving. Zac, what is wrong with you? Your supposed to take both of the girls not just one of them." He said to himself as he packed all of his stuff into his trunk. "Ah yes money." He said as he teleported into his basement and grabbed all of the bundles of Euros. He teleported back to his car and got in. He teleported his car in front of Jasmine's house. He teleported again into Jasmine's apartment. "Ready to go?" Zac asked looking at Barnaby who was already flying over to him to land on Zac's head. |
Jasmine sat up and pulled her bag over her shoulder and picked up her violin. "I'm ready. Kali?" She asked.

{Nice Tink.}
"She said that she was gonna stay. I could kidnap her but it has been years since I last did a kidnapping." Zac said looking at Jasmine. "I care very much for you two and I couldn't live with myself if you two got hurt." He sighed. "What should I do?" Zac asked. |
Jasmine gently put her violin down and let her bag slide off her shoulder. She walked over to Zac and gently put her arm on his back in a comforting gesture. "I... don't know what to tell you." She paused. "But I think that you should follow your heart. I know that sounds cliche and is in almost every sappy movie ever made, but I'm serious. How much danger do you think she is in? If she could get hurt then..." She trailed off, not believing what she was saying. Was she actually encouraging him to kidnap her?
|
"Thank you." Zac said as he pulled Jasmine into a hug. "I will just keep an eye on her for now." He said in her ear. He let Jasmine go but still kept a hold of her he put his forehead on hers, and looked into her eyes. "Do you mind if I kiss you?" Zac asked sweetly.
"Well hello there lovely." Adam said as he appeared in Kali's living room. "You should of gone with Zac. He is a good judge of when to run, he is such a pansy ass." Adam said looking at Kali with yellow eyes. "Oh come now don't be too scared Zac will swoop in any second to save you, he is rather fond of you." Adam said with a wink. |
