once you hit about 350 pearls, you start getting pearls about every other post instead of every post.

I just didn't know whether you wanted the mule to be secret or not. since I can find out magically, I can't say unless you say first.

Someone mentioned a few days ago to me that there was going to be a second part in this event and that there were more items to be put into the shop when it happened. Is this a faulty rumor?

There is indeed a second part to the event. Here's a quote from Fen:
