we have to pay the BBC for a TV licence here in the UK. About $250 a year to receive proper live TV.
You're kidding? Here you just have to buy a TV. Of course, if you want anything besides basic channels you have to buy a package of some sort, either cable or dish.
If you purchase a TV the BBC licensing agency gets notified, then they'll send you a letter telling you you need a license. Only if you bought it for a household that doesn't all ready have a license though. They can even legally come in to your house and check to see if you're receiving TV without a license. Which can lead to massive fines and all that good stuff.
Wow...that blows my mind...
Only place I know that does it. BBC pretty much owns the TV industry here.
*nods* You don't have to buy a cable or dish package here if you don't want to. You can still get local channels.
We get 4 basic channels that don't require digital, but two of them a BBC channels. You even need a license to receive those for basic ones.
So my Tv is not connected to anything in any way. Just a PS3/Wii for Netflix and it has a USB port for playing shows I have on my PC. |
Well, at least you can still watch movies and such.
I have to resort to torrenting shows and being all illegal because i don't have the money to pay for such things. I feel sort of bad about it, but I'm about 6 years behind on shows Dx
Well, that sucks. Don't you have a neighbor you can watch TV with?
-chuckles- You people post in here more than I do.
Heheh, we get on a roll and can't stop.
So I see! It's great to see you two getting long so well.
Heheh, I like his sense of humor.
Ducky is pretty damn fantastic. I admired him from afar long before we actually became friends.
Both of you are, actually!
Pfft. I think I disagree with that, but I'm glad you think so.
*giggles* I thought you might, but I stand by it.
Mhm. I'm watching you, missy. I know there's a sly little trickster behind that cute avatar. You don't fool me.
*snickers* Of course there is. I've been a trickster since I was born.
Not surprised. And I'm sure you've had plenty of time to refine your skills, too, eh?
53 years! Time enough to refine a lot of things.
Indeed it is. Beats my 20 pretty dang easily, I'll tell you that much. I'm not even a natural trickster. I'll never be as goodie as you.
*hugs* Give it time, you'll be surprised.
How is it that tris manages to make me feel like a baby compared to everyone else? ._.
Well, you're only a few years younger than Gall, right? That's not bad. And I'm older than the norm around here.
Yeah.. but I'm still the youngest out of everyone I talk to on her Dx
Good luck with your quests, Gallagher! :D
Thank you very much, momo! -grins-
Poor Duck. Want me to go back in time, hm? |

Oh, this and that. I've been meeting lots of wonderful folks around here! Aha, it's about time I branched out more, honestly. I've been having a lot more pains than usual today, though.

The more paradoxes, the better!
And, yeah, momo. I've got a few issues with my joints, a combination of which are wonderful at giving me migraines. Ducky and I joined right around the same time. Same with a couple of our other mutual friends. |

I have junior rheumatoid Arthritis. I can semi-understand what it's like. Also, it sounds like you should take a trip to the tree top hospital Club House topic. |
That sounds pretty troublesome, darling. I started losing my hair a few months back because of stress. Stress! Let me tell you, finding out did NOT help the stress! Lmao!
I think I'm off to bed. It's nearly 8am, and I haven't slept! Eep! |
