Just post it! Or tell me if it's your current so I can upload it somewhere, aha.

Airina 05-30-2012 05:48 PM

Well its my current avi! Lol that was easy!

Arikana 05-30-2012 05:50 PM

I keep forgetting about this. D:
Though I also have no clue where to start to make an avatar for this... D:

Airina 05-30-2012 05:51 PM

I think that it was an awesome contest!

Arikana 05-30-2012 05:54 PM

Wait, is this over already? owo

Gallagher 05-30-2012 05:55 PM

All added~

I've posted a couple tips in the thread here... -smiles- I find that starting with a base body helps, then thinking of an outfit after the fact.

And, no, it's not over.

Arikana 05-30-2012 06:00 PM

*goes to take a look at the aforementioned tips*

Gallagher 05-30-2012 06:04 PM

Pfft. Silly Ari.

A good skin helps get the base down. Not just Puppet Master, either. Anything dulled down and not overly bright, or just a traditional zombie color like green. Tattoos help. There's not a lot of items that just pop out as Zombie! so a lot of this is being creative with how you get the look.

Arikana 05-30-2012 06:06 PM

owo

This sounds hard. D:
*goes to brainstorm first*

When's the deadline, Gall?

Gallagher 05-30-2012 06:08 PM

No set one yet, because we're not sure if the event will be extended yet or not, but the safe bet is a week-ish from now.

Arikana 05-30-2012 06:09 PM

Okay, so I still have some time. That's good to know. >w<

Gallagher 05-30-2012 06:09 PM

Yeah, aha. Just try not to procrastinate too much!

Arikana 05-30-2012 06:11 PM

Mmm, I suppose I could postpone the new avatar I've started working on to work on my entry first. This way I don't have to work to tightly against the deadline. >w<

Gallagher 05-30-2012 06:12 PM

Miiight be a good idea, but I'm biased~

Arikana 05-30-2012 06:14 PM

Lol, I can see that. XD

So how have you been doing lately, Gall? :]

Gallagher 05-30-2012 06:15 PM

Not so hot, but it is what it is. How 'bout you?

Arikana 05-30-2012 06:20 PM

Ehh, not too bad. Trying to get ready ahead of time for college this September.

Gallagher 05-30-2012 06:21 PM

Nice, nice. Try not to die, bro.

Arikana 05-30-2012 06:33 PM

I'll try, but I'll probably end up half-dead often.

Gallagher 05-30-2012 06:37 PM

To be fair, half dead just makes you like the rest of us.

Arikana 05-30-2012 06:52 PM

True, but time will only tell how I end up once school starts.

Lucid: 05-30-2012 06:55 PM

It all depends on what classes you take. I once had a semester where my schedule gave me four and a half day weekends and so much free time I didn't know what to do with myself. But I've also had a semester or two where I just don't have time to do anything at all other than school and work.

Arikana 05-30-2012 07:05 PM

Yeah, I hope my schedule isn't too busy or too free. I'd rather take less courses per semester/term and studying more/extra semesters/terms, to make up for the reduced load, than crowd my schedule up. :3

Airina 05-30-2012 07:07 PM

I personally find it is a bit better to sign up for a few extra not an obsessive amount, then see how the course load will be, its always easier to drop a class or two than try to frantically sign up for classes because you realize that its too easy and then kicking yourself about it. but that's just me.

Lucid: 05-30-2012 07:08 PM

Good luck. Eventually you're going to want to just finish and get out of there. XP But yeah. Taking a little extra time takes LOADS of stress off. I wish I could take less classes per semester but I have a scholarship that requires me to take certain amounts of credit hours.

Mhmm, I already planned to go about it that way, not only because it can get frantic to sign up last minute mid-term/semester, but also cause playing catch up is not easy at all.

Ahaha yeah, I'm sure I'll feel that way eventually. Hopefully not right away if I can prepare myself as best as possible for college life. But I'm sure I'll eventually feel that way. XD I dunno how people can't feel that way when they're going through post-secondary education.

Really? Lucid had a scholarship? Wow, that's impressive. What kind of scholarship was it? And how did you get it?

Airina 05-31-2012 12:34 AM

Yeah and my college allows you to drop classes up to 3 weeks into the semester.

Arikana 05-31-2012 12:47 AM

Really? Just three weeks time only? I wonder how much time my college will allow...

Airina 05-31-2012 12:59 AM

That's to drop a class, you can withdraw for 2 months? I think, but that leaves a W on your transcript. And 3 weeks is a long time. Where I used to go it was a week and a half or 2 weeks....

Lucid: 05-31-2012 01:01 AM

I had an academic scholarship for having high enough grades, but this semester I won an essay scholarship. :3 I think those ones are more special even though they give less money, because they're hand-picked instead of just automatically given to whoever meets the grade cutoff.

Arikana 05-31-2012 01:12 AM

Oh, I see. What did/are you studying, Lucid?

Lucid: 05-31-2012 01:19 AM

I'm studying Advertising! :D I love advertising soooooooo much. I think ads are very interesting and I want to make them!

Arikana 05-31-2012 01:27 AM

Ahh, I see. That's good that you're in a field that you love. >w<
So it sounds like you like starting at ads and breaking them down...?
What makes advertising interesting for you?

Airina 05-31-2012 01:42 AM

Anyways good luck with this coming fall Arikana.

Arikana 05-31-2012 01:43 AM

Thanks, Airina. <3

("third")

Airina 05-31-2012 01:44 AM

You're so very welcome ari. What are you going to school for?

Lucid: 05-31-2012 01:50 AM

I like figuring out what makes an ad "good" or "bad." Of course, there's so many factors that go into that. Some ads are effective but annoying or only reach a small group. Some ads are beautiful, entertaining, or otherwise enjoyable, but fail to get the message across. Some ads focus on the value of a product, while others focus on the culture of the brand.

A really, really awesome ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUG9qYTJMsI
^ This ad appeared on youtube and got 2 million hits within 4 days.

I subscribe to magazines mostly to look at the ads, but also for the design layout and, in the case of GQ, I can scan images in to use for projects.

Arikana 05-31-2012 02:23 AM

@Airina: Activation co-ordinator and gerontology. <3

@Lucid: Nice. I remember having to dissect ads back in high school for English in grade 11 and 12. And I still can't figure out what dissecting ads has to do with English... ._.;;

Airina 05-31-2012 11:32 AM

What is that exactly? I've never heard of it before....

Arikana 05-31-2012 11:53 AM

It's working with seniors and helping to plan meaningful activities to enhance the quality of life of seniors. :3

Geron is greek for "old man" and -logy means "study of", so gerontology means "study of old man".
