Basically to keep it short, Makoto thinks that Hayate had called the cops and tells Jayden not to get involved cause she's doing her job and he tells her, he's doing his job and that as long as there a citizen there, he's not leaving and that she can have her talk with the 'skull'. She tells Hayate to come out and if anyone else is there, for them to out of the way. Hayate chooses to send the shopkeeper toward Jayden and tells Makoto he didn't call the cops, which ends in the shopkeeper losing his life.. Hayate, seeing the death of his friend, tries to see if the shopkeeper is still alive and seeing he is dead, goes ballistic.
Jayden tries to calm him down but Hayate manages to get free by jabbing Jayden, assuming in the face and starts a fire, in hopes of killing Makoto. Makoto gets Jayden out of the burning building, and turns her attention to stopping Hayate.. Hayate, now literally looking like the human torch, gets out of the shop and pins Makoto to a wall, trying to strangle/burn her which she tries to get his mask off.
Managing to recover, Jayden tries to help Makoto by trying to pull Hayate off of her. In the end, Hayate's mask comes off and being exhausted, he falls back on Jayden, releasing Makoto who ends up running into the nearest store and getting the fire extinguisher to put out the flames, saving both Jayden and Hayate in the process which leads to Jayden arresting Hayate and curious to why Makoto didn't allow both of them to burn.
After both of them getting first aid and Hayate having a tantrum cause he didn't manage to avenge the shop keeper, Jayden decides Hayate is basically a matter with the cops and not the hunters since the art shop is long past being saved and tells Hayate, since the cops will probably not give him food or drink upon arriving, he will buy him something to eat which Makoto is not amused about but offered to aide Jayden seeing Hayate is refusing to cooperate.
Makoto drives them to a restaurant she knows of and Jayden, after he manages to get Hayate into the restaurant, unlocks the cuffs to let Hayate eat, saying if he tries anything, he will put the cuffs back on. After eating, Jayden decides to go out for a smoke and Hayate asks if he can have one, which Jayden gives him a smoke and heads outside. Makoto finds it amusing that both of them smoke. Hayate and Jayden have a small discussion during their smoke break, and Jayden tells Hayate he doesn't know what his future will be and when Hayate start freaks over his mask, Jayden tells him not to worry about it but to worry more about his fate.
Makoto paid for the meals and waited inside for them to finish, asking Jayden if they were done bonding and Jayden replied they were having a polite conversion, nothing more.
And well, the rest is basically the trip to the police station.. unless Hayate pisses Makoto off.. o. o;
