So... at what point to a dump my friend for being a jerk?
She decided she had to "critique" my fluid paintings and told me nothing but how she dislikes them for this or that reason. Then in the same visit basically demanded I make lotion for her daughter for cheaper than I normally sell lotions for. I mean yeah she offered to pay for lotion for once but goddamn. Way to devalue everything I do lady.

Edit: aaand now I can't do anything without her voice swirling in my head being a bitch.

you're not being a bitch. if she's being a jerk (which it sounds like she is), then you should probably cut ties sooner rather than later.

Damies, I agree with Den here. Critique sure can help you become better in your arts and crafts, but there's also line between being constructive and just trying to bring everything down, and she sounds more like the latter. If you value her friendship otherwise, I'd suggest to talk about your concerns, because some people actually don't mean to be jerks and simply don't realize when they're acting obnoxious. Yet if you're feeling more of an "enough is enough, lady!" vibe, then it won't get better just by tolerating her behaviour a little longer.

@Dena & Death:

I often find myself thinking I'd be better with not having her as a friend but she is also a friend of my mom's in that mom thinks of her as another daughter. But she stresses me out more often than not.

Her doing the art thing would have been fine if it were just "I'm not really into this style" vs "I don't like all the blobs and weird shape and..." she basically doens't like the style that's all there is to it and instead of saying that she had to rip the art apart as to why it was not good in her opinion.

She can be excessively rude without realizing it it seems. At least I hope she is unaware of it and not a stone cold bitch for reals.

when my hand's healed up, I'm gonna look into getting a Kevlar or chainmaille glove, so I can try again to carve tools for my SCA persona.

I sliced my middle finger on my left hand pretty bad. I had to go to the ER to get it patched up since it didn't wanna stop bleeding on its own.

I have actually made a lot of turtle progress! And have also figured out the perfect way to get my sock loom's slider piece to stay in place when doing small sections in the round since the loom doesn't really tighten at both ends like it should.

This month has been dragging on for me so far. xD

All turtle parts are made! 8D
I just need to sew, stuff, and assemble.

Regarding March's theme, I ordered a soap making starter kit from an online craft store, and it's labeled "sea creatures". One of the molds is a turtle, but so far I have no idea if the kit will arrive in time. Still that's probably going to be my turtle project. (That or the pajama pocket plushie Gizzie posted a page ago)

Personally it reminds me more of a planet than a turtle, but I agree it sure looks cool.
