Ducky 05-28-2012 12:00 PM

Now i go out 3-4 times a week and do all sorts of nerdy things and spend time with up to 20 other people ho share interests with me. Everything is good now. I'm still a bit weird when it comes to my music taste, but everything else is accepted :P

Umaeril 05-28-2012 12:16 PM

Wow I don't see metal as being weird. I am glad you have friends and all that, makes life easier. Sorry for the delay, I am writing 100 words to put in the contest here. I think I can scrape up that many words cohesively.

Ducky 05-28-2012 12:23 PM

I've gone from general metal, to very specific sub-genres that a lot of people don't even know exist xD Synphonic, folk and orchestral metal...

I haven't even had a look at the contests here yet. generally they involve having some level of creativity, which i lack.

*peeks head in*

Umaeril 05-28-2012 12:42 PM

Hiya Lauv! :)

I wrote my 100 word prose, it is exactly 100 words but it's pretty crappy work. I mean the concept has been done since time immemorial. Anyhow all one can do is try. Right?

Lauv Keiko 05-28-2012 12:51 PM

what's the 100 word prose for, uma?

Gallagher 05-28-2012 12:56 PM

-twitch- ...

In my mind, "ya'll" has NEVER been the same thing as "y'all". That conversation made me headdesk. There ain't nothin' that gets me goin' more than trifflin' jank like that.

Also, I hope for the contest.

Umaeril 05-28-2012 12:58 PM

It's for that contest in the User Appreciation forum, the prose contest. I might do one that is 500 words but you actually need a story and I don't have any stories in my head right now.

Edit: What does "jank" mean please?

Gallagher 05-28-2012 01:02 PM

Jank, junk, stuff, things. Its specific meaning varies depending on the context, but it's usually used in the neutral or negative sense. Good things ain't jank.

Lauv Keiko 05-28-2012 01:03 PM

@Uma: Oh, I see... *nods* I would like to read that prose ^^

@gall: *tilts head to the side*

Umaeril 05-28-2012 01:11 PM

I am not understanding Gallagher. Are you saying my use of "ya'll" made you headdesk? I apologize and I am happy to spell it "y'all" if you wish.

Oh Lauv that is very kind of you...you can read it if you want, I guess they won't be posting them if one loses...not sure.

Gallagher 05-28-2012 01:14 PM

It's a thing. "Ya'll" brings to mind "ya", making it sound like "you will", instead of "you all". My area has a good variety in used accents, so getting specific about it is kind of a habit.

I think Quiet was going to, for people who were okay with it.

Umaeril 05-28-2012 01:20 PM

Ok Gallagher.

Anyhow, time for me to take off, ttyl.

Lauv Keiko 05-28-2012 01:25 PM

You can post it in my thread or as a visitor message or as a PM~ :3

Ducky 05-29-2012 11:51 AM

I see both ya'll and y'all as you all, but I personally type y'all as it makes more sense.

Lauv Keiko 05-29-2012 11:55 AM

As for me, I use "y'all" in jest or endearment to a certain group of people... if I pertain to the whole humanity, I use "You humans" or "you people" <--- but that's my misanthropicism. XD

Ducky 05-29-2012 12:09 PM

Just out of curiosity.. is Aye used as yes anywhere outside of Scotland? xD

Lauv Keiko 05-29-2012 12:17 PM

yes, ducky. XD everyone knows "aye" means yes...as far as I know... *blinks*
ever since looney tunes introduced that to kids. xD

Kotomi 05-29-2012 12:19 PM

Title of thread reminds me....

I want a duck pond!!!!!
(there have been so many at the park little baby ducks and some are doing pretty well, wish I had a place duck would come too)

Ducky 05-29-2012 12:21 PM

I know most people are aware that it means yes, i'm just curious as to whether or not it is actually used. I say aye without thinking in skype calls and everyone will laugh or act like i said something cool >_<

Hello there o-o -gives you a mini duck pond-

Lauv Keiko 05-29-2012 12:27 PM

@ducky: It's just like the american, 'Aight... *nods*
**has been studying language on her own**

Hi hi kotomi~!

Ducky 05-29-2012 12:36 PM

'Aight being 'all right', yes? That is used here by certain groups of people.

Lauv Keiko 05-29-2012 12:41 PM

*nods* yeah, mostly used by african americans.

Kotomi 05-29-2012 12:45 PM

Lauv Keiko 05-29-2012 12:53 PM

*pokes kotomi* you like mini ducks? :3

Kotomi 05-29-2012 12:55 PM

yes, they are so cute
I've saved some ducks before little baby from a road and 2 adult ducks from the road, the female was hit but she got better and later came back to visit me
it was really sweet,
i also find it a bit funny, my boyfriend this past year walked with me to the park and he said "come to me my duckie people"
and the ducks came out of the water and sat around him
just remembering it makes me giggle

Lauv Keiko 05-29-2012 01:09 PM

x3 that's both cute and hilarious. "come to me my duck people"
awws...if there are dog people, there are duck people.

Kotomi 05-29-2012 02:04 PM

yep

though he also can do something similar to dogs, get them to like him, like I can with cats
it takes more patience with them, at least from what I've seen

ducks at the park are more used to people which is why I think it happened
in the wild I doubt that would happen but I'll be amazed if he does it again

Lauv Keiko 05-29-2012 03:44 PM

Wow, that's amazing, the ducks here are shy xD

Kotomi 05-29-2012 05:15 PM

well some are here, and those have a better chance at living the scared ones
sadly
a lot that people tend to pick up as little ducklings and they maybe nicer to humans later in their lives, however, they are more prone to be hit by cars attacked by dogs and captured by humans

which my neighbor had saved a couple of ducklings that happened to

the ducks that stick close to their mother are the best to survive, in the wild

Lauv Keiko 05-29-2012 05:17 PM

Yeah, the shy ones and the scared ones have the highest percentile to survive..well, since they're far from predators, they're far from death >A<
I feel bad for the ducklings...

Kotomi 05-29-2012 05:30 PM

that's one reason my bf told me the other day I should stop counting how many ducklings were at the pond, I know there are 3 good ones that more likely will survive, now I just hope the new batches will do as well as them, wishes them luck

noticed a few of the new ones already following the mother so I bet they have a high chance and there are some that were farther that were just speedy they should be good too

though people aren't suppose to feed the ducks I think some of the people who have been fishing leave the fish they catch out on purpose for the ducks saw them munching on a huge carp that was nearly half my height
saw the little ducklings munching on it

Twigg 05-29-2012 05:55 PM

Hello everybody! :) How is everyone today? <3

Lauv Keiko 05-29-2012 06:00 PM

awws...D: that's not good to hear...

is kotomi a vegan?

Lauv Keiko 05-29-2012 06:24 PM

why hello there, twigg~ I'm kinda busy at work..
how about you?

Kotomi 05-29-2012 07:29 PM

no not a vegan
didn't even know the word till I was in 12th grade
however, I refuse to eat any animal I haven't had before, when I was younger only exception I have to that was my bf really wanted me to try salmon, though not sure how much I tasted of it with it being covered ketchup

pork is an another exception though the reverse I tried it when I was little and never liked it

today seems like a nice day other than all the storms earlier in the morning
but the rain was needed and helped reduce heat

Ducky 05-29-2012 10:34 PM

people actually posting in my thread. what is this madness? :O

Kotomi 05-30-2012 01:37 AM
