Well, I'll keep my eyes open...
By which, I mean that I'll probably not notice and miss any opportunity when it comes around.
XD

So like guys like so. . . .

you like Turkleton?

I mean Giz is kind of terrifying.

XoGizmooX 11-21-2017 10:42 PM

Lol I'm either a cannibal like Espy thought or I am a ticked off Thanksgiving turkey that was being eaten by humans and my poor friend all that was left of him was the legs I'm holding so I got revenge on the humans and pood gibblets all over the place

Derpy McBlueEyes 11-21-2017 10:48 PM

Derpy plops down, pouting. "I wanna turkey hat!"

I'm sure I've posted about why we discontinued the old story elsewhere, but it was quite a while ago from what I remember. It had a lot of significant, really unworkable, issues that eventually led to us just abandoning it. At the core was that it was originally conceived (long before I came around) as a roleplay between staff members with no sense of cohesion or standard of writing ability holding it up.

Having inherited a disaster of cliches and plotholes, I spent several years trying to beat something resembling a metaplot out of this pile of shallow self-inserts, wish-fulfillment archetypes, and meme characters, but my efforts at making them into multi-dimensional individuals worth reading about were largely met with disappointment. I can only presume nostalgia and personal affinity to the former staff members who inserted themselves into the site plot was to blame.

On the subject on taking on new writers, though, a problem almost as large as the one I just mentioned back then was that, despite having a fairly large team of "writers", I would inevitably end up having to completely rewrite their scene submissions, which was really just a waste of everyone involved's time. So, any new writers need to be able to produce a level of quality where that won't be necessary.

Also, Glitch, you already know my opinion on Turkleton. :|

Derpy McBlueEyes 11-21-2017 10:52 PM

Derpy crawls over and tugs at Suze's leg. "Imma do all the writing, okay? It gonna be great!"

But seriously though, I can understand needing a certain level of writing from a writing team. Why hire them if you have to re-write their submissions? I get it.

Derpy McBlueEyes 11-22-2017 01:50 AM

"Yay! Now I have a hat too!" Derpy grins and waddles around, making loud faux turkey noises.

Depending on what she's taken at the time, either literally the greatest thing of all things or an eldritch horror that Rupert needs to deal with cause she's about to pass out. :|

Espy 11-22-2017 02:17 AM

See?! So, clearly, she needs one :|

Suzerain of Sheol 11-22-2017 02:25 AM

Real talk, Rupert needs one. WTB Turkleton on skeleton buddy nao.

Espy 11-22-2017 02:29 AM

That....might be realistically accomplished if we made a floating Turkleton head right about where Rupert's skull is.
