Daw, what's wrong willis?

My grandma came home and decided to talk to me. She goes on and on about everything in her usual really negative know-it-all way, from how I won't be able to keep my insurance for very long to how she's always busy and active but I sit around on the computer all day. I said "That's why I go outside, but it gets boring out there, too, being alone with nothing to do." And she started rattling off this list of things she does outside, like mowing the lawn, as if that's a legitimate thing I could have been doing all along. So now I am feeling very upset and depressed and aggravated.

Who even cares about that, when the fact is it's been fucking winter and there has been no lawn to mow in the first place. It's not even a real suggestion. She's just throwing out some bullshit to emphasize how much more of a life she has than me because she's soooo busy aaallll the time and I never leave my room. And obviously if she can have all these wonderful things to do all day every day, then anyone can. Never mind that she spends all her time at the freaking church and if she's at home she's in front of the TV. If there's household chores and such that need to be done, she is well aware that I'd be happy to do them, but no I'm not gonna just take it upon myself to assume that something should be done and do it when it's not my fucking house and I don't know what all she wants done or how or when. So no. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO HERE. Nothing outside of being online or taking a walk, and taking walks by myself gets fucking depressing.

Daw, but I mean, you do look for jobs and and you laundry and such, not to mention when we can, we hang out, you don't just do NOTHING, if you have the opportunity to do something you do it. Besides, where are you supposed to go without transportation and money? It's not like you can invent things to keep you busy....

I don't know, that that's why it's so damn aggravating. She KNOWS I have no car and no money, she KNOWS I have nobody here to do things with and that I would gladly see you every day if it were possible, but it's not. She knows there is nothing set up for me to do around the house unless she TELLS ME what actually needs to be done and how, so I don't know what the hell she expects me to do all day that isn't "sit on the computer all day". It's all I fucking have; I can't even talk on the phone all day like she does because I don't have free minutes until after nine unless it's a weekend, and you don't have a cell phone. I don't have a church to go exercise at every other day, or to have meetings at about mission trips and whatever else. I don't have a circle of old ladies and people to visit all the time, engagement parties to go to, whatever. And I sure as hell couldn't get to them without a car any damn way. She's just being fucking negative for no reason and that is the last thing I need in my goddamn life right now.

Roo, I wouldn't take it to heart, she's probably just stressed and you got more to worry about. Besides, you don't even have all your stuff so you can't really do any of your hobbies yet, I mean goddamn you just got here and you've been trying to get a job almost round the clock, everyone needs to just kinda chill and take things in stride. Once you get a job you'll have more to do and your financial stuff will be taken care of, until then we just need to try and keep our pants on and hope for the best.

My hobbies include drawing and writing, both of which involve the use of a computer. So apparently those don't count. And if I have time to sit around drawing, I obviously need to be working on sending in more applications instead.

Yes. As does nearly everything that I could possibly have to do here. I cannot just go work outside. I cannot go waltzing off to the church every few minutes. I can guarantee you without the church crap she'd be spending a lot more time in front of the TV.

I don't fucking know. I really don't. This is why I have a thing about people seeing me, or about not doing anything. I can't have it. I have to at least look like I'm doing something at all times, even when there's absolutely nothing to be done, because that's what I grew up with.

I will not exercise in front of her. I have already told her I do exercises by myself, and that I take walks or sometimes just go outside. Doesn't make a difference.

Still can't believe she says that, she told me this because I mentioned being low on gas and being tired from driving myself and my brother to school all day when she wanted me to run up to the convenience store and buy her some smokes. She was all "How can you be tired? You're so lazy you never do anything so where do you get off being tired? Go and get my smokes or you'd better not get on that computer since you're so tired!"

Indeed, and this was on a monday, after I got home at 9:30 Pm from my four hour class, I had already driven my brother to and from school that same morning and I didn't feel like getting back behind the wheel and driving all the way into town after having just gotten home from a 30 minute drive on the interstate in traffic following four hours on campus editing and coding data.

Ugh. No reason to be tired, my ass.

Yeah, I'd been up since 7 am at that point and had driven back and fourth to campus SIX TIMES I had been home a total of 3 waking hours out of the entire day and when I was home I was up every ten minutes watching my sister, cooking dinner or getting mom something, be it coffee, soda, or chips. But I had no reason to feel tired. But I went out again, drove all the way up to the gas station, bought a pack of smokes and finally got back home around 10:30 and I still got bitched at for not doing the dishes before I went to school.

Must be out of her mind...

Yeah, oh but every day I have to listen to her bitch about how tired she is and how little sleep she got. She goes to bed at like 6 in the morning and wakes up at 2 in the afternoon most day.

Nigger please, with mine and my brother's school schedule I'm averaging 5-6 hours a night on weekdays and between Monday and Tuesday less than that.

Good lord. Question is, what's she got to be so tired about?

Oh, she cooks a meal and takes care of her toddler for part of the day. She also packs dad his lunch for work. The vacuuming, dishes and kitchen sweeping and bathroom cleaning are my and my brother's jobs and I'm the designated driver for everyone who isn't dad and technically the secondary breadwinner since I'm the only other person around here who has a job from time to time.
