Hey if shops can put up Xmas stuff in October they can put up Halloween stuff in August. >:V

Stabbsworth 08-17-2019 11:16 AM

it's halloween. soon. very soon!

then comes the skeleton war for the fortieth time.

mdom 08-17-2019 09:36 PM

hehe I had a friend on FB saying that halloween season stars after easter xDDD

Death by Mirrors 08-18-2019 05:14 AM

I have also already started on seasonal crafting, but that's because I'm taking part in an advent calendar swap and the finished calender should be at the recipients house before December 1st so they can open it in time. It's kinda odd though to see our supermarkets already stock gingerbread and spiced speculoos cookies.

Just to spite everyone who goes early for holiday rushes and gets excited for Christmas in frickin' NOVEMBER, I get really festive during the most inappropriate times, B} Like jingle shorts, snowmen, baking, santa hats, (omg almost spelled satan hats. X'D), all that yuletide goodness!

Stabbsworth 08-18-2019 02:43 PM

reason why i can't wait for halloween is that my bro might be hosting a party this year. also i can't exactly trick or treat since i'm over the age of ten but i went when i was sixteen anyways. :3

Witchchylde 08-18-2019 03:51 PM

I'll wear my 'Halloween' shirts any time of the year, mostly for the black cats.

Stabbsworth 08-18-2019 06:22 PM

black cats are good cats.
shame that bubble went missing. probably being cared for by an old lady somewhere. he came back smelling of baby shampoo.

trystan830 08-18-2019 10:51 PM

i wear my halloween socks year 'round.

here's the thing that i've observed at my store with Xmas as well as Halloween items:

year 1, everyone wants the Thing that's heavily promoted in the ad, so they come in to get it in, say, week 3 of september... but it's sold out. so the following year they come in for the Thing in week 1 of september. now it sells out that week, so the people who were going to come in week 2 aren't able to get it. following year, all those people come in at the end of august for the Thing, and now it sells out at the end of august.

and that's how we end up having halloween in july. also, we're sold out of said Thing this year already.

Major 08-18-2019 11:07 PM

My character that I usually portray as my avatar is, uh, "Halloween-colored". So she's festive year-round.

i decided to make her birthday October 31st just to spice things up lolol

trystan830 08-18-2019 11:21 PM

i like her, Major :)

Major 08-18-2019 11:53 PM

Thank ye! Thank ye kindly!

Kaderin Triste 08-18-2019 11:57 PM

Ah, I should start making things for people's xmas presents.
*remembers I have very few friends*
Nah, early November should be fine...

trystan830 08-19-2019 12:10 AM

you're welcome, Major!

and Kaderin, i'm going to ask probably next month what my brothers think their sons would like crocheted. my cousins' kids have outgrown that

Rats, and here I wanted to buy that Thing next week...

...also, how do you ever outgrow crochet?

trystan830 08-19-2019 10:28 AM

LOL!

maybe not outgrow crochet per se, but they're at the age (11-15) where they don't want a stuffed toy, but maybe don't want a scarf or something else just yet. also i don't make fitted things for people if they don't live in my house, so mittens, gloves, socks are out; hats are iffy. and i'll only make blankets for my nephews XD
