He said he is helping because I love this site and want to fight for it, but also to help out the friends I have made here, be they staff or the members that love and are just as devoted to it as I am.

He is the same on all forum sites, he gets on and has no idea what to say. I thought I had writer's block. XD

C: that's the same thing I had issues with when I first started and it took me a while to get the hang of it. but if you look at our items and see how here's really not a 1px outline around them, the shading is just darker near the edges, that's how Trisphee-style pixeling works.

Wow Panda, that's not bad for a beginner (you said you were a beginner, right? orz). Good job!

Thank you for the motivation. :D

you're welcome. when I was making my first attempts at pixeling which were made of fail and lose, I was told, "blend the outline in, blend the outline in, it still looks cartoony so blend the outline in." and I had no idea what I was doing wrong - I was trying to just change the color of the outline to be just a shade darker than the pixels right next to it. I thought that's what Fen and Taiki meant. XD I figured it out after watching one of Fen's pixel lessons, so I thought I'd explain it more clearly since I had trouble with the same parts.

In order to blend the outline, how should I set the layer to?

Like Multiple, Overlay....O.o

Panda 04-03-2011 12:09 PM

How is this one?

I try to blend it but I'm not sure if it is correct.

Sora, do you pixel as well? Maybe you should try too. ^ ^

I can see my self improving really fast. I think you can too. <3

Taiki 04-03-2011 01:32 PM

@ Rem, there are 2 ways to mask a layer. One way is to add a clipping mask and the other way is to hold your cursor between 2 layers, hold Alt (I think it's Alt, I'm not on a computer right now to double check), a weird little icon will appear and click. The layer above ther other one should get an arrow pointing down on it and now you'll only be able to draw on that layer where ever there is stuff on the layer below. I'm not at home right now, but I can make a video of me doing it on my livestream or something if you're interested. C:

@ Gozed, I love Metal Gear Solid. *u* I've never seen Tron or played Halo, but I will look into it.

Angel, thank you so much. :3

Sora, your not the only one. I was like that too and mine always come out super duper duper duper ugly and everything. You have to keep practicing and there are many ways to pixel. I just found my style right now and I am using a very different technique and it is easier for me. :3

My grass skirt I made right now. :3

Blaine 04-03-2011 01:54 PM

I need more practice at pixeling, but I've always considered. Maybe if I get better. Hm. I've only done it about three times and those tries are in my gallery. |D;
I don't understand the whole making grey into color thing, even for regualr art, so I always do it in color. xD;
