i was attacked by a cockerel when i was like 5 XD i don't deal with them unless they are already plucked and gutted

SparX 04-23-2016 06:07 PM

My roommate and my husband have it in their head their going raise chickens this year or next XD
I told them they need to take care of them and me and lee are not responsible for them but boys will be boys I guess >.>

littl3chocobo 04-23-2016 06:10 PM

i've always found 'boys will be boys' to be an admittance of social failure and personal laziness, someone somewhere did not do their job if stupidity and cruelty is allowed to run rampant

SparX 04-23-2016 06:20 PM

I can see how you can see that.
I also can't tell if you were directing the statement at me, or making a general statement as a whole.
I meant it like they will do their own thing, since their grown adults "technically" XD

Fulkth 04-23-2016 06:31 PM

It's funny because I am the one who wanted to raise chickens and my husband and roommate said no. ;_;

littl3chocobo 04-23-2016 08:27 PM

both? XD every time i see/hear that line i just get so irrationally mad like people have said that about both adults and children after said adults and children have done everything from being rude to outright brutalizing and killing someone(i am not even joking there was a court-case where that line was used to try and defend willful acceptance of violence) and it's very gross and dangerous. not only are males treated like they are only slovering brain-dead children incapable of making elective decisions that are both responsible and safe but it excuses behavior that would otherwise be looked down upon as being brain-dead and lacking in responsibility. it's a terrible phrase and deserves to be treated with the same disdain as any other outdated bit of sexism that we know to be untrue

but that is just /my/ two cents XD i am a feminist and i would like to think that i am more evolved than the stuff that grows under bathroom tiles

I love love love egg salad sandwiches it's my favorite thing to eat in the summer don't ask me why, well that and pickled eggs. lol

Buying eggs at the store will cost you an arm and a leg, best to get your own chickens and have farm fresh eggs it's cheaper.

Fulkth 04-23-2016 10:50 PM

I love chickens when they are babies. They are so cute! If only they were so afraid of humans...

trick to that is handling them regularly, and helping them associate human peeps with good things.

Fulkth 04-24-2016 10:44 AM

Good things like food and water? :D

Our roommate's cat didn't like us very much so I used to try to feed her all the time to get her to like me. The roommate said that it wouldn't work. That cats just think that the food magically appears in their food bowl.

I replied with: Then why do they start whining when they are out of food?

ZenKitty 04-24-2016 12:38 PM

I helped my boys (kitties) get really tolerant by futzing with them from the day we got them at 7 weeks old. Futz with their paws, to make claw trimming easier, futz with their teeth so teeth cleaning is easier, hold them even when they don't want it, to get them accustomed to it, brush them to get them to like it, all the while giving them treats. Now when I go to trim one of the boys claws, the other boy waits by the chair for his turn. :P

Made a southwestern seafood frittata yesterday and it was really yummy. :D

SparX 04-24-2016 12:52 PM

3 of my cats pretty tolerable of everything because I messed with them growing up too XD
Bonez is the most tolerable, he is so chill you can give him rasberries on his belly =3

ZenKitty 04-24-2016 02:44 PM

I've never tried that (cat hair in mouth - blech), but I bet Presto would be too. Pixel would just be a squirm bucket. XD

Witchchylde 04-24-2016 03:02 PM

I believe the Russian Silkie Chicken is very amenable to being handled, much easier to pet than the ordinary chicken. Also they look like giant cotton balls.

littl3chocobo 04-24-2016 04:50 PM

those big floofy ones that look like sheepdogs? XD

CreativeCorpse 04-24-2016 05:02 PM

okay i like scrambled eggs in ramen does that count?

Witchchylde 04-24-2016 05:03 PM

Yep, those are the ones. They're very placid and actually seem to enjoy being cuddled.

littl3chocobo 04-24-2016 05:03 PM

yes XD as long as the eggs you scrambled in it are not chocolate ones (we are egg racist here)

littl3chocobo 04-24-2016 05:04 PM

they look like they'd enjoy a good brushing too

Fulkth 04-25-2016 04:04 PM

Our cat doesn't mind his paws being touched and he doesn't growl when we are near his food bowl. But he does sometimes get annoyed when you play with his tail. And he's not a big cuddler. He hates cuddles. His idea of cuddles is sleeping next to you. XD

Well, since my plans for Friday got kinda messed up, I'm going to Omaha later today, then coming home so I'm able to take Mom to the high school in time for her to go to a thing related to her job.

littl3chocobo 04-26-2016 03:38 AM

you said a lot of things there and yet i have no idea what is going on XD

I had plans, but forgot that today is the day my tiny, sweary, British friend was gonna be on Skype, so I didn't do the plans.

littl3chocobo 04-26-2016 08:43 PM

ooooooh, that hella sucks X but at least you made your friend happy?

Athilea Majiri 04-26-2016 09:34 PM

Super cheesy scrambled eggs with seasoning salt. It's super yummy.

littl3chocobo 04-26-2016 09:40 PM

mmmmmm, cheesey eggs<3

walkingdeadandalone 04-27-2016 11:38 AM

I enjoy eggs that are fried in leftover ramen broth, or scrambled with mayonnaise, salt, and pepper, fried, then eaten with sliced tomato~

SparX 04-27-2016 12:25 PM

That made me think of a recipe I made as a kid. the book called it welsh rarebit. Essentially its cheese, egg, Worcestershire sauce and mustard on toast topped with tomatoes broiled.
Kinda wanna have it for breakfast now .-.

walkingdeadandalone 04-27-2016 02:08 PM

hen why not make it for breakfast?

Just made myself eggs fried with corn oil and butter with garlic powder, salt, pepper, chipotle sauce, and with melted cheese and salsa on top~

littl3chocobo 04-27-2016 08:10 PM

mmmm, miso egg is pretty fabulous XD i have some miso in the freezer

walkingdeadandalone 04-27-2016 08:22 PM

What's miso egg? o-o

littl3chocobo 04-27-2016 08:29 PM

eggs made in miso broth XD

walkingdeadandalone 04-27-2016 08:32 PM

Is it boiled or fried?

littl3chocobo 04-27-2016 08:36 PM

boiled, fried, baked, it's all good XD the recipe is the same, it is miso diluted lightly and added to egg

Den 04-27-2016 08:39 PM

One of these days, I will get to Omaha to get my quail eggs! Today, i couldn't, 'cause a friend of mine came to town for lunch...

littl3chocobo 04-27-2016 08:54 PM

haha, as long as you get them when it is warm outside XD unless you have a fish grill of course then do it whenever hahaha

Den 04-27-2016 08:56 PM

Doesn't matter whether it's warm out or not, I'll be getting the canned ones, unless I can get enough money saved up to get fresh ones, and a way to keep them cold...

littl3chocobo 04-27-2016 09:45 PM

i mean for grilling XD

also, nice mai

Athilea Majiri 04-27-2016 09:55 PM

I also really like egg sandwiches.

How are you all doing?

littl3chocobo 04-28-2016 01:37 AM
