Yams are a totally different species. Many varieties of sweet potato ARE sweet (like the purple ones). And actually, sweet potatoes were the first plant called potato. What is now the common potato is actually a late comer to the name. And sweet potatoes also come in dry white varieties that make fluffy mashed potatoes to shame the best common potatoes. And this old loser can eat those without poisoning herself.

*ends nerd rant*

zoned out at "they're different" cause i was always told they were the same thing different names. they're even labeled the same at stores. and than the rest was like "what? i don't get it"

it may be on account of i need food and am just getting my first meal of the day at 4:30 pm....

Haha, that's fun. A coder was not paying good attention there. XD

Actually, me too, unless I know already it'll make me sick. That's why I'm such a fan of raw fish.

I tried the sleeping. Now I'm even crazier.

I've studied horticulture and plant taxonomy (fancy way of saying, I geek about plants). The sweet potato and the yam are really truly different aminals (spelling mistake on purpose).

dragoness129 11-21-2016 06:18 PM

I took a nap after my husband's eye exam, and slept like all day.

Tam I am 11-21-2016 06:23 PM

0_0 Wow, that's a big sleep. How will/did sleeping at night go?

*looks around for someone to chase with my food on a stick*

Maro 11-21-2016 06:31 PM

I am so frickin' hungry right now omg

Tohopekaliga 11-21-2016 06:38 PM

Perfect place to be, then. :P

dragoness129 11-21-2016 06:58 PM

Got about 5 hours of sleep during the night, then 4 more hours later when I went to sleep again.
My body is still fighting sickness.

Glitch 11-21-2016 07:01 PM

i am not hungry . . . i am very full

Potironette 11-21-2016 07:07 PM

I can't eat anything except hot liquid and crackers right now. Everything is giving me stomach aches. I think it's from stress or school all-nighters '~'

dragoness129 11-21-2016 07:19 PM

We just had some roast here. It was slow cooking all night long.

Glitch 11-21-2016 07:22 PM

we had roast last night but we went to cafe ole for lunch today and I binge ate D,:

dragoness129 11-21-2016 07:25 PM

I went to Bob Evans for the first time yesterday. I was very full for several hours afterwards. It was super good!

Ohhh. Reminds me of when I was getting over chicken pox I caught as an adult. Just sitting down is cause for a nap, huh?

Awwww. Maybe you could try a bit of plain rice with salt, and some broth on it. That works for me when my insides are in revolt.

dragoness129 11-21-2016 07:37 PM

Yep, plus it was really cold in the room, so I laid under the covers and went right to sleep.

Potironette 11-21-2016 07:37 PM

I don't have broth, but I have hot water!
Rice by itself has been making me sick though.

Do you have green tea? Rice with green tea poured on it is supposed to be good for people who don't feel good.

dragoness129 11-21-2016 08:22 PM

Hmm, I like rice and green tea, but separately. Not sure how it would be together.

Potironette 11-21-2016 08:23 PM

I do have green tea! I was drinking lots of warm cupfuls of it before ^^
Pouring green tea into rice has been something I've wanted to do for a while, actually :o

Well, now you have an excuse. :)

Potironette 11-21-2016 08:28 PM

That I do!
-Is boiling water-

dragoness129 11-21-2016 08:28 PM

I made some spiced tea the other day. It tastes kinda familiar, but I don't remember having it before yesterday.

Coda 11-21-2016 09:47 PM

I have some rice stew mix that's basically green tea powder with some extra seasoning mixed into it. It's good.

dragoness129 11-21-2016 10:16 PM

Ah. Sounds kinda good. Now I do want to try it.

Okay, now I'm curious as to where one can purchase that.

Coda 11-22-2016 01:22 AM

I bought it at a Japanese supermarket in Little Tokyo, but you can order it cheap online: https://www.amazon.com/Nagatanien-SA...ywords=chazuke

lovelacedroses 11-22-2016 03:23 AM

-hands over pumpkin pie to the face- Heeheehee. Couldn't resist!

Tohopekaliga 11-22-2016 10:38 AM

Green tea flavor on rice. Hmm... may have to try that some time.

THROWS A GIANT CHERRY PIE AT EVERYBODY!*

Tohopekaliga 11-22-2016 11:11 AM

:0 Cherry pie! Yum.

Lawtan 11-22-2016 11:30 AM

While the spirit doesn't realize they are covered in cherry pie, a baby dragon locks cherries off of its paws.

Shadami 11-22-2016 12:07 PM

Are cherry pies any good?

Tohopekaliga 11-22-2016 12:57 PM

I've known people who dont' like them at all, butI think they are.

Glitch 11-22-2016 01:46 PM

I can't stand cooked fruit. Every fruit pie is my enemy.

Tohopekaliga 11-22-2016 01:49 PM

See? There's one right there. :P

I like cooked fruit in things. Like pies. On its own? Bleh.

trystan830 11-22-2016 01:51 PM

i like cherry pie. and apple pie. and pi pie. XD

Potironette 11-22-2016 02:05 PM

I like warm apple pie. Warm pies anything.
Once it's cold I won't eat it xD

Glitch 11-22-2016 02:08 PM
