Closed her eyes and began mumbling something under hear breath she felt it alright and was planing to make it show itself, het form began glowing a golden color as she continued each second it would get slightly brighter. when in this state she was very vunrable but it was the best way to help those not so gifted see what was around them

Yuu almost stopped breathing, staring at the now-visible silhouettes of two figures standing in front of the door. Obviously they had been invisible and Toshi's technique was working on revealing the two, but what scared him even more was how these two mysterious figures decided to show up before them and why they decided to conceal themselves. Yuu, after a few seconds of pulling himself together, finally stood up and drew out the blade. He was visibly shaking, but still moved closer and closer to the door.

Continued to chant, a breeze that shouldn't be there now blowing through the room, it was neither gentle nor forceful. It had been the clash of the energy of the two entitys and Toshi's energys.

The blade in Yuu's hand began to glow a dull red "Careful... They aren't so friendly... stand your ground, while Toshi chan is in this state she can not defend herself" the voice was of a male of about forty years of age and his tone showed his experiance as a warrior

one of the spirits would be of a girl she could be no more than sixteen years of age, her long raven hair was knotted and matted by blood. Across her left cheek there was a deep purple bruise, around her eyes would be a peice of dirty cotton preventing her seeing, around her neck would be a rusty iron collar. Even as she knelt by the other feet, it would be easy to hee her simple white kimono was ripped, tattered and torn showing her shins and the top part of her chest, her head would be lowered "Are you scared of us Yuu?" she would speak her voice was calm but almost as if there was a second voice speaking at the same time 'Why am I here? Can I protect her? I am just a disgusting marked like Master Kaito says' she projected his own doubts into him

The words that had come from the sword gave him courage momentarily, but what the sword gave him was eaten away by the girl's words. She already knew that he was afraid, and even more so his heart began to falter and his hope and faith began to crumble when she had sent him the spell of doubt. Yuu took a step back, wondering if what he was feeling was natural or caused by the ones standing before them, but whichever it was it had dealt a heavy blow on him. He clenched his teeth and closed his eyes for a few seconds, mustering up whatever strength he had at the time, then opened his eyes again and spoke with a quivering voice, "Why do you want to target us? What's your purpose?"

The girl didn't stand though a slight smiled in a sinister manner seeing his fear "Fear is a killer" speaking her voice was as cold as a winter.

Behind herthere would be a man standing 5'6" his hair tied back neatly with a peice of white silk. unlike the girl on the floor, he looked in his mid twenties, wore a black male kimono and hakama, on his right side he wore a katana and wakazashi, of a twilight purple color, from his hanf to the girl's coller it starts out as a golden chain but ends up being maid from heavy iron.

Ignoring Yuu for the moment he moved towards Toshi, the girl moving with him crawling across the floor. he began to coil around her sort of like a python ready to strike it's pray "Keep him occupied Lunia" he said in a deep raspy voice "you might have a friend by the end of the night" his voice showed joy at tainting such a pure being.

Luniaan bowed, before her head moved to look at yuu once more 'Am I reallt good enough? What if Master Kaito seen me? I... I'd be... I'd be punished' once again she'd use his own doubts against him 'What of Toshi? Can I really protect her from the abuse she suffers... It's my fault, if I hadn't... if she hadn't... Would it be better if I left?' her words ringing in his mind

The sword in Yuu's hand began to glow a brighter red "ARE YOU SO STUPID BOY?! REMEMBER YOUR PROMISE" it was the same males voice but it was unsure how likly he was to be heared by the the young tengu holding the blade

Yuu stuttered and growled, upset at how confused he was with what his heart was trying to tell him. Though the spirit talking from the sword was right, he needed to protect Toshi with whatever he had regardless of what emotions he was feeling. Yuu was now more aggravated by the two rather than being filled with fear and doubt. His tengu form suddenly replaced his human one, adorned with various patterns in purple and red on top of his normal black colored fabrics.

When he was about to step forward, he saw a flash of an image of a distressed tengu who was fleeing and at the same time he felt delighted from the thought of sinking his sword into it. Yuu only thought he was imagining things from the viewpoint of another tengu, which he didn't know why, but the emotion lingered and he started to desire taking the two out with his blade out of instinct rather than just trying to protect Toshi. He ignored the girl and leapt over her to get to where the man and Toshi were, swinging the blade downwards between Toshi and his enemy.

The man gracefully evaded the attack as though he had predicted it to come. Although he had wanted Lunia to keep him back while he did his work on Toshi, it was certainly one of the possibilities. A wicked smile curled across his face as he regained composure as he was confident that the tengu can be handled, "You're only warping yourself by trying, tengu. -Lunia, try again. And the sword.." Certainly it was the sword that would get in the way as well, as it aided Yuu in his decisions.

Toshi remained in her trance, her hands coming up and glasping light, in front of her, she could feel the happenings around her but knew if she stopped then he wouldn't be able to see 'please... please don't attack in anger, not with the Daisho' she thought to herself

Lunia smiled in an evil way, though her eyes where covered she could see, she could see what he was in fact feeling 'What if my mother was a slave? I'm just as good as Kaito... No I'm better than him, I want to show him what he put me through...' she wanted to play on his disires, she had been there, they both had through all the worst times in his life, slowly building from his anguish, fear and pain 'She'll help me get my vengence... she'll help me make him pay' her words seeped into his mind like a sweet yet deadly poison, all though she was wondering what her counter part had in store

What was playing in his head had a point, that Toshi 'could' help him take revenge on Kaito, but that would mean protecting Toshi. He'd still end up taking the two out as he had wanted, stepping forward and thrusting the sword forward at the girl, but the time he spent thinking about Kaito and Toshi gave the man a chance to make his move. His fingers had slipped through and grabbed a hold of the hilt, preventing it from going forward anymore and also causing Yuu's fingers to slip off of it as his momentum took him past Lunia's side. One of the things to break a tengu's pride is to take or break his sword, which had just happened. Even Yuu had some level of pride in possessing a sword.

He swiveled around in anger to face the man and then completely ignoring Lunia even though she was right there by his side. The man, with one strong swoop, thrust the sword straight into the floor, leaving the hilt just above the boarding. He chuckled as he grabbed Toshi and heaved her over his shoulders, "Tengu, your sword is more important than this dead one, is it not? Lunia, keep him at bay. I don't want him following us as we leave."

Continued to feel what was happening, feeling the sword changing owners she rose and stopped chanting her blood ruby eyes took a more demonic tint to them as a mask appeared on her face, they turned towards the man she looked to the man, her beautiful sky blue kimono now changed pure white to her right hand side appeared a ninja-to also in a white, thought it was extreamly detailed with red and black pheonix's with a gem resembling the color of it's counter part, from her back sprouted to pure white wings.

With a single movement she was behind the man with the blade at his neck, with her free hand she moved her hand slightly releasing the blade from the wood below "Never touch a blade that was never given to you!" her voice was brash as she moved the blade along the man's neck.

watching him fall to the floor she moved to Yuu, her eyes moving to Lunia who glowed just a little to watch the man rise once more "We aren't that easy to get rid of" her voice almost airy as she spoke, Toshi noticed the smirk on the man's face as he petted Lunia's head almost as if she was his pet

Yuu had been paying more attention to the fact that his sword was given the royal slam. He was severely pissed off and tried to pull the sword out as quickly as possible so he could eradicate the two invaders. It took Yuu an ample amount of effort to draw the sword out of the ground as it had been shoved into the hardened foundation below. Then he twisted himself around, ready to dash after the two but instead found himself almost towered by the white figure. The shock of seeing another tengu hit him so hard that he stumbled to the ground, regained part of his senses, and changed back to his human state immediately. He was about to apologize to the other tengu for breaking one of the rules, but then he realized that the tengu was not of normal coloration, which meant that she was probably one of the marked. But Yuu thought on it for a few more seconds and then put it together, now knowing that the tengu before him was actually Toshi. And now he was worried about Toshi, since he believed that it was Toshi's first time ever being a tengu before. He didn't know how much of a shock it would be for her, but now the secret was out and Toshi could be in a very dangerous position.

Toshi looked down to Yuu her eye turning blue for a second as she smiled under her mask "Please do not act in such a manner, we are the same Yuu" her voice didn't sound like Toshi, it almost sounded like there was a second voice as she spoke, she placed her hand out to help him to his feet "I will collapse after this... and will not remember a thing do not worry, I am not meant to know this at this moment in history" she looked to Lunia her eyes turning pitch black.

Soon afterwards lunia screamed out in pain, Toshi placed her blade away "Yes killing you might be hard but trapping you is another matter" her voice was cold it was almost as if Toshi had went to sleep and another was standing here instead 'What if he doesn't love me? What if he is doing this just to use me? He doesn't do this to protect me, he just wants to use my abilities' Toshi was using the same trick that had been used on Yuu

Of course Yuu was alarmed. He was sensing a completely different aura off of Toshi and hoped it wouldn't go to her head too much, otherwise it would be more than just the two standing before them who would be in trouble. Yuu now knew that his attacks would be meaningless, after listening to what they were saying. And now with Toshi disrupted from the spell, he could no longer see the foe. At least he had faith that Toshi had the right abilities to handle the situation on her own, although he was nervous about what the tengu Toshi would conjure up to deal with the two.

her hand came up to her hear "you have been bound this realm for far to long, you are looking for vengence..." she began her hand came forward quickly a blade forming in her hand, she could hear the screaming of Lunia but she it didn't distrupt what she was doing.

bringing her hand down in a single swift strike she severed the chain between Lunia and the man. in that second Lunia cryed out in agony holding hrt head tears of blood came rolling down from under the fabric around her eyes. Moving slowly to the girl she knelt down and caressed her face lightly "Your torment has ended it is time to go and be happy, where you gifts are trully appreciated" her voice was soft almost mother like, with those words Lunia faded, standing once more her eyes fell on the man

Yuu could only watch and listen to what Toshi was doing, and assumed that she was merciful enough to try to save the girl, which was completely different from what he had expected. Yuu had imagined that Toshi would put the two through an agonizing torture of some sort, but it seemed that Toshi's heart was still intact. While he was surprised, he was also relieved by it.

The man grinned despite losing his comrade, not even giving so much as a single drop of care since he still had his eyes set on a new toy that was standing in front of him. He stepped forward with one hand on his blade, ready to draw it out when he needed, and the other was held out to her, "Toshi, why don't you be a good girl and cooperate. You will enjoy it so much more if you do."

Quirked an eyebrow under her mask "Do I really look that gullabe to you?" of course it was more a statement than a question "you captured the girls spirit..." she took one step forward "You tortured her" she took another step towards him "you used her" she took another step forward her eyes now peircing into him "and even now you show no sign of repenting" her voice was harsh as a blizzard

The blade she had in her hand turned to crystal with a single swipe downwards th blade went through the spirit drawing him in. With a deep breath she fell to her knees hugging into herself slightly shaking

Yuu quickly rushed to Toshi's side with his blade ready since he wasn't sure that the other spirit was completely dealt with. He put himself between Toshi and the direction of the attack she made earlier just in case there would be an attack from the enemy. Yuu touched Toshi's shoulder lightly, "Are you alright?"

Nodded "I'll be fi..." with that she changed back to her normal self. "I guess you delt with them... I knew you could but now for a weird reason I feel hungry" she giggled, but she also looked paler

'She will feel light headed and likely confused' ken'ichi's voice said into his mind 'you might have to take cart when traveling for a week or so' his words where filled with worry as this had only happened once before and it didn't end to well for her

A week or so... whatever, it didn't sound good to Yuu, especially when he couldn't read the things that would be useful during that time and especially when he didn't know any spells to use against whoever would want to approach them again. Of course he was tempted to tell Toshi that it was her who had saved the day, but at the same time he was considering the condition Toshi was in. He feigned a calm smile and gestured her back to the table while he slipped the sword back into its sheath, "You should eat the rest of the food. You'll need it."

Moved slowly to the table and waited for him to sit and take the first bite "there is enough for us both" she smiled gently looking outside to the stars "You are a brave person Yuu... I'm glad I have a friend like you" picking up the teapot she poured them both a drink "which direction will we be traveling in?" she wanted to know what he was thinking

Yuu nearly coughed, thinking that Toshi was not quite right in the head yet. He knew he was still trying to develop a spine, and then he was also aware that in his tengu form that he was just more aggressive due to instincts at least. He sat down and noticed again that Toshi wasn't making a move towards her food as what had happened earlier, and took a quick bite of what was on his plate and assumed that Toshi would follow. Despite what was running through his head at the moment, he at least tried to set the mood away from the earlier happenings, "Definitely in the same direction we've been traveling in. We'll see lots of good stuff."

started to move as she seen Yuu almost cough, in her mind he had done everything as she couldn't remember what had happened, noticing Yuu begining to eat she picked up her own chopsticks and began to eat quietly, thogh smiled as he spoke "north east it is then" her voice was happy though she placed the tip of one of her chopsticks to her bottom lip "I could teach you magic... on top of your reading and writting lessons" her voice showed it was a suggestion, she disn't want to over load him after all

"Really? That would be..." Yuu trailed off, almost getting caught up in the excitement over the opportunity. However, he remembered that Toshi would probably be in a bad condition over the week, and then he shook his head, "It would be fantastic, but I think we can wait on that. Let's just work on the reading stuff for now."

But now thinking back, he wondered if it was possible that somehow that flash of the random scene he saw earlier was something similar to Toshi's case. From what he understood, when Toshi was in her tengu form, it sounded as if she was aware of things that have yet to pass in their time. He shuddered a little, scared to think that the vision was perhaps something that he would be doing in the future. He groaned and ate more food with a slight worried expression on his face as his eyes drifted to one of the walls in the room, "Learning to read for now is fine.. After we eat I think you might need to rest up. We've had a rough day, right?"

"i'll teach as soon as I'm well again" her voice was happy that he accepted the offer but even she knew that she wasn't at full strength, tilting her head she seen the worried look on his face "magic is like reading and writting... takes a bit of getting use to but is easy when you get the hang of it" she thought it was the magic he was worried about "I agree we have a big day ahead of us" her voice was tired but still happy

'What are you worried about young one?' the words seeped into Yuu's mind it was a kindly voice of a old man 'Do not worry my dear great grand child can not hear what is said between us as it is through the bond you and this sword have that we are speaking'

He was glad that Toshi at least knew she wasn't well, which would make it easier to convince her to rest if he needed to do it. He ate some more, thinking about how to handle this. He was a bit concerned Toshi would collapse if they walked around during the week, "Maybe we should stay here for a few days, until you get better. And we can go explore this place together." At least with that, he would be close to a decent shelter in case something bad happened to Toshi.

Yuu turned his attention to the sword, his eyes moving to his plate to take in the image of the food but his mind was set on the voice. He sighed, "I think transforming into a tengu may be a bad thing. When I did it for Toshi the first time, I almost blanked out..and I know it wasn't only a form change..it affected something in my mind too. And then this recent one..I saw something and I don't know where it came from or what it meant. An image or memory.."

"Ai come to this town daily, we'd be walking on egg shells if we stayed" her voice trembled slightly at the thought of what would happen to them both if they where caught "i'll be okay to travel... I promise to ask for a break if i feel bad" she was extremely quiet so went back to eatting

the elderly voice chuckled lightly 'It's part of who you both are, to denie it would be to denie part of yourselves and if that happens you will be out of balance with yourselves' his voise showed the wisdom of his years 'Like anything it will take you time to get use to, you Tengu self is more animalistic, thus more agressive and more territorial... there is nothing wrong with this" he continued, though sighed a little ' the image is your demon... one day you will have to face it, I just hope it will not be alone' withe that the sword fell silent until it was needed once more

Now that was something he wasn't expecting to hear. He wouldn't want neither Ai nor Kaito finding out their exact location. But so long as the two weren't planning on making a journey at night, they should be ok for now, "Yes, please do tell me when you start feeling bad."

Though the whole talk about balance seemed ok, since he knew that he used to be scared and cautious of everything, and what he saw was only the exact opposite. Then the talk about demons got him worried again. He hoped that he would never go into his tengu form during the week since he didn't think Toshi would be in any type of condition to help him if something ever went wrong.

Nodded as she finished her food "It's highly irregular but I am going to go sleep... please forgive the fact I don't wait for you to rest first" her voice showed she was tired, bowing she waited for it to be returned before standing.

once on her feet however she fell back down "Why am I so unsteady?" her voice was low but she was unsure if it was heard by Yuu. Crawling to a wall slowly she used it to help her to her feet and moved out the room without another sound

It had been a few days since Toshi went to her room and still hadn't woken up, even the spirits within the sword where unsure of why this exactly was. 'she should have woken up by now' a rash voice said 'She's just being a lazy gi...' another one began 'you do not wish to finish that sentance father... she isn't like us.' it wa ken'ichi's voice, though calm it was clearly angry

Stiring Toshi opened her eyes slowly allowing them to get use to the light "Yuu?" her voice was faint as she tried to sit up only to hear her stomach grumble, a blush coming to her cheeks as she giggled nervously "Oops... guess I must be hungry"

Yuu circled above the rooftops, scanning the grounds for more threats as well as things he could pick up. He found that some of the stores left their doors open and he would go ahead and steal whatever he could carry. Mostly it was food, but also small trinkets and what not that he would bring back and leave by Toshi's side, creating a small mound of sparkly goodness ((x'D)). But that wasn't the only mischievous thing he was doing..over the past few days he had gotten bolder and started stealing things right out of people's hands while he was in crow form. The people of course weren't used to birds flying up to them and taking away their possessions.

Then he spotted his target, and dove down and snatched it out of the hands of a young girl. It was a soft and fresh bun, Yuu wanted to eat it but he knew that he had to fly to a safe place to chow down. And that's when he flew back, taking a few minutes to fly through the open window and into Toshi's room, walking back to the pile of pillows he had made for himself to rest on while he watched over Toshi. Then he noticed Toshi was up and instantly dropped his prize, "Toshi! You're awake!" He flew over to her and landed on her shoulder, "Are you feeling better?"

Looked at the small mound of trinkrts on the bed and blinked "where did this cme from?" her voice showed she was confused she was still rather disorientated and didn't understand how long she had been asleep for "yes I feel better but a little light headed" she be gan to move to get out of bed "I need a bath and the food I think" though when she tried to stand she fell back onto the bed "wow dizzy" she giggled trying to mask how incompitant she trully felt

Yuu flew to the bread, and flew back to Toshi, then tried to stuff the bread into Toshi's mouth. ((lolol x'D One-liner of awesomeness x'D))

watched as Yuu flew off to the tabe only to return a few seonds later to shove some bread in her mouth. brining up her sleeve she brought out thr bread and ate it keeping the sleeve of her kimono up as she did so, once finished she brought down the sleeve and looked to Yuu "was that really needed" her voice showed som amusement but she then realized her question hadn't been answered "where did these trinkets come from?" her voice showed she was slightly conerned but she didn't believe Yuu would have stolen

"I found them," which was true, but he didn't find it necessary to say the entire process of obtaining them. Although a normal person would have figured that it was difficult to get such sparkly goodness itemz just by 'finding' them. He changed back to his human form and smiled, "They're gifts for you."

Started to look through the trinkets, some of them being simple beads while others where extreamly expensive jewllary. her eye's darted to Yuu "where exactly did you find this?" she knew most of it wouldn't have been found laying around on the ground. using the wall to stand this tim she managed to stand up even on her wobbily legs "if this is stolen we must return it" her eyes showed she was greatful for his thoughtfulness but still the way he had aquiered them was still wrong in her mind

she sat down "You done what was in your nature" a sigh came from her lips she didn't know what to do as they where a gift it was still wrong for her to refuse them but it was just as wrong to keep them "do tengu do this for other tengu?" her voice showed curiosity

her eye opened wide however as she heard two familuire voices in the next room, she really didn't want to breath at this point "Ai and Kaito" she whispered to Yuu, no matter what they had to stay put for the moment or risk being discovered

For a brief moment, he was scared to answer Toshi's questions, seeing as how at least one of them would probably be in trouble if they tried to give back the items. Then, Toshi spoke of Ai and Kaito. He heard a bit of a voice and then that made him sit straight up. Yuu knew if they tried to run now, they could get caught, but the same thing could happen if they stayed. He was wondering if Toshi could take a crow form and fly away with him, but then again he didn't know if that had any detrimental affects on her, "Do you think that they're aware that we're here?"

Had no idea what he was thinking about but listened to him as he spoke "Umm... it depend on how tuned they are to their surroundings and as they would believe we would likely have gotten lost... the best bet is they know we are in this city somewhere" her voice trembled a little as she whispered her reply "How sharp are Kaito's sences?" her voice showing curiosity upon this matter

"He can only use them if he makes it... I think we'll need to leave as quickly as possible. If he starts it here while we're still around, I don't think we'll have enough time to escape," he could probably fly and carry Toshi in his tengu form, but he was scared about what would happen when he lost control, then Toshi would still be in danger. Yuu was tempted to ask Toshi about the crow form, but he held back. He looked around and stared at the open window, "Can we go out that way?"

"that's what I was afraid of..." she bit her bottom lip, she knew she was in no possition to travel at the moment "I can't travel, I can barely stand up Yuu" her voice sounded somewhat distressed, she didn't want to be caught

Moving onto the floor she closed her eyes, she knew she shouldn't attempt this but right now she had no choice "Father sky hear me, we aren't where we should be..." she paused taking a deep breath between words, a sky blue aura forming around her "Take us to where we can't be found, embrace us in your loving shroud" with that the glow lessened.

opening her eyes she saw they where both buy a lake with the belongings along side them, toshi allowed herself to fall back as she felt the gentle breeze on her skin "yes I know i;m foolish, but what other choice did I have" her eyes looking to the sky as she spoke

"we are out of harms way unfortunatly, I would have left my energy in there that even if you weren't looking for it you'd be able to sence we where there" her voice faint as she closed her eyes once more "But they will not be able to track us... I'm sure of that"
