Exactly, which is why, pretty much anywhere you look, there's a lot more female items than male.

Not to mention: manly = much more difficult to think of mostly. Pants, shirts shoes. Weapons. That... is primarily all you can do for "manliness" (not all of course but mostly) and there's only so much you can do with that before it gets boring/repetitive.

Also... 2 out of 3 of the items are pretty manly as is, so what if the ADI isn't? Eh, but... that's just me.

And in my opinion I don't think this one is too "girly". It's sleep wear. It is CUTE, but not GIRLY. not... to me at least.

Coda 06-06-2011 12:01 PM

Y'know, I'm a guy too, Illu, and I'll agree with Az here. Monthlies in general tend to be hard to use when they don't match your theme, but there's nothing about Pillow Talk except for one of the three color schemes that would preclude its use on a masculine avatar if the theme is compatible. It's not like it's a frilly dress or a bunch of bows and ribbons; those would be hard to put on a masculine avatar no matter what your theme is, and your complaint would have some foundation.

Illusion 06-06-2011 01:43 PM

I didn't say all monthlies just ADI's
And where is this conversation coming from? First I'm just talking about how the aurum monthlies have more feminine poses next it's all items in general?
Plus I wasn't really complaining at all, I was just stating what seemed obvious to me :|

Coda 06-06-2011 02:55 PM

When did I say *I* was talking about anything but the ADIs? My only comment even close to saying otherwise was to imply that ADIs shared the same difficulty in use as any other monthly items.

Hermes 06-06-2011 05:19 PM

Yer wearin a looooot of pink for someone saying that Pillow Talk isn't manly enough.

Or are you saying pillow talk itself isn't manly, only for girls? Oooooh man, the ladies are gonna be maaaaad!

But, seriously, It really is hard to get items done for men because...well....we dress pretty simply. Armor/Weapons/Guns/Shields/Pants/Shirts

Anything else is absolutely gender neutral (I don't include normal pants/shirts because those DO tend to get looked at as more masculine), or feminine.

In fact, things like leggings, tails, fur, neko items in general, cute stuff, pink/purple/yellow stuff, dresses, skirts, many kinds of shoe, all accessories, any long hair....etc.....is considered more towards the feminine side.

If you want manly, I know this store called Work World. It's all manly clothes. (I actually DO buy my pants there. Great quality, and only place that sells 29 in mens >w< )

Illusion 06-06-2011 06:26 PM

Hermes if that's truly what Trisphee thinks for guys maybe you guys can come together and branch out item ideas that are suitable for guys :\ And leave those ideas in storage so everyone has a reference for items.
And I never mentioned pillow talk but I do see a few neutral poses from it but anything else is more suited for female avies :\

And Coda I don't want to start bickering or anything but why is it that when you try explaining something to me or put out your opinion it seems like you have a negative attitude in your wording?

Azrael 06-06-2011 06:30 PM

I'm sorry to sound rude here, but if you want manly items "out of the ordinary" or whatever, why don't you go suggest them. I haven't exactly seen many suggestions from you in there. Artists cannot read minds. If you want something, you have to say it or no one's going to know.

Fiyero 06-06-2011 09:16 PM

in similar news. Im a guy and my avatar is a female. Maybe change your avatar to female, if you think the items are too feminine, and make a girly avatar with some of those items?

Ashy 06-06-2011 09:18 PM

you can make girly avatars on a male base :P

I manage to make me avatars look all manry and im a chick >.>

Lucid: 06-06-2011 10:35 PM

it's true. Ashy pulls off the manry stuff quite well.

And I don't think Coda has a negative attitude, he just has a very professional manner of speech.

Coda 06-06-2011 11:33 PM

*nods to Lucid* Thanks for covering me on that.

I'm an engineer. I don't beat around the bush; if I have a point to make, I just make it. I'm not being negative. That's just how hacker-types talk.

Illusion 06-07-2011 03:41 PM

Hacker types? XD
Weird category to put your speech in but alright.

@ Azrael
Normally I would, but every time I check the first few pages of the thread it doesn't look like anything is updated. So its hard to post suggestions when you get lost in it or even understand if it was updated. It needs to be updated more often, and it would be nice to have a admin post "The list has been updated." Because I no joke have a list in my school binder filled up to around 60/70 things I'd love on trisphee, but I'm not sure if any of the stuff is what matches whats already on the list in the thread.

Coda 06-07-2011 04:05 PM

Don't let the more recent definition of "hacker" (as in, one who commits computer crimes) distract you from the original meaning -- a great number of non-security-oriented hackers prefer using the term "cracker" for that definition and reserve "hacker" for people like me who are all about coming up with inventive solutions to interesting problems.

Read this for some insight into how the hacker's mind works.

Illusion 06-07-2011 04:23 PM

....
Wow.. There are a lot of things that relate to me on that site.
So >.> you have poor communication skills is that it?

Coda 06-07-2011 04:48 PM

Not exactly. I actually have pretty good communication skills -- just not much patience for making it politically correct. But at the end you'll know exactly what it is I want you to know.

Illusion 06-07-2011 05:11 PM

Oh I see, you just want to type and run kinda?

Coda 06-07-2011 05:33 PM

That's... one way to put it, I suppose. I CAN have tact, but I have to WANT to have tact, at which point it becomes an optimization constraint on my revision process. XD

Illusion 06-07-2011 05:39 PM

xD
Processors can be tricky to deal with unless you update firmware or clean them out a bit.

Coda 06-07-2011 05:40 PM

You're not allowed to see my firmware. I don't swing that way.

Lucid: 06-07-2011 05:42 PM

Coda = Kaimid

Illusion 06-07-2011 05:43 PM

I never asked to see it!
You did interest me to tweak it though.

I am, actually. I'm not world-class but I've won my share of competitions. My signature song is MAX300 double heavy, although my record is clearing MAX300, MaxX Unlimited, and Legend of Max, all on single heavy, back-to-back-to-back, as the finals round of a tournament, playing LoM by sight because I'd never played it before.

Lucid: 06-07-2011 10:18 PM

:O Coda is super intense.

I never really thought I'd say this regarding this topic but
wow
that's hot >u>

Coda 06-10-2011 10:58 AM

^^;

I actually felt that win for a couple weeks because I put my weight on the bar; my own weight there drove my shoulder blades into my back muscles and I got a bruise that was sore for a long time.

Batty 06-10-2011 12:43 PM

Thats happened to me before. xDD;

I used to only be able to play in the arcade, because the home mats suck x-core. ><;

Coda 06-10-2011 01:41 PM

Actually that win was ON home mats using a desk as a backbar.

It really helps to affix the mats to something to keep them from wrinkling or folding in play. My personal mats are sandwiched between a board and a sheet of clear vinyl. The mats at the tournament were simply taped to a tile floor.

Espy 06-10-2011 02:22 PM

Che. I can barely make it through some standard songs....Although, Sandstorm on standard is about the most awesome thing ever for me.
