He shrugged a little at her words. "it's your choice, your the one that seems nervous here not me." He smirked a little before he started to walk off from her. "I get your point though, though personally you can keep the charm.. your the one that is more likely to get in trouble here not i." With that he started walking off, he had planned to go make due for himself tonight. Though from the way she had been acting he had to admit he was a little worried about her, but she'd have to make due on her own. Not that he didn't think she could but there had to be a reason why she was being finicky.

Maniacal_Moon 11-06-2011 11:12 AM

A tall man came through the door in front of Dalea, looking menacing. He looked down at her, anger in his eyes. "Come in." Dalea seemed to be pulled in against her will from some unseen force. He'd appeared just as Var started walking away. "I'll see you later, Var." She said hopefully.

Rosekitten 11-06-2011 11:17 AM

He waved a hand lazily back towards her hardly paying attention, or at the least it seemed like he was hardly paying attention. He was more so then he was letting on. Though as he said before it wasn't his business or concern, she'd have to make due on her own. Sure he could get into a fight to try to protect her but it'd hardly do any good with his current energy level.

With that being over with for the most part he went about to seek a tavern, sure he had little to noting on his but he could figure some means of starting a game that would get him the little bit of funds he needed for the night. But first issue was finding a place..

Maniacal_Moon 11-06-2011 02:33 PM

After she entered the home of her long time friend, she smiled nervously. "Hey there, buddy. How's life been treatin ya?" She began to leak power into her personal shields, but he sensed it and she took a step back before he swung at her. It caught her square in the face and she was sent across the floor and into the bookshelf there. She hit the floor like a ton of bricks and her glamour vanished. Her wings looked a little weak as they fluttered helplessly. She opened her eyes to look up at the man and smiled weakly. "You done yet?" The man grinned unhumanly. "I'm just getting started."

Rosekitten 11-06-2011 03:22 PM

Sure he felt like something was wrong, but it was a torn thought. He wanted to make sure she was ok or rather going to be ok .. but at the same time it wasn't his concern and she seemed to say it was better for him to not be around thus he didn't want to make whatever matters worse. After a bit of walking he tossed his worried thoughts aside he needed to get some funds and quickly before any bars on being out at night were put into place by the guard. The closest tavern was going to have to do at this point as he walked in and seemed to take a note of the set up and the beings inside. He'd take a few moments before he went to work his luck. He needed to ensure he didn't lose, but as he said before humans were easy to read, though it was getting a wizard or a non human he was trying to avoid.

Maniacal_Moon 11-06-2011 03:28 PM

When Dalea slowly stood, a little wobbly, she stood straight and proud. The man chuckled darkly. "Come at me. Its no fun if you just let me hit you." Dalea's wings fluttered a little excitedly and they had a knock out, drag out fight. After about an hour, Dalea looked the worse for wear, looking barely able to stand. There was broken furniture and scattered belongings all over the place. The taller man was swaying slightly on his feet, blood coming from his face. Though he looked better off than Dalea, and his blood was a greenish purple color. She'd had a cut on her head and blood poured down over her face.

Rosekitten 11-06-2011 06:27 PM

He had gone about his business of getting into a card game with wagers, sure it sounded odd to say he was betting the clothing on his back but most humans didn't care so long as there were stakes at hand. He went about this game for at least thirty or so minutes before dropping from it, he had made enough and a little extra to cover what he needed here. Though it wasn't to end that easily. Humans were the type that when drunk disliked losing... a small bar fight did end up breaking out, though he had a unfair advantage in this. He wasn't human despite his size and body he could very well hold his own, though he didn't look like a mere pushover either. Once the squabble was settled he took his words with the bar keep that was standing in aw at what had happened in a matter of a few seconds, leaving him whatever extras he had with him before explaining the situation of needing a room. Though at the fact there wasn't more damage done the man gladly offered a room, though he did ask if he could help with a few repairs to the tables and chairs that had gotten banged up n this fight, let alone the broken glass. He agreed to help after he got a chance to wash up, he wanted to take care of any wounds.. he couldn't afford for humans to see any. Not when his blood was a mix of being sap like in density and the the color of human blood with a hint of a lighter red. Though it only took these qualities when it hit the air..

Maniacal_Moon 11-06-2011 07:29 PM

Dalea was soon lying on the couch, wrapped in bandages. She had a grimace on her face as the man wouldn't let her use her magic to heal. The man sat in a chair across the room, a steak held over his left eye. He grinned, seeing her in pain. She'd repayed her debt and now would have a few scars from it. Considering that she would hea naturally, not with help from her magic.

Rosekitten 11-07-2011 04:38 PM

Once he had paid whatever debt he thought he owed to the tavern owner he finally retreated to the room he had already paid for. To admit it, this was a bit of a change for him to bite his tongue and get along with humans let alone admitting he was part at fault for the bawl no matter how short lived it was. Either way he just wanted some rest just a few hours and he could leave.. well after the gates were reopened anyway. Though he had the odd thought of how that fairy was doing, she seemed worried beyond belief when he left her. Though she made her own choice so what did he care.

Maniacal_Moon 11-07-2011 06:45 PM

Dalea had been out for hours, before her eyes slowly fluttered halfway open. He grinned at her. "Well, how're you feeling Dalea?" She groaned as she tried to move. "Like a dragon tried to tear off my head." He chuckled deeply. "I am sorry about that. But you did your own bit of damage yourself." He removed the steak from his face and there was a jagged scar down the side of his face.

Rosekitten 11-07-2011 08:33 PM

Sleep came easily with the odd jobs he had done downstairs, let alone the walking over the past few days. Though it was just as easily interrupted... He sat straight up suddenly with a bit of heavy breathing before he placed his hand over his face. He laughed a little weakly before removing his hand from his face and looking at it. A slight hint of blood was on his palm and he knew why. This had nothing to do with the fight... but from the images he had just seen he knew what it was about. This put a strain on the time they had left for this little journey. But for now he had to wait out a few more hours at the least till morning, also keep this little fact from Dalea... though that should be easy.

Maniacal_Moon 11-07-2011 10:36 PM

Dalea soon gathered enough strength to move around slowly. Everything hurt, but fairies healed pretty fast even without their powers. She was healed in the matter of hours. The scars she had just aquired could be covered up mostly. She soon went back to sleep though and was awakened by large man standing over her. "I know that your kind hates scars and blemishes of any kind. That is why I have shamed you in making you keep them." Dalea nodded slowly. "I know." She then rose and hugged him suddenly. "I love you, you big lug." He blinked, than hugged her back awkwardly. "I love you too." Dalea soon left with a small dufflebag that she had many small and a few large objects that would help them in the mountains. She was glad now that she visited her old mystical friend. She soon closed her eyes and stretched out her senses to find Var.

Rosekitten 11-08-2011 07:55 AM

He gave up on rest after a short while, his mind plaguing his with images. All of them warning him that time was short and even finishing this journey would probably mean nothing in the end. Either way he left the room behind and thanked the tavern owner once more before leaving. He just wanted some air as he waited for Dalea to turn up, probably whenever she was done with her friend. His head was spinning from the thoughts, but he had to make sure she didn't notice his sudden distress, that'd lead to trouble. Rather that the way he thought of it.

After the time he took a few steps from the tavern he noticed Dalea was walking down the street from here. Meeting her halfway he laughed weakly "was about to go see if you were still around or not" He shrugged a little, sure he wasn't really but it was better then the awkward silence and it'd keep her off of questioning him for the time being.

Maniacal_Moon 11-08-2011 11:37 AM

Dalea had been thinking of their up coming potential trials they would go through as she neared Var. When he spoke to her, she jumped slightly. She looked up at him, then smiled a little. "I'm still here. We should leave this place. I don't want to take any more risks here." Her voice didn't sound as lively as it had been when he left her. Her hair was put back in such a way as to cover her forehead and the side of her neck. She also had cool weather clothes on the covered most of her skin.

Rosekitten 11-08-2011 11:45 AM

"heh... i agree with that" he said towards her statement of leaving, he hardly wanted to stay here any longer then he had to. "So I take it you enjoyed yourself then?" He noticed the look she had given him and he held his hands up a little "im joking, im sure you enjoyed it as much as I did on my end..." He'd probably break down and tell her later what visions he had this past night, but for now she didn't need to know.

Maniacal_Moon 11-08-2011 12:09 PM

Dalea had given him a gaurded and defensive look at his stupid question. Her bones had healed enough so that she wasn't walking funny or it didn't make her be in pain to walk. She did smile a little to herself. That man could've even ripped off her wings and he'd have been entitled to do so. Dalea would've killed herself, but she would've accept his judgement.

Rosekitten 11-08-2011 12:45 PM

Sure he didn't know what she had gone through but he had dealt with his own hell to be fair, though not on the extent that she had. but with his last vision he knew that payment for leaving the grove was soon to come... it'd be a matter of time now. He was waiting for the final strike knowing he'd feel it as if he were standing right there. Maybe he could get to the capital first.. at the least to clear his name before it happened, though he'd never make the trip back. With how his luck was he'd be lucky to make the trip there.

Maniacal_Moon 11-08-2011 01:31 PM

After awhile the silence got extremely awkward, so she slowly took his hand in hers and just walked like that. It was more to comfort her than keep up appearences. She figured there was something wrong with him so she offered comfort in the touch as well.

Rosekitten 11-09-2011 09:29 AM

He never noticed her taking his hand, he was too busy with his thoughts. Even though he was walking and conscious he still wouldn't have been able to tell you anything that was going on at the present time. She had nearly thrown a fit when she found out the elders would probably kill him, how would she take this information then? Heck even if they started back now they might not make it in time to change anything. Though after a while he did fall back to reality and tried to strike a conversation taking quick notice of the silence. "So a few days or up to a week in the snow covered mountains.. depends on our luck with weather among other things.. then to the fiery pits of hell it self for about the same amount of time.. " he shrugged a little "what could go wrong."

Maniacal_Moon 11-09-2011 12:05 PM

Dalea had fallen into a strange silence herself. Even after he'd spoke, she said nothing for a moment. She just squeezed his hand a little. "Don't joke about those things...I can sense it inside you." She spoke of his fear and feelings from earlier. She didn't know exactly what those feelings were for though.

Rosekitten 11-09-2011 05:40 PM

Frowning a little he sighed finally. "Well maybe you shouldn't pry into one's feelings.. yo u may find something you don't like." It was a little bit of a harsh comment but he had a point with it. He didn't want her to know nor was he going to explain to her why he was trying to cover it up. She'd find out soon enough if anything happened, till then he was going to take it a day at a time. Fretting over it would solve nothing. "Besides even if I told you there nothing to be done about it now." He shrugged it off like he did a lot of things, he didn't expect her to take his word for it.

Maniacal_Moon 11-09-2011 06:00 PM

Dalea flinched inwardly at his pointed comment. She gently withdrew her hand from his and stuck it into her pocket. She hunched her shoulders slightly as if she were trying to fight off the cold. "If you say so." She said meekly to his comment about there being nothing to do about his troubles. She was tired, mostly just of trying to help him and her fighting her every step of the way. This was very unlike herself.

Rosekitten 11-09-2011 07:34 PM

Shaking his head a little he spoke again. "Look whatever your doing stop it, nothing bads gonna happen. I'm too stubborn to leave now when we're working on being half way to our goal. So stop looking like the end of the world over there k?" Besides if he told her it wouldn't improve her mood anyway, it wasn't like he was trying to fight her tooth and nail. Ok sure at first he was but he had given up a little on that by now. He just thought she had enough troubles to not need another one.

Maniacal_Moon 11-09-2011 08:16 PM

Dalea looked at him then shook her head. "I didn't think you really had a choice...but its good to hear." She knew that his time would become short as they went, the seed of his on her was starting to wane of life. She would have to plant it soon or it would die. She sighed softly to herself and watched the ground in front of her as she walked in silence again.

Rosekitten 11-09-2011 08:41 PM

"Heh.. there is always a choice.. it's more of if your willing to go the distance." Some might see this as a fools quest all i all, but he had his reasons for wanting to try and finish it out, even if he ceased to exists after... he wanted to know that he still had a place among the only people he had known or ever called family in his life. In truth no matter how much he tried to shrug it off he feared his own death. If your of the mortal realm there's tales of going to haven or to the underworld one o the other. For the magical beings there their own form of gods they follow and hope to one day stand beside. But half bloods weren't exactly welcomed on either side, so he had a right to fear what would happen aside from banishment for what he had done.

They passed by a large gate that was heavily guarded before following a waving path that seemed to lead towards a small cavern, from there or rather the other side of this cavern would be the snowy ranges. Also could be called the first test. "Well here's your last chance to turn back now." He shrugged a little hardly sounding like he was serious his words, in truth he wasn't. As much as he hated to admit it he had grown fond of traveling with the fairy.

Maniacal_Moon 11-09-2011 08:56 PM

Dalea thought about what he had said for awhile. Did she really have a choice? Did he? No. They both had no choice but to continue their journey to the dryad central hub. If the place even existed. She shook her head after a moment. "I do wish there was a way I could just live alone in the country side, but the world is wasting away. Even if the humans hadn't started their distruction of the forests, the mystical species of the world would've died off." Her eyes had turned a slight gold color as she spoke, but shook her head and they were blue again. "I will stay with you. Because I know I can help you...and without you, I'd be very lonely."

Rosekitten 11-09-2011 09:17 PM

He tilted his head a little before speaking waiting until she was done. "Your probably right, though I do think the demise would have happened slower.. but what do I know eh.." He shrugged slightly before he started walking again. "Though I think you have poor taste in the company you keep." He waved his hand lazily in the air as his spoke. Really he knew very well he wasn't one for company, let alone he thought he had done a poor job most of this trip thus far with entertaining her, apparently he was wrong.

Though he did think about what she had said, how things would have ended up this way no matter what. Was that true? Was there even a point to this journey, even if the dryad capital still was there and there were beings left.. what purpose would it serve if magic was to be cleared from this planet no matter what happened. Sure it was well known that the world adapted and changed to fit it's needs, sure his kind wasn't needed anymore not with nature finding out it can grow on its own. But that didn't mean he just wanted to vanish, to be forgotten years from now.

Maniacal_Moon 11-09-2011 09:28 PM

Dalea couldn't help but tear up a little. "Its sad isn't it? Knowing that your existence doesn't matter anymore? The world moves on whether or not we like it." She wiped her small tears away. "That is why it was always useless to help anyone but yourself." These were bitter words, especially from the woman who spent her entire being up until now helping every creature she came across.

Rosekitten 11-09-2011 09:38 PM

"Now whos the one who sound like they are giving up?" He laughed slightly before stopping and looking at her. "To damn with the world, sure it changes but we don't have to stand by and just wait till our last breath. Tsk for me that could be tomorrow, a hour from now or a few hundred years from now." He shrugged slightly. "Who fucking knows and i for one am not going t stand about and wait for t, fearing each day will be the last or the time will come to pass where I'm the last of my kind." He smirked a little sure it sounded like he was being cocky, though he never said he could change anything no matter what he did. "years from now humans might be gone as well .. the world could be covered in ice or worse, but even with all of that I don't think you should simply stop helping others... if you still think that way then go back to the fairy capital because your helping me and that would be going against your own words."

Maniacal_Moon 11-09-2011 09:57 PM

Dalea stared at him, then couldn't help but smile a little. "You know, if I didn't know better I'd say you were trying to make me feel better." She did feel better. His words reassured her that she should keep going no matter what happened to the world. She did blush when she noticed his last words. "Well. I have a confession. Coming with you is not only meant to help you."

Rosekitten 11-09-2011 09:59 PM

He quickly waved off her saying he was trying to make her feel better, sure it was part of his aim but he didn't have to admit to it either. "Tsk you wish.. to be honest I was hoping it'd get rid of you." He shrugged and moved to start walking again before he heard her next words. He had to laugh at them knowing his smart ass comment to come. "Good I'd hate to think that your trying to go and become a fairysicle on my behalf."

Maniacal_Moon 11-09-2011 10:15 PM

Dalea looked at her hands now. "Its not really for myself either." She wanted to bring the magic to awaken the dryads from their long slumber. But, she had to find a place they could live away from the humans to be happy first.

Rosekitten 11-09-2011 10:25 PM

"Sounds complicated.. your business not mine." He said rather quickly, sure he could pester her and see if she'd tell him but he didn't honestly care. Plus she had enough to deal with it would seem without him getting on her nerves to badly. He seemed to pause when they got up to the caves mouth. He sighed a little knowing what was on the other side, hell he even could tell it was almost no life living over there. "well ready to freeze for the next few days?" He sounded like he was hardly excited to be here, in truth he wasn't. Though he did know a few tricks if it got too bad. Now if he had the power to do them was another story.

Maniacal_Moon 11-10-2011 12:20 AM

After awhile they came up the entrance to a cave and Dalea looked in to the cave and shivered. "Here." She took her bag off and started pulling thick clothes fro it. "Its all I could carry." She held the very warm ooking clothes out to Var an didn't look like she was going to put up with agruing.

Rosekitten 11-10-2011 01:36 AM

"your not going to let me say no are you..." he sighed a little knowing the answer. he didn't fight with her much more then his first comment, though the clothing would hardly help matters. Even if he had prepared better it wouldn't have made much of a difference. "i just need you to do me one favor.. don't let me fall asleep while we're here no matter what." He sounded a bit worried at what he just said, but it was a true worry. If he managed to sleep here he'd probably never wake up.

Maniacal_Moon 11-10-2011 10:07 AM

Dalea couldn't help but look at him kindly. "I'm just making sure you stay alive. I will make sure you do not fall asleep. Even if I have to light your butt on fire." She winked at him with a grin. She was trying to hieghten his spirits at least a little. She knew it would be hard going for him.

Rosekitten 11-11-2011 08:31 PM

He glared at her with the fire comment. "you do it and see what reward you get... " he hissed with his words a little before he started to walk again to enter the cave that would lead them to the snowy desert they had to cross. "Besides I've managed to stay alive this long on my own.. i doubt a little trek across the lands will do me in." Not that such a comment was going to deter her from following but still.

Maniacal_Moon 11-11-2011 09:45 PM

Dalea watched him leave, but she had giggled softly at his little threat. She could take him and she knew it. She watched him, then turned to look back upon her world. It was going to be so different and she would miss it. She kissed her palm, then waved a little to nobody. She then turned sadly and followed Var.

Rosekitten 11-12-2011 12:08 PM

Even as they walked through the narrow cave he knew very well he was going to struggle with the next part of this journey. Cold weather and most plants did not mix well. Let alone he was getting weaker by the day, whatever was taking control of the forest wasn't leaving... The cave was short enough and there were torches along the wall to ensure travelers didn't get lost. Though on the other side there was nothing... nothing but ice snow and rocks covering miles and miles of landscape. There were two choices, try and brave climbing the mountain to get to the next region or try and walk around, it'd take eh?" He laughed weakly, but it was better then complaining about how bloody cold it was.

Maniacal_Moon 11-13-2011 04:14 PM

The narrowness of the cave walls didn't really bother Dalea. In fact, she felt almost at home with the tight quarters. Living underground was quite strange for fairies in the first place, but liking it was weirder. She could feel the slight temperture change in the air and it gave her goosebumps. She returned to watching Var move through the cave in front of her. Soon, she summoned a small light as it got darker. She wasn't fond of stumbling around in the dark.
