Kaderin Triste 03-29-2018 03:55 AM

Guys! I might finally be finishing a monthly project on time! For like....the second time ever! My turtle literally just needs to have the legs and head sewn onto the body and to have some eyes added.
For humor, maybe I'll glue on googly eyes...

Death by Mirrors 03-29-2018 03:56 AM

Yay! Way to go! You're rockin' this turtle, Kaderin ^^

Kaderin Triste 03-29-2018 04:00 AM

Lol. Just gotta not put off working on it tomorrow or Friday!

Also, might make an attempt over the weekend since I have the time off and don't celebrate Easter, to work on and/or finish some previous CaL projects that I never finished. Maybe not all of them, but like...the mostly done pig still sitting on my shelf and my apron and stuff.

KittyBeary 03-29-2018 04:31 AM

Googly eyes. 8D

Kaderin Triste 03-29-2018 03:13 PM

Turtle is done except eyes! I could do stitched ones tonight or buy googly eyes at work tomorrow for it.

XoGizmooX 03-29-2018 03:20 PM

Turtle is done lol look how realistic he is.....naw but I ran out of thread to sew mine :( and I'm broke

O.o and googly eyes -thumbs up-

Kaderin Triste 03-29-2018 04:23 PM

Soo...needs eyes (which will be put on tomorrow night), but here's the mostly finished Tiberius James Turtle:

And then he's ready to boldly go where no turtle has gone before? ^^

Kaderin Triste 03-29-2018 07:09 PM

Lol, yes! The name was one of my friend's ideas, but I like it.

Damies 03-29-2018 09:12 PM

Tiberius is a great name! (I had a ferret with that name lol)

KittyBeary 03-29-2018 10:03 PM

So cute and tiny!! ;u;

Kaderin Triste 03-30-2018 03:11 PM

I kind of want to make an army of tiny turtles now...

trystan830 03-30-2018 07:37 PM

i made a tiny turtle a number of year ago (2012, actually)

https://images4-b.ravelrycache.com/u...tle_medium.jpg

Kaderin Triste 03-30-2018 07:55 PM

Pssh! Gotta make a new one!

Lol. Cute though.

trystan830 03-30-2018 08:01 PM

nah, i'm good. i'm making a blanket for a friend =)

Kaderin Triste 03-30-2018 08:06 PM

Blanket! Those can be fun to make.

trystan830 03-30-2018 08:09 PM

this one is! i'll post a pic when it's done

Kaderin Triste 03-30-2018 08:16 PM

Yes! All the pictures!
I'm actually working on a sock at the moment while I wait for a coworker who offered me a ride to my other job since the weather is bad, but have other projects I'd rather be working on. It was just the one in my bag.

trystan830 03-30-2018 08:33 PM

ooh, socks. i have yarn for a few pairs of those!

Kaderin Triste 03-30-2018 08:35 PM

I keep buying yarn for socks and never making them, so I'm doing a very basic pair now and then maybe a herringbone stitch pair after that.

trystan830 03-30-2018 08:40 PM

at least two pairs will be basic socks because of the yarn. there's other yarn that's solid that i might do some kind of stitch pattern.

i've made a few pairs of socks previously, too. =)

Kaderin Triste 03-30-2018 08:43 PM

Quit being good at everything!
Lol.

I did some toeless socks once, but I did the bind-off wrong on one of them and the thread snapped on it at one point. But never a normal pair yet.

trystan830 03-30-2018 08:46 PM

oops, sorry.

lol.

you'll make a pair soon

Kaderin Triste 03-30-2018 08:48 PM

Well, hopefully soon. Knowing me, I'll still be working on the first sock a year from now.

trystan830 03-30-2018 09:01 PM

can you do them at the same time, in tandem? if it's a special sock loom, do you have two?

when i've made my socks, i have two skeins. i use one for each sock - start the toe & foot of one, then the other. do the heel of one, then the other. finish the first, then the other. i work them in tandem to prevent Second Sock Syndrome

Kaderin Triste 03-30-2018 09:42 PM

If I can find it, yes. But that just would probably just tie up 2 sock looms for years instead of 1. Since stuffed animals are my most popular project, they take priority and all other projects take forever.

KittyBeary 03-30-2018 09:50 PM

That one's cute, Trys. :3

Den 03-30-2018 09:59 PM

I've started drafting a pattern for a dress....

trystan830 03-30-2018 10:05 PM

ah, fair enough, Kaderin

thanks, Kitty!

oooh, cool, Den!

Kaderin Triste 03-30-2018 10:16 PM

I'm just slow with projects unless there's some major reason to rush. And even then, vased on my still unfinished Christmas present scarf for a friend, I often miss deadlines.

trystan830 03-30-2018 10:23 PM

i have a sign that says "Deadlines Amuse Me" XD

EverAshwood 03-31-2018 11:12 AM

I wish I could finish more crochet projects I start...
I have 4+ partial blankets, half a set of slippers, 2 partial hats, and 3 barely-started scarves
And I need to figure out what to do with the 3-4 skeins of ugly yarn my mother picked out for a hood scarf (the yarn looks like fracking bowling alley carpet, swear to god), since she's not talking to me anymore...

trystan830 03-31-2018 11:41 AM

hmm, i have the blanket i'm working on, a blanket for me that's in progress, as well as a fuzzy scarf in progress on my loom. huh, i thought i actually had more WIPs than that.

but, i also have on my list to make:
*a tunic
*another blanket
*a few pairs of socks

.... and by then i probably should start my HollyDays crochet! o_O

Great sign!
Also works perfectly with the Douglas Adams quote ("I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.") :p-cool:

But yeah, my projects take forever too. I queued that exact same turtle trys made in 2012, and a ninja turtle pattern, but so far I started neither. There's still time in March, right? ^^;

EverAshwood, how about a bowling alley diorama? With the fugly yarn as actual carpet piece?

Projects: I have a half finished faux leather neck corset, a barely started phone bag, some half finished washer necklaces (painted with nail polish, but they still need some extra protection top layer), a half finished crochet flower which I managed to lose somehow when I went to my first coffee house crochet meeting, and the random thing on my knitting needles that's supposed to be a scarf but would only fit a doll if I were to take it off now.

Den 03-31-2018 06:54 PM

got the main pieces of the dress bodice cut out... still need to fray-check the edges... and draft the last decoration piece, then iron fabric out for the skirts and decoration.

Kaderin Triste 04-02-2018 02:59 PM

**Theme Announcement**

Don't go bananas, but it's already April! (Or should I say...Ape-ril?) This month's theme is Apes! Monkeys and other primates also allowed. So don't monkey around, get crafting!

trystan830 04-02-2018 03:59 PM

not an ape... but the blanket for my friend's charity is done....

https://images4-e.ravelrycache.com/u...35_medium2.jpg

Kaderin Triste 04-02-2018 06:30 PM

*steals the blanket and runs away*

trystan830 04-02-2018 07:10 PM

LOL!

*waits for you to stop running and takes back blanket*

EverAshwood 04-02-2018 07:12 PM

Whooooo new theme, noice~ I just found my green yarn too XD

That blanket looks so cute and warm~
