hmm... I wouldn't know. I've never been on the inside of a taxi. The closest I've seen is that one show where the guy drives around a custom taxi, and when people get in he asks them a bunch of questions and they win money.

I've been in a taxi a few times. There is a fee, then a charge per mile and per 15 minutes. At least in Connecticut and North Carolina...
