I think it's a pretty neat challenge to try and get as close as you can to what you have on in real life. Or even your favorite outfit that you wear irl. It makes you really look at the items on a site. *nod*

I'm wanting the rest of the Tea Time items. They're so pretty and adorable! But I can't seem to hang on to my aurum long enough to save up for them, lol. I keep making avs that need special finishing touches, and wind up spending what I save. I'm almost there again though. I'm really close to having enough to get the bustier (corset, whatever it is).

Thank you! When the magic hits, it hits, lol. The broom is Witchy Wiles. It's one of the Lapis Anka Egg items. This is only the second time I've used this item. For the top I've got Layered (Bottom to Top): Basic Fancy Bra, Tea Time Corset, Teal Bra, and Saloon Style.

For some reason It thought I had more layered, lol.

The laces are part of fenrir's original bundle skirt. I also have Anka Acolyte over that. The corset is Pandora's royal bundle corset, and the top is pandora's original bundle top. The gold collar is dramatic persona.

Saloon Style, wow Kilala, I should use that item, that looks so good. Maybe I will try something with that item but use one of the other color combos. ^_^ I tend to do ok when I choose one article and then create the avatar around that. Is that what you do?

Saloon Style is a fav of mine.... just so many pretty poses.

The head piece is Hallow of Innocence, it comes in white, blue, yellow, and bright green. The counter is Guise of Demise in black, red, dark green, and purple. They are the 2011 yearlies.

Actually Uma, that is pretty much what I do, lol. I'll choose a color (usually one of the ones in my sig) and build around it. Saloon style was a luck up for me, especially after this last event. This time I chose red, and think it's turned out pretty well. Even if it is the same old witchy thing. XD I really like corsets and the like.

I tend to have an idea - like "robotic" or "pirate"
Then I pick a few colors/items (Usually 2...can't seem to avoid my avi's becoming messy when I add more ;_;)

Then I just add around them.

My husband would just die, but the thing is that I did that essentially for ren faire, wore boning, and it was NOT comfortable. And I did that for like 5 years running so I know what it is like to be in a corset. I'll stick to using it on my avatar. XD

I don't know much about any of the items on this site, but what are some cool looking items that are easier to acquire for a new user?

Hi there Adariel, nice to meet you, I am Uma. Ok I have been keeping track of my avatars since 2010, I I can tell you of some good items. Some do not cost much in aurum or runes. Just a question please, are you limited to whatever aurum you get here, or are you able to get runes? Maybe think about that since you have not been here long. For aurum you can get commons. They are some of them very versatile. Like the Tea Time items, for example, can be bought for the pose and it comes with a ton of colors. Like if you get the Tea Time feathered hat then you get all the colors in that hat. Or there are other commons where you have to buy just the color of an item. But even so, they all blossom to 5 shades. So I would first look around the shops. Tell us what you like in an avatar. Have you been to other avatar places? I'll start with that, I have too many questions, lol, I am always asking questions.

I mean, right now I might want to stick with Aurum. Runes wouldn't be a problem for me to get, but I don't want to jump into that quite yet!
I will have to take a look at the shops! I did quickly yesterday, but I will take a more detailed look today! I like kind of cute pastel type avatars. Sometimes I also like really dark avatars, but that's on occasion. I've been to quite a few other avatar sites, so I'm not new with them in general.

Ok cool, well then, you just need some nice commons. The Lolita shoes are darling if you like cute clothes. There is also the poof skirt. Take a look at it, if you like it I have one I don't wear in Coral. Take a look at the Coral range of colors, they are really cool. I also like the Lolita Mesh Gloves a lot, very cute. You can find them in Eclectic Trends I think. Not sure about the poof skirt. Ok that can get you started. Oh you'll need stockings too of course, there are Stockings (that is the name) in all different colors and Mesh Tights too. Don't by a bunch of skirts, I have a few I don't want, but let's see what you like and if you even want to stick around Tris. Haha, true though! XD

I feel like a nerdy witch/ witch-y librarian, lol. I love the way corsets look, but I don't want to wear one with boning. I've borrowed a few corset style shirts from a few friends, and LOVED them, but for a real corset... Boning seems like it'd be way too uncomfortable for me. I love how sexy they are though, and I think the fact that I don't have any irl, is what draws me to them so much for my avs. >w<

So what is everyone going to do this weekend?

I wear a corset once a week. After so long it doesn't really bother me though it is a steel boned one, but I enjoy the look.

Quidditch Tourney this weekend in Rock Hill SC if anyone wants to come out.... I am going to support the team but I don't play.

I have no clue what the actual colors are. None of the items I'm using have a set color except for the hair, lol. And thank you! The shoes (and stockings, skirt, arm warmers, and hat) are Tea Time items, and I adore the versatility of them!


I'm planning on overhauling our laundry if I can get some assistance from le hubs. Our laundry room is downstairs in the basement, and I have problems with the stairs. (I was in a car accident 3 years ago that really messed up my ankle. It makes it hard for me to get around sometimes.) Other than that I want to find something new to binge on via Netflix, and maybe play some COD.

That actually sounds like fun, Tiva. Wish I had a ride up that way. I've always wanted to see a live Quidditch game.

It is ..... different. They look pretty goofy but it is an actual sport. My boyfriend is trying to add lib of how awesome they are.... but they aren't. The world cup is in myrtle beach this year.

I tend to like comedies. Romantic, action, horror... As long as it makes me laugh, I'll give it a shot. I actually just finished watching Glee through season 4. I feel like such a late bloomer for it too. I was all against it back when it first came out, for whatever reason, but when I was crocheting our families' Christmas presents I started playing it for background noise and wound up really enjoying it. I'm thinking about starting Fairy Tale next. I started reading it, but I'm hoping that I can get better into it animated.

COD is Call of Duty. I play COD:Black Ops and Black Ops II on the PS3. I was never a big fan of first person shooters, but I started playing just to be able to spend time with my hubs (he's totally addicted to it), then wound up enjoying myself so much that I started playing just for the heck of it. Do you play any video games?

I used to play the Battlefield Series...and I've "fanned" 100x over Neverwinter Nights (Aribeth forever!)
I tried playing Crysis, and it was fun...but no modding (game modification/add-ons by game fans) in most games is a deterrent to me.

TERA was fun when I actually played with someone (or went indie/glitchy exploring). I would like to play Rust or an indie Steampunk Airship game I found...but one is "troll if you don't have a team" and the other requires a team to even play ;_;

Ideal game: fps/Skyrim mechanics; Neverwinter/Dragon Age/Baldur's Gate storyline; Aurora/Battlecraft modding kit.

Dragon Age was one of the first games I played after I got my PS3. I absolutely LOVED it! I always find myself playing the rogue, regardless of what species I pick. <3 Also love the fact that almost everything you do has an effect on the end outcome of the game! Excuse me while I have my fangirl moment, lol.

Anyway, I've never played any of those other games. My range is pretty limited at the moment. I grew up with a Gameboy and didn't actually get a "real" console that wasn't circa late '70s (Atari 2600 and Magnavox Odyssey), until almost 2003.

I like Glee too but it was my husband who really liked it and actually put it on. If he had not then I would not have watched it just because I don't watch much TV. I put TV on as background, like I will watch Bollywood movies when I study Hindi or something.

I do not have video game reflexes. I found that out with FFX. I could never kill anything. Or get anywhere. Also I could not figure out the point of it all. But it was so pretty! So then I tried a kids game...Spyro the Dragon or whatever. But I could not get all the gems. I was bummed. That is my game experience. So then I used the Playstation to play DVDs.

Glee really appealed to my inner choir geek, haha. I was in chorus all throughout middle and high school. I LOVED it. <3 Although, we didn't have all THAT much drama, hehe. All we have is Netflix right now. The only thing we used cable for was the little kids shows for my son, so we did away with it.

I miss FFX! I had it, then I moved and it got lost between place a and place b. FFX-2 was even prettier! I loved the Dress Spheres (although a lot of FF fans will find the fact that I like FFX-2 blasphemous. The guy at GameStop called it Barbie Doll Dress Up the day I bought it, lol).

And "kids games" aren't always that easy either. I loved Spyro for the PS1, but it took me FOREVER to get good at it. I'm not like my hubs, who can adapt to any game near flawlessly and kick butt instantly. I have to keep at it and die fifty billion times before I actually get somewhere. XD

My favorite type of background noise is random music. I listen to just about EVERYTHING (with the exception of polka. That is not something that appeals to me. >.<). In a typical session on Spottify I'll hear country, showtunes, 90's pop, 80's hair metal, a bit of rap, disney themesongs, today's top 40 hits, back to country. It's wonderful. <3

I have never thought of listening to everything at once! Novel idea. I agree about polka, but I also do not listen to country or pop music.

I just got my new boy doll usps so I am going to open him and maybe take some pictures. *hops around all happy*

And I am glad to hear you have had some similar issues with playing games. I felt sort of like I was a failure at them, but I did actually enjoy what I was doing so the gain was mine overall. :]
