So, are we just waiting on me, then? I know I've been a bit negligent, but it doesn't seem like there have been enough responses since my last post. But maybe we need to move ahead.
Let me know. |
How about answering Dara's question. ;)
*goes to check* **is back. Above question remains.** |
Okay... I guess I should make a post to move things along a bit. Will have to wait for tomorrow as I'm exhausted now, but it'll get done. Sorry I've been neglecting this so much, been a hectic couple of weeks.
|
Is sick so....yeah -->
|
That's certainly a new look for you Esp.
|
Yay, I posteth. :D
|
Well, someone wanted me to be a sexy lady. I think I failed.

Hmm... probably a 2, I'd say.

HAHAHAAAAH-- Oh my god. FB chat/comment RPs are hilarious. Especially when they involve non-Esch OC's, Michael, and Dante...oh dear god XD Funkie know what I'm talking about. To an extent.
|
Someone bring Salone back! I need my cannibalism-salvation fix!
|
I've been try--
...oh god, Suze, your avi creeps me out. |

Suze, would you be disappointed if I said you look something like a visorific tranny out of Blade Runner?
|
@Funk: Na, just casual chat RP-ing.
@Quiet: FFFF----- I'm reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep for SciFi right now. |
Then I recommend you watch the movie two for a different perspective on it. :). I find I like movie Roy better than book Roy, and book main guy (can't recall his name) better than movie main guy. It's been a toss-up as two which story I like better overall.
Neuromancer is interesting too if you're into pseudo-Matrix Tron stuff. Gibson watched Blade Runner while he was still writing the book and said it looked so much like what was in his head he had to leave the theater. |
Roy....?
(Oh wait, is that the android leader?) -haven't finished the book yet- |
Roy Batty, yup, that's his name. I spotted it in the book because I was looking for it. Yeah, he's the unofficial android leader. I forget some of the details. Well, most of the details.
|
Don't know if I'd be disappointed or not, on account of having never seen it. I have a bad track record with "classic" sci-fi. So, yes, probably disappointed. :p
|
I don't know if I'd call it classic sci fi really. My prof called it "Cyber Punk" (the movie more than the book) and it feels about that to me, given the visuals. The movie is very dark though, as in colour, so you need a good TV to see. Most of the details come from neon lighting and store signs. I could have done withour Harrison Ford though. He didn't quite fit to me, but I guess that's because to me he's adventure man and not brooding moody detective guy. There is some oddball metaphorical stuff going on in the movie that's not in the book if I remember correctly, which would be Ridley Scott's doing. (Watched the director's cut for my paper on post apocalyptic lit). The book does give you more details on the actual state of the world and humanity though, the movie essentially skips over that, or the bulk of it, and there is no mention of Mercer, antheads, or an electric sheep.
|
No. Electric. Sheep.
And no Mercer and the any analogy? THAT'S A BIT PATHETIC. |
Scott works his own metaphorical stuff in. I think he uses the Anroids more as his metaphorical device. They are different from the ones in the book. They really are two different entities, the book and the movie. There's very little dealing directly with electronic animals at all, save some passing mentions, also probably put in more for metaphorical impact.
Not sure what you mean by Ant analogy. Can think of a couple areas in the book for that but one doesn't really involve an ant. (Should we stop derailing your thread Suze?) |
I don't really mind, at least until we can get the game going again.
|
I want the game to start again...I also want espy's glitch as an item, but....
|
Don't want to buy the hair?
*pokes thread* Nothing. :( |
We need Salone to come back... I want to play again too.
|
Ara? I though he'd popped his head in a bit ago; guess I'll go ask him again.
|
Just to let you all know, we're going to have a new player joining us (yay, group is back up to original size!).
Everyone, meet Arsis. Arsis, meet Espy, Funk, Serra, Salone (hopefully), and I believe you already know Quiet. |
Yo, yo, yo.
Character |
Nice to meet you :3
And, hum, sorry I haven't been around much on this thread, I'm having some serious time management problems ^^;; |
It's okay, Serra, we've all been busy lately I think.
|
Why hello, all. I do apologize for skivving off.
|
Hey! Long time no see.
Everything all right on your end? |
Ha, you could say that. I'm still recovering from working holiday retail. Not to mention driving back and forth between Malvern and Texarkana to claim the deed on my house. So time has been...strained. I'm finally getting to call some time my own though. Oh god, how long have I been gone?
|
Hello Salone, been a while. :). And welcome to our insane little rp corner Arsis.
This gives me pause for thought now. My character Dara has something of an angelic aura (she has an angel's soul but it doesn't fit so well in a mortal body so she has some disfigurements) that won't let people die -minus the instantaneous variety. Not certain what how this would affect people who are already dead. Could be nothing at all. I'll leave that up to you. |
'bout a month, give or take? I've been busy off and on as well.
|
You can always check the last post date, but time past is time that only matters if we care about it.
|
I have a lot of reading to do then. Oh boy...
|
Probably not that much. We've waiting for you. ;)
