Yay, go Mekatra! Riding around town!

Mekatra 01-06-2018 05:10 PM

I took it to go to the next big town over to go grocery shopping last night and kept parking WAAAAY out in the parking lots because I was worried someone might hit my new car lol

mdom 01-07-2018 01:32 PM

hehe the woes of a brand new thing xD

SparX 01-08-2018 09:02 PM

I drove so cautious the first few weeks of having my car.
Having to drive it in seattle ruined that mentality though, because it becomes a do or die zone sometimes .-.

You should try driving in Cali :| Apparently, we're scary drivers...?

SparX 01-08-2018 09:09 PM

Why yes you are.
I have only been down there once truthfully, and on a school band field trip. The freeways were scary. Lots of horns blaring too.and then came the congestion.

But it was really cool seeing actual sand on a beach XD

Espy 01-08-2018 09:14 PM

Yeah, and then most of us forget how to drive in the rain.

SparX 01-08-2018 09:34 PM

My friend who visited from Georgia was shocked when we drove through storms. Apparently people pull over and wait for storms to pass and it's ok with jobs usually and whatnot.
I was more shocked.

that sounds like PA drivers. in the rain, freezing rain, or snow. it's always fun when that happens here. XD

SparX - pull over and wait for a storm to end? wow, that's.... not done here either. unless, of course, it IS a torrential downpour, and you don't have to be somewhere at a certain time. i have pulled over maybe...once?

mdom 01-08-2018 10:44 PM

we don't stop when it rains here, only when it floods xD

I haven't driven/sat in a car in PA enough yet, so I have no opinion on this. (I commute by bus or by foot in Pittsburgh.)

trystan830 01-08-2018 11:46 PM

yeah, i would imagine it's different when you're not in a car.... i've always had a car to get around here.

where i am in the suburbs, there really aren't sidewalks.... and sporadic public transportation. i would imagine it's not all that fun.

SparX 01-09-2018 12:42 AM

East coast living seems like a different world sometimes XD

trystan830 01-09-2018 01:26 AM

more like east coast in the suburbs. i'm pretty sure there are busses all the time in Philly....

SparX 01-09-2018 03:11 AM

Not the bus taking part, just the general overall behavior and attitude of people there vs here or vice versa

Specific examples are mostly from Georgia and Florida, because that is wehre the largest concentrations are.

trystan830 01-09-2018 03:16 AM

Heh true. And New Jersey. And New York. They're like totally different countries XD
