It's incredibly difficult to find heels or platforms that fit that restriction (in addition to being available in wide widths).

It's also incredibly difficult to find flat dress shoes, I'm lucky to have managed for my best friend's wedding last year.
Thankfully I don't need dress shoes often.

Feets wise, I have arches. But I also have VERY high insteps, and wide feet and a back that cannot take any heel at all. Not even the normal rise of sneakers. Dress shoes? Nooooooooope. XD

Alien feets unite!

In my senior year of high school, my Urban Legends project team in English used the team name 'Red Rum She Said', and yeah, I don't know for sure but I'm betting the dude who came up with it got it from 'The Shining'.

LMBO. This guy is the baby son of two DnD type parents who live in a tavern common room most the time, despite actually having their own place. He came out cybernetic, all red with a bit of another colour and some nice metallic trim. And he thinks it's a funny game to feed explosives to his necromancer mother's dead things.

That sounds kinda awesome. So he's a robot if I understand correctly?

Yup. He's a baby robot. Because his dad originally was an Autobot, but got yanked through a portal and got turned human when he arrived in the D&D-esque world.

I play his dad and his mum in the stories that Tam and I write about that world. :3

And yessss. Flat dress shoes are so friggin' hard to find, especially when one's not looking for ballet flat-style shoes. I tend to veer more towards mens' dress shoes for flats, when I have to find a flat dress shoe. Though to be fair, I would LOVE to own a pair of massively high platforms if the platform part was the shape of sole I like best. I'm trying to find a pair for a costume I want to make... and it's hard finding something that will work...

Ever considered orthotic inserts?

Like Den says. XD And he happened because some jerk threw stolen gas from the couch that gives babies if a man and woman wind up sitting on it together at them. They were kinda surprised when he turned out Transformer.

When he's not terrorizing his mom's dead things or scrapping with his bitty friends he's playing with his clockwork powered dead dog that an Outcast Engineer friend made for him.

I can't even get my feet into most of the men's shoes I've tried on. Instep issues.

Glitch 02-09-2016 05:32 PM

I have triple narrow feet! And they are super long and flat and then I have hammer head toes. Anyway, I hate feet because my feet suck. xD

Growing up my feet were too long for girls shoes so I had to go to the mens section. And the shoes are never narrow enough so I just feel like I am wearing clown shoes. Lately I have just resorted to buying women's shoes one size too small so I can still look pretty.

Coda 02-09-2016 05:36 PM

I hear you on long narrow feet! Finding shoes for me often ends up as "Okay, which brand, style, and size has the arch in closest to the right place? Okay, now, is it possible for me to lace these things up tight enough that they don't fall off my feet?" And so I end up trying on just about every pair of shoes in the men's section between size 10 and size 11.5. :/

My mom used to joke that I don't wear shoes, I wear skis.

Demonskid 02-09-2016 05:55 PM

o3o DK wears a 9-10 in mens shoes.. My foot is almost as big as Codas? ;o;

Johnny Cash wore size 13 ouo -we had a mens size 15 custom made come through the mission once.. THEY WERE HUUUGE!-

Sounds pretty rad.

Men's flats? I would never have been allowed to do that for my best friend's wedding and possibly not for my mother's either though she was more lenient and didn't make me wear a dress but I love that idea.
Hell, I'd much rather dress up period in a tux than a dress.

The trick would be finding ones that would work with a foam wedge that I need 'cause my right leg's 8mm higher up than my left due to a joint rotating up, and looks shorter as a result. And it'd also have to work with ball of the foot padding...

If I could find stuff that'd work well like that, then I'd be in heels every time I go out. I've got a couple pairs of high heels, but I can't wear them very often because of all the aforementioned foot issues...

and I wear, depending on the style, 7.5-8 in men's sizes. No need for wide widths there!

Men and women don't have as much difference in foot size as people think. If a man and a woman are the same height, the woman's probably only going to wear a half size to a full size smaller shoe.

You can actually get the inserts custom-molded to your particular needs so that a separate wedge isn't even necessary. It costs a lot of money, but the inserts then last for YEARS.

Glitch 02-09-2016 08:38 PM

unless you have my dog. who likes to eat shoe inserts for some strange and bizarre reason.

Coda 02-09-2016 08:39 PM

The ones my mom had were cast in a pretty solid resin. Dog might get teeth marks in them but unlikely to destroy them (although I suppose with teeth marks they'd be pretty uncomfortable to wear, which defeats the purpose).

Mine eats everything from clothing to garbage. It's a dog thing.

That's interesting. I actually have a lot of men's graphic t-shirts that aren't as huge on me as you might think they should be.
Sometimes, like at my local Kohl's the men's section has a way better selection than the women's.

On another note, I must vent something: My title just changed again and UGH NO! I CAN'T STAND ZUCCHINI! XP
