Taiania 10-15-2011 05:22 PM

Thanks ^_^ She's a fun character. :)

Espy 10-15-2011 05:26 PM

Hahaha....what do people not get about that the concept of "Satan" is Christian and therefore obviously not pagan...haha...-facepalm-

EDIT: Sorry, just got told off by a friend of a friend. -irked-

Taiania 10-16-2011 05:08 AM

Lol tell me about it. I wish they'd just clue themselves up before throwing out the satanism statement.
My best friend is Lucifarian and he's the nicest person I know.

Gallowsraven 10-16-2011 08:04 AM

I know Norse and Chaos witches, grey, white, black and green witches, and a satanist or two, and every single one is nice as can be.

The Christians near where Paradise used to be don't like me though, threatened to douse me in holy water last time i saw them. My response was that they'd have to let me go fetch my moon water first, then we could have a water fight ^.^

Taiania 10-16-2011 09:22 AM

LMAO ^_^ My reply is a relaxed "Ok."
Though my Lucifarian friend does have to be careful around christian holy water. It even being in the same room sends him into intense panic attacks, just before he passes out.
Though his version tends to smell like bleach to christians. Smells like lavender and oranges to me.

Gah , so tired. I'd nap but I wouldn't sleep tonight. 'yawn'

Have any of you ever gone out on a sort or journey of self discovery? Even if it's been somewhere close by where noone else goes so you could meditate on your own soul. I'm wondering how to go about it...

In other news.... Angel got a new faceup and coat http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/p...a/DSCF0783.jpg

Gallowsraven 10-17-2011 05:24 AM

Aw, kawai!

I kind've have. Luke's done more of that than me; he has a real wanderer's spirit where he just has to go somewhere. I do have a place i like to go, but the trouble is getting there.

Oddly enough though, both of our favourite spots are coves, albeit not the same one.

Taiania 10-17-2011 11:12 AM

Ooooh cool. I used to be able to do that but lately I've been feeling a bit trapped. I think it's my nerves getting the best of me. I can handle anything the paranormal has to throw at me but one chav and I'm a gibbering wreck. XD

Gallowsraven 10-17-2011 12:14 PM

Don't worry, i get the same issue, especially if there're more than a couple of them. One i can deal with, usually, but i don't like crowds.

Taiania 10-17-2011 12:21 PM

Ack, tell me about it.
May I ask what sort of things came to you on your journeys? :)

Gallowsraven 10-17-2011 02:31 PM

I can't remember now, the journal i kept for them got lost ages ago. Most of it was realisations about those particular moments in my life. The oddest one had to be when i kept thinking about a lizard when i was trying to sort out a problem lol.

Daring Scylla 10-17-2011 02:38 PM

This is a great thread, though I see by the poll I'm the only Druid (or at least the only one who's voted). Thanks for having this thread, Tai. I'll try to pop in often and chat.

I'd like to discuss Tarot, if anyone is in with it. I know very little about it but I am very interested.

Taiania 10-17-2011 05:28 PM

Lol. I lose books all the time. They tend to turn up years later in odd places. Like the keys on the mug tree :S lol.

Welcome Daring. It's always nice to see a new face ^_^
We've had a few discussions about tarot lately :)
(questions for all)
What deck do you use?
What style do you read with?

Gallowsraven 10-18-2011 04:46 AM

My tarot decks're buried in my witchy trunk . . . don't think either of em are happy with me, and i'm terrified to think about what the learner deck's like now. It was suicidal when i got it ^.^ poor thing.

Welcome to the Pagan Inn, Daring!

And to answer those questions . . . i have two (yes two) decks, both of them are the original Mythic Tarot, based on Greek mythology. Don't give me that pander about the new one; the artwork's better in the original. I use several different spreads to read, but my main ones are a one-card-draw (day-to-day stuff), a three card spread (past-present-future/problem-root-solution) and a ten-card spread called the Celtic Cross.

Also, and i know this from experience, to keep a deck happy show it some love.

And nobody give me that rubbish about not reading for yourself. I do it all the time and it hasn't caused me any bad luck. That just smacks of self-fulfilling curse/prophecy if you ask me.

Taiania 10-18-2011 05:08 AM

Lol. I'm sure they'll forgive you.

I have about 5 decks, but mostly for the art.
I have my gilded tarot working deck, my truth seekers tarot, my necromicon tarot, my manga tarot and my beginners deck that my mum gave me.
I'm usually an intuitive reader. I follow what the cards are trying to say , not what a book tells me they're saying.

By the way, I finally got my doll some real eye lashes intead of them just being painted. Yay. Problem is she doesn't look like Angel anymore. Angel was a half native american wrestler and reserve owner. For one this dolls too pastey. I'm just not sure what to call her. Any ideas?

Taiania 10-20-2011 02:12 PM

Is anyone around tonight?
Off to feed the birds and squirrels tomorrow. hehe. I kind of can't wait.

Gallowsraven 10-21-2011 05:11 AM

I had sushi yesterday!!!!! Not that heavy mass-produced stuff either, proper sushi!!! I love sushi . . . And i love tempura soba!!!!

^.^

Ok, enough with my unintelligent babbling. Ever seen a red squirrel Tai-chan?? They're so cute!!!

Taiania 10-21-2011 11:21 AM

Sushi is awesome!! :D

Yea. Once or twice. Only once in the wild though. They're soooooo cute :D

Taiania 10-23-2011 12:52 PM

Went on a charity motorbike run today, my hips huuuuurt LOL
How has everyone been? Doing anything in the run up to Samhain?

Gallowsraven 10-24-2011 04:45 AM

Jumping around like a mad cat? Lol, tbh not much, i sign on today - thank the gods, wouldn't have been able to stand it if it was next monday and i doubt the JobCenter would survive it anyway - and i have some sadly mundane stuff going on.

I'll probably dig out my tarot and do lots of lovely divination. Maybe even dig out my pretty obsidion scrying mirror - 20th birthday present, i love parents - and have a go.

One Week To Samhain!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taiania 10-24-2011 08:02 AM

OOoooooooh , scrying mirror. I have one but I'm not that good with it ^_^;

And finally got a job. It's three months but it's in the same toy store as Jenjen. Sooooo happy!

Daring Scylla 10-24-2011 04:31 PM

Congratulations on the new job. Does anyone have any plans for Samhain?

Taiania 10-24-2011 04:38 PM

Thanks ^_^
It depends if I'm working or not. If I am I'll just get dressed up and have a laugh.

Daring Scylla 10-24-2011 04:45 PM

I'm going sightseeing, if you know what I mean. Maybe I'll catch some activity :o
I hope it's fun though, I enjoy dressing up

Taiania 10-24-2011 05:21 PM

Oooooh cool. Maybe you could tell us about anything significant after?
I've always loved dressing up. I'm the only person I know that actually has a lab coat and doesn't do science. Then again I also own a vintage air force hat, circuit bored goggles, more fake hair than I think is healthy, and all manner of clothes that could become part of a costume at any second...

Lol I sound completely insane. I swear I'm just quirky.

Gallowsraven 10-24-2011 05:59 PM

Pwease let us know how that goes Daring. Purty pwease with sprinkles and a cherry? lol.

Congrats Tai-chan, it doesn't matter if it's only a temp job, it's money in the pocket for yule and christmas and a reference for the CV/resume. ^.^ I have a lab coat too, so maybe i'll forego my usual stereotypical outfit this year and become a mad scientist . . .

Nah.

As per usual i will be witching it up to the max, dressing up as a witch come twilight in full regalia - including the hat, which is just too much to resist this time of year - and joining my dad and brother. They hide in the alcove our door is in and dress up, with torches, and scare the wits out of trick-or-treaters so what i think i'll do is offer a treat to the biologically grown-up - let's face it, nobody's an adult on this night of nights.

I will offer a tarot reading - probably a one-carder - as their Halloween treat. Hopefully anyway.

And Tai-chan, we're all quirky, it's why we're all special ^.^ luvs ya still!

Taiania 10-25-2011 04:17 AM

Lol that sounds awesome! And it's true. The only ones really acting grown up are the spoil sports.
Yay! Luvs y'all too ^_^

Oh, and something I've been meaning to bring up. As you all know I love dolls. Well there's a double purpose to my doll collecting. To explain I have to start with a story.

A while ago I had a couple of pet fish, Luna and Umbra. They were wonderful little creatures. But one morning I awoke to find them dead. I was distraught.

While consoling me my mother gave me a serious look, then told me about a belief in eastern culture. In the far east many people keep fish as pets. An old reason for this is like a spiritual shield. They act as guardians, fending off spiritual attacks. Sadly this usually ends in their deaths.
This made me feel a little better and allowed me to feel better about burying them. I gave them the passing that I would any other good friend. They even have their own little tree.

Anyway, how does this link to dolls you ask?
Well, after they passed I was left mourning and to make me feel better and keep my mind busy I gained my first doll. I repainted her and spent a lot of time giving her more personality before I sat her on the shelf where the fish tank used to sit.

In the afternoon, while relaxing after work, she was knocked down. Now, her shelf and stand were perfectly stable. The only way she could have fallen would be to push her.
That's when I realised, she was doing as my fish had done only days earlier.
Dolls are moulded to look like little people, and if you put enough time and energy into them they can take on a purpose. Like poppets they can become useful. The more life you put into them the stronger they are. Since I began collecting and modifying the dolls the attacks have slowed to nearly nothing.
Well bar a couple of days ago when one of my Ghoulia's took a tumble. She seems fine since I moved her to where the old fish tank used to be. Right next to my window.

Gallowsraven 10-25-2011 12:01 PM

Actually, that makes a great deal of sense. It's a similar principal to a voodoo doll or, as you said, a poppet or a corn dolly.

I have a spook acting as my barrier as well as a hanging crystal by the window and a witch mobile by the door. The funny thing about her is that no matter what i do, she always swings around until she faces out the door and onto the stairs and landing.

Mom hates it when i do anything to do with poppets or dolls; she can't get the bad press out of her mind when she sees them. Don't blame her though; it took me a while to be comfortable with them.

Six Days 'Til Samhaine!

Taiania 10-25-2011 04:11 PM

Hehe that's really cool. We have a friendly spirit who is in the shape of a crow most of the time. But he's often very busy so things slip though.

That's a cool effect though. I have my personal symbol above my bedroom door, and a pentacle above the window.

That's why I use fashion dolls to be honest. Though I did make a little cloth dolly for a friend of mine. It had a little smiley face ^_^

EEEEEEEeeee I can't wait. I love this time of year!

Gallowsraven 10-26-2011 09:14 AM

Me too, my little brother is borrowing my old biology and chemistry lab coat and with any luck i can persuade mom to use a pack of cheap wash-out dye on his hair. He's gonna be such a cool mad scientist.

Five Days 'Til Samhain!!!

(why the heck did i put an e at the end of it last time???)

Taiania 10-27-2011 05:09 AM

Awesome! Mad scientist is the best costume.

Hehehe Yays.

I was at work all yesterday 12 till 11 . Loooong first shift lol.

Gallowsraven 10-27-2011 05:30 AM

Ouch, poor thing.

Hope the weather's not like this on the 31st . . . rain isn't conducive to a black velvet dress . . . or hair dye . . . or much of anything for that matter. -.-'

Four Days 'Til Samhain!!!

Taiania 10-27-2011 09:01 AM

Lol yea. Spiderweb umbrellas all round methinks. It was hauntingly misty yesterday. Lovely to walk to work with.

Gallowsraven 10-27-2011 09:14 AM

Not here. The SW has rain, rain and . . . oh, let me think . . . more rain. It's pissin it down right now.

I'd love a spiderweb umbrella! A clear plastic one with black spiderwebs, not the thick-lined ones but the finer ones instead. Would look lovely.

Taiania 10-27-2011 09:48 AM

You can get lace design ones like that but I've never seen a web one.

Daring Scylla 10-27-2011 02:04 PM

A spider web umbrella would be very, very neat. Steam would like that, she's super into spiders.
i myself like scorpions.

these are cute, though not clear plastic

Taiania 10-27-2011 03:31 PM

Cooooool . I'd love the first one ^_^

Daring Scylla 10-27-2011 04:06 PM

I would too, i want to paint celtic designs on my umbrella lol.
the last tag for this thread lol

Taiania 10-27-2011 04:59 PM

Ooooh. That'd be cool. Any waterproof paint should do it.
:P

Gallowsraven 10-27-2011 05:44 PM

Way awesome.

\my bedroom's getting an almost complete makeover! I need a new bed so i'm getting one soon, new bed equals new bed stuff, the style of bed means i get lots of cute cushions and i get new net curtains and new curtains as well as new furniture! ^.^

I'm a happy witch this month.

Daring Scylla 10-27-2011 05:56 PM
