Luna (is it okay if I call you that?): the bumping we're talking about is when people make a "Bump Thread" where they just keep writing "bump" in order to get gold, or whenever they post in other threads also only will write "bump" instead of actually try and talk to people

Yup. "Bump" is supposed to be short for "bring up my post". People on gaia use it a lot to bring their threads back to the top - or in the chatterbox to earn gold randomly.

I admit, I bump too, if there's some contest where I can win gold, but I prefer conversation any day :/

That is why I enjoy Tris I can talk to all the users and have fun make gold.

I use on-topic reviving (saying that I am still questing) to revive my quest thread a lot on gaia.
