I think my group is doing well. we got our big idea, like, the first week, and we've only made it better since then. I don't know how often other groups meet or how they're doing, but apparently my professor and his TA totally ripped everyone apart during the checkup meetings last week. one of my group members overheard him saying so to the guest lecturer on monday. >.> but my group didn't really get torn apart. he just told us in a really roundabout way that it was good but to make sure the tagline was saying enough. we got super frustrated with his roundabout compliments and I finally had to say, "but you like the direction and idea, right?" and he was like, "well, yeah, I like where you're going with it. just make sure you execute it right."

we were just assigned mentors who are already in the ad program, and our mentor has no advice for us because we're doing so well. XD

Tezu is, in fact, still around and very active. She just doesn't want to disclose her mule name.

yeah, I love my group. we got put together super-randomly (I decided to team up with one of the girls because we were both wearing red and white striped Where's Waldo-looking shirts that day, lawl) but we have such good group chemistry. I daresay we work together better than all the other groups in the class. so we are going to TOTALLY BEAT EVERYONE ELSE and hopefully our campaign is even good enough to be used in the national competition.

national competition would be super epic. the winner of the class competition isn't necessarily guaranteed to go on father just in case we all suck, but if our campaign is good enough, we get to work with the older kids who are in the program and have taken more classes and actually know what they're doing, and compete regionally first. if we win regionally, we go to new york. and if we get that far, we're basically guaranteed admittance to the ad program. which would be super awesome because I don't like worrying about whether I make it in. ;~;

I'm sure if you forced them underwater long enough, they'd breath in water so they'd cough when you bring them back up TxT

the thing I'm worried about is that I'm not really the idea-person. I'm creative execution. the idea people tell me what to do and I make it pretty. we were talking about print ads in our meeting last night and I just quietly sat in the corner sketching up everyone's ideas as they vocalized them. the ideas I had brought to the meeting were generally dull, and when I shared them, everyone else added tweaks to make them better. XD
a big portion of the application to the program is a 1-minute video advertising myself, and I have had a terribly hard time coming up with a decent concept. I have all summer to make it, but it still worries me. I'd really love to have the "I made it to new york in the JC Penney competition, so you have to admit me because I'm better than everyone else" card to play.

Yah, grades are also dependent on the teacher you take. I had this one teacher who made tests where you have to remember what he says in class exactly to the dot. And the problem was, when he was asked to repeat what he said (so we can take notes on it) he'd often mix up his words. So people who had good memories to remember what he said the first time, had a lot of short-hand writing, or those with laptops are the ones that got good grades in the class. It was my only C grade class. All of my others have been A's or B's, so it was pretty devastating for me.

now that's just a cruel way to teach. D: my advertising teacher believes that if the class isn't averaging a B or B+ on exams, he's not doing his job right, and that other teachers should hold themselves to the same standards. I like that.

Egosh, I hate teachers like that Chinchilla. I once had a history teacher like that... jeez, I have never been lucky with history teachers, at least not till 10th grade (right now).

Ugh, I hate that I am getting some not-so-good grades in Math. I am trying hard, but the stuff just don't get in my head, especially when I miss out a class or two. Dx -will be trying hard this weekend to understand it more- I want all my grades to be B+ and A. ToT;;

My physics teacher doesn't teach. >: His "lecture" is doing our homework problems for us on the board, and his labs are all basically follow these instructions and make sure you get the right answer; hardly any thinking involved. I have a C in that class right now. x_x At this point, I'll just be happy to pass and be done with it. It's the same way with almost everyone else.

Some teachers work, some teachers don't. I hate it when employers ask for transcripts, cuz I know people who go to schools with easy teachers will have higher grades, and thus will look better...or active teachers vs. lazy teachers. The current grading system is broken. If we could get grades while factoring in how difficult or easy a teacher is, I would be in love with the system. A person with a B or C average at one school may end up doing better than someone with an A average from a different school.

that's so true. I got straight-A's through community college, because it was way easier than high school. I'm having a bit of trouble developing actual study habits now that I'm in a real university, because I've never had to study before... DX

Excluding math class I breezed through pretty much all my classes through out high school. Math killed me though x_x I'd study an hour a night, show up to tutoring just in order to keep my grades above a C

When it comes to teachers though I seem to be quite lucky with them...sure there were a few I could've done without but like only one per two years or something. Now I am not in school and I keep dreaming of goign to school xP

I either want school, or a job. I want stuff to do..other than the stuff that I'm already doing now lol x'D

lol I got a job now...sorta I only work a day a week. I love to learn so I'd choose school over job if money was availible. But honestly I think mostly I need a regular schedule it's so funky (in a bad way) to be up and all over the place.

I need a job. T-mobile said they'd call me back as soon as they got the background check results back when I called them on monday. it's been 9 days since I sent in my information. I don't have anything on my background! I've lived in two houses with my parents, then went off to college, in the past 10 years. I've never gotten a ticket, never been arrested, never done drugs, never done anything! I should be squeaky-clean! it shouldn't take 9 days to do a background check on me! DX
