I'd be interested, though I'd need to do a pile of reading myself. My knowledge of actual historical -or pretend historical- stuff pertaining to such things is pretty shoddy.

Oh, sorry Espy, I imagine he'd still be able to see auras? For a while at least, since he's freshly expired. Or he might have crazy hallucinations? I kind of vote for this since it would be more fun. :P

Espy 11-28-2013 03:07 AM

Okay, so, wait. Where would his soul be? I'm going to assume that if he's hallucinating /now/, he'll be able to have visual hallucinations because he's free from the constraints of his own body.

Suzerain of Sheol 11-28-2013 03:11 AM

Didn't he have his eyes burned? He should be capable of visual hallucinations from his brain too, no? And his soul is pretty close considering he *just* died.

...Crap. I meant that if he was going to be /seeing things/ as in everything that's going on around him, he should be able to do so.

...I can't brains right now. I've slept for 12+ hours today and I'm still tired.

Suzerain of Sheol 11-28-2013 03:15 AM

Oh. Well honestly, you can play it however you want. He probably would be "aware" of the scene going on, not sure I'd call it "sight", but the approximation to the spiritual medium. Close enough.

Espy 11-28-2013 03:16 AM

Cool. Will attempt to post tomo--

...today. /Later/ today.

How long has Dante been blind? I have this image of him suddenly freaking out because he can see again and he's not used to it, especially if what he's seeing is getting messed up.

Lawtan 11-28-2013 03:26 AM

...Why do I sleep through the interesting convos...
@Suze - Hell, yes! (Been reading on the Tuatha de Danann, Arthurian legends (their theorized origins), and Nordic/Germanic mythology...
Also Egyptian, Native American, Ugaritic, and the classical Greco-roman...
...Sorry, got overexcited at the prospect of a non-biblical/non-LotR RP. Only way you could get a larger reaction (I'd be jumping like a lunatic) would be an RP on the Sea with 17th century pirates and the mixed mythos/tech of the sea.

Suzerain of Sheol 11-28-2013 03:37 AM

Heh, it's okay. You might be able to help me when I get to setting down the details, not sure what all I want to do with magic and such yet. I kind of want to include Norse stuff, too, not positive yet though.

For about fifteen years, but Nalsa did a thing last RP. Also, that he sees auras would lessen the impact. Dreamig also happens visually.

HNNRK.

Ogma vs. Heimdall! Galahad can watch from the sidelines.

I know the material was aimed at teen readers, but see Everworld. Pretty much all the old gods tired of earth and packed up, and created another. So you've got Vikings fighting Aztecs and Zeus battling against Odin and things like that. Was actually slightly metal for a young reader's series, if I remember right. Been about a decade.

But yeah, I'd be in Suze.

Espy 11-28-2013 05:49 PM

Sorry for the overly-mopey post. Probably affected by the couple of emotional breakdowns I had over the past week (I'm fine now, seriously).

Suzerain of Sheol 11-30-2013 12:11 AM

Espy, I was thinking Dante might have a mental impairment to his vision as well as the physical so that even if the resurrection healed the burns to his eyes, his brain might need further heeling to be able to see, which Thomas isn't skilled enough to provide.

Or anything you'd like to go with, just a suggestion.

Lawtan 11-30-2013 12:26 AM

Umm...isn't a time component required - the restoration of a blind man (naturally blind, not burned) has taken 6 months -> a year for his brain to start seeing colors and make out blurry shapes. That was after a few months of surgery...
So, unless it is a purely magical matter, it would take time for Dante's brain to adjust to having sight.
At least...according to an article I read.
