"Near is a creature of habit," Naveen reminded, sitting up and leaning against the headboard, hugging Rufus tightly. "Any drastic change is going to make him uneasy... and so when something like me coming back to life happens, the best thing to do is make everything else around him as normal..."

He eyed the blonde, slowly.

"And besides... are you forgetting that its things like you breaking his puzzels and toys that attracted him to you in the first place?"

"What are you talking about...I treated him like crap and he...ohhh..." Mello's eyes shot wide and he stared blankly.

"I knew you were a genius!" Naveen teased, smiling.

"That's kinda bad...that Near would be attracted to someone like that." Mello shook his head. "Well...like me."

Mello sighed and slipped off the bed to pace- limp around the room a little.

Naveen's smile slowly fell. "What do you mean? It never bothered you before..."

"Mmm...before I didn't really care." Mello admitted. "I mean...Near suddenly...clicked...but there was a little while there that he was just a good screw."

Mello tensed up- remembering who he was talking to.

Naveen made a face, but didn't say anything in regards to that comment. "Do you know what changed it? Do you even know why he decided to propose?"

Mello turned to the other boy and blinked.

"...I'm...really good in bed?" Mello offered dumbly.

"I will not confirm nor deny that," Naveen snorted. "But if that were the case, why didn't Zero or I propose? ...Or Matt, for that matter?"

"What are you talking about Matt!?" Mello burst, his face lighting up. "And Zero!? Are you kidding!?"

"Oh come on," Naveen laughed. "Everyone knows about Matt, and you told me a few years ago that you lost your virginity to Zero!"

Mello's face was bright red and he looked very displeased.

"...Zero didn't lose anything." Mello muttered. "It was stolen...had anyone been able to hold out against THAT!?"

"I never slept with him," Naveen offered. "Neither did M, for that matter..." He fell silent for a moment before he shrugged. "But he did try with both of us. I think Near slept with him once, though... but that isn't the point! The point is that... wait, where was I going with this conversation, anyways?"

"What about Near and Zero?" Mello frowned.

"Oh, right!" Naveen called, snapping his fingers. "My point was that you need to find out why the hell Near proposed to you and what he loved about you and start being an asshole to him again!"

"...And what?" Mello frowned. "Fucking Zero will help with that?"
