I read that before it became overly popular

Serra Britt 08-16-2012 08:51 PM

I didn't even know about it until the fourth book came out so I didn't have the chance to XD

Airina 08-16-2012 08:58 PM

Oh wow. I read them before the movies came out

Serra Britt 08-16-2012 09:05 PM

I was able to do that at least. The movies were...kind of good but didn't really compare to the books.

Angel Spirit Girl 08-16-2012 09:57 PM

The Harry Potter books are good. <3

If a young adult book is popular, I may want to read it for curiosity's sake just to see what it is like.

Serra Britt 08-16-2012 10:02 PM

Amber Spyglass was pretty good too, though the end kind of made me sad...

Airina 08-16-2012 11:42 PM

Never heard of it.

Serra Britt 08-17-2012 12:00 AM

I thought it was a pretty good set of books. The movie they made for it kind of failed though...

Airina 08-17-2012 01:04 AM

Hmmm that's cool. sucks about the movie though

Serra Britt 08-17-2012 01:15 AM

Yea, it is too bad. It could have been good but it didn't follow the book enough.

Airina 08-17-2012 10:49 AM

Ahhhh that sucks. I hate it when movies do that

Serra Britt 08-17-2012 10:30 PM

Yea, it kind of just went off on it's own strange tangent.

Airina 08-17-2012 10:36 PM

That's really weird!

Angel Spirit Girl 08-17-2012 11:19 PM

I didn't like the His Dark Materials books that much -- especially the last third of the Amber Spyglass.

The problem with the movie -- the Golden Compass -- was that it only covered the first book. That was not all that good a place to stop the trilogy's continuous story.

Airina 08-18-2012 12:53 AM

That sounds odd. I've meant to read the golden compass... but i never have.

Serra Britt 08-19-2012 12:24 PM

I still liked them. The ending was REALLY sad in my eyes though.
